& I thought what’s there to talk about scooters, but I’m surprised to discover such aspects of commutes… also guys Kudos to Shumi & Rishab for doing 55 & 80 kms daily. Your work is inspiring, incredible and I am so proud to be a part of this
Best review of the new ather.. these guys are so so so so good . This is literally the top gear of India. You guy's are in your element and it's such a god dam awesome format. You are getting the best motor information in India. This is international level.. just so good. My only question is why don't they have 100 million followers already .. this is just logical..
I had a very interesting experience with the Ather 450X, in that I didn't own it, but rented it out for 2 months from an EV rental startup here in Bangalore. Since I was renting it, there was no 'home charger' set up for me, and I was fully reliant on the fast charging network. On the whole, I wouldn't call it a pleasant experience. There were countless times when I had 5kms left on my Ather and the nearest charging port was 5kms away, and those made for some really stressful rides (I would feather the throttle for a few moments and then coast for as long as possible). There were times when I reached the fast charger only to realize that it wasn't working, or there was an hour's wait to use it. I guess most of these problems would be solved if I had owned it and had a home charger. But personally, I would rather choose a non-EV scooter and have the peace of mind of knowing that there will always be a petrol pump around the corner. Range anxiety can be a very real thing, as it was in my case!
My father stopped using scooter 5 years back after stunt (he is 70 now) as he was scared to pull back the bike from parking which should add to his strain. Last year one of my friend got Ather and I was super impressed with reverse with touchscreen. I immediately thought of buying one for my father and asked him; he had already adjusted his lifestyle to ordering evening snack by Zomato/ swigy; made friend with auto person who can come with prior appointments if not Ola/ Uber I guess he would have continued to use scooter even now if we were aware of revers / parking assist. Information is everything 😊
Superb conversation.. very very logically put.. I'm one of those who like all the gadgety things that 450x gives like the TFT screen, google maps visualisation but okay with 90km real range.. So I have actually changed my pre-order from 450S to a 450X 2.9kW.. I suspect going by the market's love for touchscreens etc., 450X 2.9kW might do quite well too..
Excellent review. The reverse function needs to be a "double tap" with the first tap simply being ignored. Maybe an easy firmware update could fix this?
I have been loving this format of review before a review. I think it is allowing for Shumi and Kinghee to ask questions of the other, from an experienced place, that brings out the relevant parts, while still being a fresh First Impression. Great Work! P.S. - Doth my eyes deceive me? What bet did Shumi lose that made him wear a Steelbird?
Genuine, precise and informative feedbacks and not just promotional marketing of the products like other channels. Really enjoying this format from MotorInc...🔥 Request please also share Ola products feedbacks.
I concur with the points made. As an Ather 450x owner, I can verify their subpar after-sales service. In the last two months, Ather has transformed into a SAAS-like company, charging for various aspects. This is troubling considering my initial investment of 1.72 lakh rupees for the scooter. Ather's current offerings: >Emergency Support: 999/- >Connected features (App + Ride Stats, etc.): 1999/- for 3 years >Charging: 1/- per minute >Additionally, scooter parts are exorbitantly priced. For instance, replacing a single side of the rear-view mirror cost me 749 rupees recently. Not far are the days when instead will change its users for riding the scooter. Fin!
1. Charging per minute of fast charger seems clever. But I think Ather is playing a trick here. I own a Gen3 450X. And earlier it used to charge from 0-80% with constant speed. Since billing started, they charge up to 70% with regular speed. But for 70 to 80 it takes 20 min. Really slower. And since you need to pay for the time you used the charger, not for the electricity units consumption, you end up paying more. In terms of numbers, last week I plugged in at 15% and disconnected at 76% (reluctantly). It took 58 min. By the speed mentioned on the Ather website 1.5km/min, I could even charge from 0 to 80 in
Hey Sanket! That’s interesting. Has this happened repeatedly? Have you brought this up with Ather? Would be good to have their take on it. And thanks a ton for sharing here. Would be great if other users could also share their take. Appreciate it!
