Great way to start your 40's Nili! All your work will hopefully make your perimenopause transition in the coming years easier. Carbs during your 40's are necessary for your progesterone production but such a tricky thing to balance. All the best with the rest of your Health Journey.
Big fan of following your journey. I am so happy when a channel reminds us that we all may have different reasons for doing this. I thoroughly enjoy following all types of channels, from Carnivore to Low Carb. But I am not of the thought that all “veggies are trying to kill you”. We all have different levels of tolerance for different things. Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever eat grains or sugar again. But I did eat a half of a cookie at Christmas and it wasnt the end of the world, and I got right back on track! Thanks for “keeping it real”.
I totally agree! You have to figure out what works for you and this can change! I was doing healthy keto and resolved autoimmune, then a very high fat carnivore to fight cancer. Since my surgery I’ve been trying to land on what’s next. Right now I’m doing Ketovore I guess. Still ketogenic animal-based, but I’m enjoying squash, cruciferous veggies, spices and raw milk, kefir and the l. Reuteri yogurt. Definitely the most carbs I’ve had in a long time so I’m doing weekly 48 -72 hour fasts. I hope to keep adding veggies and mushrooms…. It’s a transition but I feel like this is more sustainable and hopefully scares away cancer 🙏🏽
I hear you. I just have not been able to cut carbs below about 30 without feeling lots of food noise. If I have a small piece of sourdough toast with my eggs and bacon or a some sweet potatoes, or a very small portion of lentil pasta and some marinara with my meatballs, or a sugar free dessert a couple times a week, I feel much more satisfied than if I tell myself I can't have any of that. That's the reason I have never been able to go full carnivore, not even for a week. My subconscious mind freaks out about that restriction, and I won't even start. If I greatly reduce sugar, and eat wholesome healthy foods, plenty of animal protein and healthy fats, and move my body regularly, my inflammation is reduced, and the scale will slowly move down. That works for me. Keep up the good work, and thanks for your honesty and transparency!😊
hi , the same thing happened with me. I can say just about verbatim. I think it’s years of restriction. I’ve been following you since the early days before keto was even cool and I think after so many years our body can’t doesn’t do well chronically low-carb.
My case is very similar to yours, but I'm also passing to postmenopause and i never imagine how complicated these times are.. Finally I realized after praying a lot that its important to substitute some foods for others to get the amounts of protein, fat and carbs that we need and also how to combine them better. For me the carbs are in green veggies and few fruits, protein only in fish and eggs (alternating) as and fat in avocados and seeds and nuts. Then my sweet craving with different recipes with nuts, seeds, dates and cocoa chocolate and they are delicious.. But counting my carbs and sugar intake everyday.
I watched a video a few years back where the wife of a keto couple posted about working with weights and adding some more exercise. She posted a photo when she started and another one a year later. Her weight never changed but her body changes were remarkable. So no need to change what you eat. Keep getting nutrients your body needs. There might be a non food solution body image issue. Thank you for sharing ❤
I will tell you that when you tighten your carbs very low, when you do have carbs, your body will overreact. I controlled my grandma's diabetes with diet with a VERY low carb diet. All was great til she had to go into care facility. With their first meal, she was on insulin hence forth.
Hi Nili, happy you are feeling better. Can you say that some of that successes are part of the Super Yogurt? Do you only take the L reuteri or have you included any other probiotic in the super yogurt?
and i never thought of each carbs.. and cravings. I say anything thing that turns to sugar and sugar its self is what cause me cravings. and ones that sugar was out of my system. i never crave???
I would like to know how your iron levels are now? Did you find the root cause of your deficiency? I am happy to see that your health is your priority. Weight is a vanity issue IMHO unless you are obese. In sating that, there are plenty of obese people who are healthy and of course the opposite is also true (thin and sick). It's really a social rather than a medical issue. We all come in different sizes and shapes. This year I am focusing on my fitness. How is your routine around movement these days? Are you still running?
I get the strong feeling that you are deluding yourself yet again . I think you will have health issues again in the future from ignoring the facts about a lot of the toxins in some of the carbs you are choosing to eat now
There are many experts in the keto space that support cycling in and out of ketosis after the body has been well adapted to fat burning. People like Ben Azadi and Dave Asprey. Even Dr Robert Cywes (who is a carnivore because he is a hardcore carb addict) has mentioned that having chronically low insulin for a long period of time can be a problem for long term carnivores (their blood glucose level and trigs start increasing) and he advices the patients that are having issues introduce 50 grams of carbs per day to stimulate insulin a bit). Our ancestors would have eaten fruit and honey during certain times of the year. The issue for most people is that we keep the level of sugars and starches high throughout the year. Our body works best in cycles. Of course there are people that have conditions that require them to keep a pretty high level of ketones like those having severe mental or neurological issues and thise having severe carb addiction have to be extremely careful about reintroducing sugar into their diet. Stuff like unsweetened fermented dairy can be a place to introduce some carbs without reawkening the addiction dragon

Your videos are amazing! 🙂
I pray this goes where you want it to.
I still have to eat low carb. I feel so much better!
You are absolutely on the right track

So, is your ferritin level resolved?
Never thought of taking 2 packets a day (LMNT) I just got a box of the Mango Chili. Wow. Delicious!

Which two videos are the ones to watch before this one?
Are you still doing the L-reuteri yogurt?
What approach do you plan on taking when you’re ready to lose weight?
