- We braved the cold and made a trip up north to Motor City for some "Mexico" action. The cold weather didn't stop some cars from pulling the tires, but others were all over the road, hitting curbs and sometimes their opponent! This was definitely a memorable first time in Detroit - big thanks to Chucky for having us out!

That has to be one of the most efficient Cash Days I’ve seen, the races were back to back. Respect for the “Keep it Street” mentality

No way. Took way to long from start to finish lol. How many spots do they need to go for just meeting lol 5 to 6am by the time they were done
6 pairs in 9 minute that's a race ever 1 minute 30 seconds
First round was great... after that it took 4 more hours, we endure quite a bit of waiting & running around to make these videos look like they do :P

Slingshot outta' the hole! It suuuure looked like he crossed (a little, maybe ~6" over) but the angle might've been deceiving.

(I know, sounds old and cliche yet the words apply) when we had a foot of snow then we raced our snowmobiles on the streets!
Seriously speaking, every street rat here saw snowflakes at one time or another during ones tenure tearing up the battle of the streets.
One of our biggest worries in the colder months was not worrying about getting caught by the law on drag slicks or even worrying about a flat M/T or Goodyear sticky, it was worrying about hydroplaning on way home when it snowed wearing drag slicks as rear shoes!

Reminds me of the Old Days here in Detroit 70's Street Racing "All Motor" down Warren off Livernois at the White Castle back in the 70's, at Midnight the Cops from the 10th would Block the road till 3am! DAMN, Those were the Days!
This is real street racing. No pro mods. Hats off to these guys and Detroit for bringing it back to life.
Great for you guys to finally make it out, but as some other said, this was a farcry from what actually exists in Detroit. It was pretty late in the season (Oct 26th) so alot were either broken from a full season or already garaged.
Im glad I could help out getting you guys from spot to spot when possible. The "best" detroit racing that is more than 2-5 races are in the more secluded spots like you're used to. Other than when we ran 10 pairs deep on I-475 up in flint I have never seen more than 4 races go off without issue "IN" Detroit.

I know a guy who said they shut down traffic on 475 up in flint (recently where Saginaw street area was redone) and hold the truckers and cars up till they’re done, that’s some badass shit I’d like to see

Grew up in Detroit, never thought I'd ever miss it but this has me feelin a little nostalgic.
This brings back memories, 30 years ago when I lived in Detroit. We used to run around from spot to spot, get a couple races in, cops show up, move to the next spot. Best spots were 14th & Bagley, Jefferson by fort Wayne and John kronk.
You was in Detroit for real! They seem to be in the suburbs though!

I remember back in the day street racing in Detroit. Joy Rd and Outer, Grand River and Tel, Fort St in Del Rey, to name a few,, before cell phones. I would be out all night following the herd. Happy to see you guys out here. Come back in Spring/Summer, and let me know! I want to see some racing!

Joy and Burt (near outer drive) is real close to home and remember those days well! Earlier on here I mentioned 6 mile and tele, plymouth and outer drive...we were both at the same spots then following the herd!
I use to watch them race on Grand River by the cemetery when I lived in Farmington Hills. The car cruise scene in is off the hook in the summer months!
You guys must come back. I feel like we didn't rep the D correct. Very few races and no final on deck. Bring it Kyle.

@@nicholasfoley7105 unfortunately for Detroit it is pretty common I don't live in Detroit but close enough where I'm driving thru at night all the time and I hear gunshots almost every time I drive thru there That being said I never feel like I'm in any real danger even when the shots are close by bc its always for a reason may not be a good reason but almost no one is out just shooting random people

Seeing this brought back plenty memories of old school hardcore racing on French road and Lynch road , east outer drive until the sun came up great weekends on the East side of Detroit !

An old vhs tape was made around 1990 with my friend Mike's pinto racing a ninja 600. First night for a simple 125 plate of spray and the car stood up on the bumper, came down twice and smashed the "headers by butch". The bike won that night, lol.
Also 6mile just a block east of telegraph, on west side.
There were many more spots too on the west.
Of course french rd and others are remembered too like you mentioned.

Reminds me of racing 25-30 years ago. No huge power, normal cars and not being hassled. Well we never had gunfire.

As a lifelong resident of Detroit I'm excited as all get out to sit down and watch this episode! For myself it's been a few years since tearing up these mean streets. Due to disability the old body has pretty much sidelined myself to stand back and watch. For sure this vid is gonna bring back some good memories!

That orange 55 just feels right! I first saw that car in 04 I believe? If a person don't like that car then they are dead.
2nd edit : second spot starting around 14:40 looks like i-75 service drive north at clay? Can anyone confirm? Later in the vid Kyle is narriating in front of i-75 north entrance ramp sign so I must be close! I forgot the actual street name where launch pad is but that is the exit and name of spot, Clay ave. Saw American Axle plant a little later so yeah, confirmed.
This vid is one of my all time fav from 1320 so far! Loving this!
Final Edit : I could go on and on about this vid, and apologize for being too long and too nostalgic. However I must say THIS is the classic street racing I remember that always has been Detroit Style!
Get it done and gone, awesome attitudes from all present, fast small tire cars, screw the weather/temperatures, and prolly the most important is Everyone gets along no matter who you are!

I use to race with my man in the blue Camaro 20 years ago. Hope all is well my man. If you see this I was the guy with the green 72 Chevelle with the gold hood that was always with Wesley and chucky Davis. Glad to see your still out there wish I was! ✌️

so my guess for the "street car" full interior cars; there is a large "cruising" culture in Detroit. We have short summers, so getting the cars out and driving when it is nice is a local past time.