Charging Per Minutes accha idea nahi hai kyuki Maine abtak (8 months me) 15-16 Grids use kiye hai sab jagah same speed nahi milti. Abhi recent ka hi 18 Aug (60min 67% + 10min 3%😵💫) 19 Aug (40min 55%) aur 21 Aug (45min 50-52%)
14:45 Vida(Hero) also has a good approach where one prepays for the charging slot for a fixed period after which another person can simply pull out the charger from your vehicle and charge their vehicle. This way you don't overpay cause you forget to take out your charger or werent available to unplug the charger without causing any inconvenience to another person!!
Good point! We believe Ather's now unlock the charger plug once charging is complete so you can unplug someone else's fully charged scooter and charge yours even if they're not around
@@motorincather ne bich me Remote Charging unlock aise kuch InLab main interested ho ya nhi option diya tha, But wo baad me remove kar diya. Iska matlab Wo testing kar rahe honge.
Such a beautiful & sane conversation, putting everything in perspective. Mind you they did not even walk around the scooter. These two know their stuff. Great Oratory skills/ very crisp. 🙏
When I visited Experience Centre few days back on a peak hour days Ather 450S was sitting lonely and walked customers was surrounding 450X I was shockingly surprised I think 450S job is to make 450x look VFM If you could digest 450S pricing 450X will be the one with just a little push to wallet I'm 90% sure sales figure of 450X>450S
Looking at the length of the video… thought of breezing through … but once you start you are hooked up … only one thing makes that possible…. QUALITY CONTENT
22:41 what you said here is already happening in IT's just for a reference (iCloud > iPhones And G-Drive > Android ) it is still in a least smaller scale but it's coming fast, " You might just need a best interface medium like a Screen/Display unit with input/touch interface -> which will be connected via satellites all over (over the air interface) and entry processing and storing and everything will be done by air/internet (over the air interface) and we just needed to buy the interfacing module no subscription based and updates with every generation "
I am an owner of 450X with 3.24kwh battery . I dont know why no one talks about this model . This model was short-lived and we still own a 450 X but we don't get some features that 3.7kwh battery model has. I don't know why every 2 wheeler enthusiasts has disregarded this model completely and I dont know how Ather is trying to differentiate this model from the current model .
Loved the video❤, just one correction, 450X 2.9 and 3.7 are entirely same in terms of motor, power 6.4 KW on both, torque 26 Nm on both, tyres etc. Only difference is the battery capacity, 3 Kgs more weight in 3.7 due to bigger battery and the charger provided with it, with 3.7 one gets around 700W chargers, whereas with 2.9 it’s something like 350 W, as I have got the 2.9 last month:D
Honestly I think 450S 3.7 will make a lot of sense, like I'm currently a 450X owner and i love my scooter, but my mom and dad sometimes have a difficult time operating it, coz galti se screen touch ho gaya and they've got no idea ki yeh ab kis menu main aa gaye & now they have to video call me ki beta yeh kya hua. So basically if there was a 450S 3.7 I get the performance & speed and they get the ease of use, isn't it?
The points which you guys mentioned in these videos are so relevant.. Not sure why ather, the brand, thinks all that they do is what customer exactly wants! The design seriously looks outdated now n m surprised that they kept the same design for ather s too. The range seriously needs to touch atleast to 150km. We are paying so much for the bike! I do not understand the purpose of Ather S. It does not look like they are launching this scooter for ppl. It looks like they are launching it for themselves. They have cut down on the main "Ather" features and still selling the bike for around 1.4L Also, they should have been also focusing on scooter with removable battery Govt said provide the charger for free, ather started doing it but then made the main features a part of its pro pack. So eventually we will have to pay the same amount as earlier of sacrifice on the features. It feels like Ather is still concentrating on money making rather than customer satisfaction. Rather than actually delivering what customers wants, they launch a scooter with less features and range and then say this is what customers wants according to our data.
Hi.. ather teased 3 features in their Gen3.1 launch January event 1.Cruise control 2.Advance regen 3.Crawl mode None of the above features are released yet and neither they are planning to launch them to their existing scooters even not for the gen3.1 which they launched in January 2023 only. What is your view on this. All those who bought ather instead of ola thinking they will also get the cruise control and advance regen are left behind. Gen3.1 is only 7 month old and now ather is not even providing the coasting regen features to its present flagship model. Please share your view point on this.
Superb lineup of consideration points you guys. Kudos. But I did have one bit of juvenile, low-hanging observation. If they released 2 more bikes called the Ather E and Ather Y, it would create quite the revolution 😁
Additional payment for unlocking the performance seems reasonable but making a subscription out of it and selling that is mess which is in play by cars like Mercedes and BMW
I'll trust no one with this question except you guys. Would love to hear a discussion about how much sense does it make for an Activa owner to replace it with an Aether or Ola.
Hey man love your videos❤ Can you make 1 podcast about RE Hunter 350 as I know you didn't like the bike at all. Still it became bike of the year. I want to understand the reason behind both these questions. I am also planning to buy this bike as my budget is 2L and can't exceed that and I like retro sports kind of bikes. I am a 24 year old working man.
These guys r going to be responsible for my wallet getting lighter. 4 months before i had zero inclination towards 2 wheelers but all has changed now. Love my hatchback. The only thing stopping me from getting a 2w now is the safety aspect family keeps harping abt.
23:38 The reason all Athers will have the same hardware is because it will be cheaper for Ather to buy 1 SKU of board/chip for all variants & put a software lock in place. Reasonable argument, its product segmentation. It will also reduce assembly line complexity & need simpler ERP. It costs Ather rupees what they will sell for thousands. Fair, that is how brands make profits. BUT I HATE THE IDEA OF SUBSCRIPTION MODELS ON A VEHICLE. Its just the manufacturers strategy to keep milking money from us. An add on software suite above the basic software that though not necessary for operating & using the vehicle but gives nice to have features behind a software lock is understandable. In this situation I pay a 1 time fee/price, you unlock it & its stays that way. Not you have to pay for it monthly like Netflix, that is not acceptable.
Good points and we see why people would start out hating subscription models. But as Apple is showing (iOS users pay more online that Android, so better example), we accept subscriptions quite naturally for software. We're struggling more to accept the same for hardware, but that will change too. Most software services today, in fact, are monthly subscriptions anyway.
This mode of review is amazing and calm, i can even put on my earphones and cook while listening to the discussion. @MotorInc i am really waiting for your review on Hero Vida electric scooter as well. love the Ather 450 but removable batteries is what i am looking for.
I guess subscription based if I may call it, is a good start. You pay what you use especially in VFM based economy, not anymore though as we are ramping up everywhere but still lot of areas to be covered. Grt podcast as always
I guess the correct question is can Ather provide a large battery with good management system which can sustain continuous Highway speed of say 75 to 80 kmph even though this means that the actual range you get is somewhere in the ball park of 60 to 65% hence a bigger battery pack will ensure acceptable range with ice level maintenable speeds
Been waiting so long for 450S and its intro video from MotorInc to come. Beautifully explained all possible details as of now (with some questions still in my mind that Ather needs to clear). Can you tell without pro pack how much time the portable charger will take to charge 450S 0-80%?
Ather 450s has a real range of 70 kmph with a price of INR 129999 The new ola s1x 2kw has a real range of 70 kmph with a price of INR 79999. No doubt ola keeps topping the sales chart.
First of all, kudos to the entire team for this new format.. in love with it❤️ Also I have a question, I am in the market for a scooter for my father who is a senior citizen, his daily usage is around 15-20km. Should I consider the electric scooters Athers or the TVS iQube? Or should I go for the ICE scooter? Thank you in advance!
for traveling in your community you need a electric scooter, for office you need a sport bike, for weekend you need off rider, for longer rides you need cruiser and extra fun with adventure's. When did India moved to this thought rather thinking one bike for all?
Way off topic but interesting…feature enable disable saga .Processors in fact are graded during manufacturing, the die has all the cores but some of them are disabled based on whether it passed all the parameters. The dies with all the cores fully characterised and passed are sold as top of the line and rest as lower ends . For a while intel did this with core i5 and i7 . I5 was a i7 with a few disabled cores. Some AMD processors allowed to enable disabled cores via bios on high end gaming boards .
I see an opportunity for Byju's - A course for prospective buyers to understand Ather's options, and then another on how to use its features. And then IIMs can run a course on how to get a billion USD funding for athery/oly kind of startups.
I am already worried about what the future holds. Imagine sitting in an automobile & it’s pouring down. You have the windshield wipers but they aren’t working cause you haven’t subscribed to it 😂. I still very much like the concept of fill it, shut it & forget it.
It will be interesting to see how long these batteries last. Now that the range is shorter you will have more charging cycles. And with higher charging cycles the charge retention capacity of the battery reduces and so does the efficiency of the batteries. In the end you might be better off with the larger batteries which do not as much charging as the new ones do.
Great video and interesting thoughts on the new pricing model. How does aging (say after 10 years of use) of the batteries impact range and speed? Any thoughts?
Ather's said that their customer data suggests that their batteries are going well above the SOC degradation they were expecting at 5-6 years and 7-8 years should be when the battery hits 70% of max SOC at which point it needs a replacement. At which point you'll pay 40-60% of the cost of the vehicle to get a new battery. However, given how new the EV market is, we'd discourage people from thinking of these early electric vehicles as a 10-year keeper kind of vehicle. We suspect that so much improvement will happen in the next few years that most people will simply move on

Selling grazia 125cc ice driven 31k buying ather 450s for a daily commute of 45-50kms looking as an investment to save money. Will it be a smart move.?
Nope, u r spending 130k thinking electrics run cheap, maybe yes, but in next 5 years or maybe 6, then u need to put 50% price into a new battery or worse a new scooter It might only work for u if u drive it so much daily and exploit the scooter throughout its life but dont buy ev as investment or money savers, they are not
Hullo MS! With your heavy daily usage an EV will help save a lot on running costs. It will take a couple of years to recover the additional cost though. Keep in mind that EV range will limit flexibility too.
What’s your thought on something like simple one , given so many instances their CEO is making false promises and again started looking at next gen without addressing current lot . Anything u heard from them are they going to challenge Ather’s or Olas in future
The 1 rs/min is brilliant considering 0-80% takes around 1hr to 1hr 15 mins. So youre paying around rs 60 for around 80% charge and the last 20% takes it own 40-45 mins which now comes at a premium. It's good to encourage customers to move out at 80% charge from both a keep your battery health good standpoint and freeing up the charger also
The ather charging is capped at 80% by default… u can’t go over it… it’s called optimised scooting… the moment ur scooty senses a public charger it is capped… also you require about 3 units to charge your scooty from nothing to full which comes out to 15 rupees… keep in mind the charger takes a minute a percent on the local fast charger and gst on top of it… coming to 100 Rs a charge exactly… Do u think anyone in their right mind would pay 100 for 80% instead of 15 for a full charge… It just disincentivises people from using the public chargers and taking their vehicles far… visit ather charger post August 1st and u will know what I mean…
Only if you turn on Optimised Charging. If you turn it off, you can charge the scooter to full -- we often do this on shoot days because action shots usually consume the full available range on almost all of the EVs we've tested. Also, international data suggests, Mayukh, that the fast chargers on the highways may enable longer trips, but in-city fast chargers do more for your mental peace than actual EV use, which are overwhelmingly charged at home
@@mayukhdas3765 in chennai the grid monetization is already live bro. I have 4 of these scooters running around for my company. 80% cap no longer exists for the paid grid implementation. We do pay around 40-60 rupees to charge it to 80% because you never take the scooter to the grid at 0%. I don't expect to pay the same amount that I would pay at home. Offcourse charging at home is going to be cheaper, why would charging at the fast charger be the same. Think about it, there is a cost to install the fast charger, they have to pay the land lord something, they have to maintain the said charger and above all it's gonna be running at commercial rates. I think the price of around 60 rupees to charge to 80% is very good. After the monetization we are glad since we no longer see people hoarding chargers. Myself and our employees have had much better experience with finding available chargers now than in the past 1 year of us using ather's
@@mayukhdas3765agreed, it's almost paying for a litre of petrol, which inturn would give 2 days worth of travel easily on 40-50, while this can't hold up that much Ather tries so hard to be different (like apple inc. obviously) that it's become frustrating, the spares parts are too damn high, there's no coordination between the dealer and the hq, and most importantly the charging price, which is by far the ridiculous thing i have ever seen, you see a charger even DC fast chargers (one with 60kw or above for cars) and even they are priced reasonably at 15-18 rs./kw or units which is the standard ... Pricing based on kwh or units, now imagine paying the same amount for a 2kw fast dc charger 🤡🤡 you are essentially paying what the car guys are paying to fill up their till 100% The simple solution is to wait for the vida chargers i think, that might be a better option overall
Is IQube S a good value for money right now? The riding purpose would be about 20-30KM a day at best in tier-2 city, and it will be used for family riding (Husband and Wife) or should I wait to see how the 450S full review? I have also heard that the IQube service isn't that great in general, is it true?
iQube is more family-friendly whereas the Ather is sportier and more fun Priyadharshan. The buzz about TVS SErvice is that they're not great, across products and brands 🤷🏽♂️
Hi @motorinc the point raised by shumi regarding the hardware being present but the customer has to pay for the software to enable that, Tesla uses the same formula for the Autopilot features, I think Ather is trying to follow tesla in this regard
I was planning to 450s but now Rizta is around the corner shall I wait for that. Also, the FAME 2 subsidy is getting over on 31st March. Opinions, please.
I am having the Ather 450X Gen 3 (not the gen3.1 or the latest 450X 3.7), while purchasing the scooter the sales executive who was explaining me about the 2 models which at that time were 450X and 450+ told me that the Ather 450X has the Bluetooth feature and it is not covered in the Connect Subscription plans it comes with the Scooter itself and I do not get the Bluetooth option in the 450+. Now for the past 3-4 weeks the Bluetooth in my scooter is not working, like the Bluetooth is not turned off automatically even though I turn it on and I cannot able to connect my phone with the scooter because of this issue. But only now I understand y this issue has been happening to me, because through this video I got to know that there is plan called "Pro Pack" and only if we purchase that the Bluetooth facility will be available for us. But actually according to me it is not fair because when I was purchasing I have been told that the Bluetooth option in the 450X is default and it does not need any subscription plan to avail the Bluetooth option facility. Just because they introduce a Pro Pack Option now or any time after I bought a scooter, it doesn't mean for them to induce that Pro Pack thing to every Other customers who have bought their scooters before the time they have come up the thing "Pro Pack". It is truly unfair and bizarre. It is absolutely a thing that they are not keeping up to their word or they are behaving in a way that they do whatever that want to and the owners should follow their actions accordingly without showing any reaction. I mean how can they do something like this without even giving an intimation or anything that is concerned with the owner's ownership. They are clearly getting back on their word and they are not keeping up to their word.
I love ather regarding performance durability with dashing look's. One thing disappointing me to buy ather 450s is 9hours charging and to but fast charger we have to pay extra (but not in chetak with similar price) And i want 450x with 3.7kw battery in digital display do not want touch screen. Please share my feedback
The initial reviews suggest that the Olas are still overheating and asking you to return to lower modes. In which case, we've no further interest in their scooters until they fix basic issues.

Don't do this yet Milsar. It's too early and the motorcycle products with electric powertrains are not ready for a 100km commute at a reasonable price yet. Stay tuned, we'll have a story that clarifies this soon

Hey Aadi! Interesting. Guessing you were in an apartment complex? How has your transition back to a regular scooter been?
My father stopped using scooter 5 years back after stunt (he is 70 now) as he was scared to pull back the bike from parking which should add to his strain.
Last year one of my friend got Ather and I was super impressed with reverse with touchscreen. I immediately thought of buying one for my father and asked him; he had already adjusted his lifestyle to ordering evening snack by Zomato/ swigy; made friend with auto person who can come with prior appointments if not Ola/ Uber
I guess he would have continued to use scooter even now if we were aware of revers / parking assist. Information is everything 😊
Thanks... that's a very insightful story for us.... and we do hope you can convince dad to get back on it!
It makes sense for those with low mileage commutes.
Excellent review. The reverse function needs to be a "double tap" with the first tap simply being ignored. Maybe an easy firmware update could fix this?
Happy Independence Day Motorinc!!
Wish you continue growing in reach and depth, we as a nation need you.
Hey Harish! Happy Independence Day to you too! And, ❤️. Thank you.
Really enjoying this format from MotorInc...🔥
Request please also share Ola products feedbacks.
I've read the 450s has slimmer (2020-21 ather 450x) tyres, which helps it with the range. Pictures show that too!
Good catch Harshit! The X has the 100/90-12 at the back whereas the S has the 90/90-12, just like the front
I watched this video before and after buying Ather 450S, can relate everything what they said. More informative compared to sales person in showroom.
Wow! Thanks Psavansun! That's awesome!
I concur with the points made. As an Ather 450x owner, I can verify their subpar after-sales service. In the last two months, Ather has transformed into a SAAS-like company, charging for various aspects. This is troubling considering my initial investment of 1.72 lakh rupees for the scooter.
Ather's current offerings:
>Emergency Support: 999/-
>Connected features (App + Ride Stats, etc.): 1999/- for 3 years
>Charging: 1/- per minute
>Additionally, scooter parts are exorbitantly priced.
Yes, but that's only when the SoC is 80%
@@motorincather ne bich me Remote Charging unlock aise kuch InLab main interested ho ya nhi option diya tha, But wo baad me remove kar diya.
Iska matlab Wo testing kar rahe honge.
I think Athers design is timeless. It was always ahead of its time. Also, undoubtedly 450 is the best E- product in the market 😊.
Agreed on both counts! But eventually, even the Ducati 916 needed to be updated 😊
I feel the 450S will create a new segment for Ather. The entry level guys who want a good product at a decent price
Super insight on where the industry is heading...great work Motorinc!
Thanks MKN!
God do I love this format ! Great job guys !
Glad to hear it! thanks SJ!
Such a beautiful & sane conversation, putting everything in perspective. Mind you they did not even walk around the scooter. These two know their stuff. Great Oratory skills/ very crisp. 🙏
Hey Prakash! Thank you for taking time out to write in. Means a lot!
Please do the same type of episode for Ola Electric. It's much needed!
Can do!

Happy independence day brother

Everawesome video as always! Keep it going, folks ❤
Thanks so much!
When I visited Experience Centre few days back on a peak hour days Ather 450S was sitting lonely and walked customers was surrounding 450X
I was shockingly surprised
I think 450S job is to make 450x look VFM
If you could digest 450S pricing 450X will be the one with just a little push to wallet
I'm 90% sure sales figure of 450X>450S
So you're on Kartikeya's side of the bet! Awesome!
@@motorinc Yes indeed
He predicted it ahead
Looking at the length of the video… thought of breezing through … but once you start you are hooked up … only one thing makes that possible…. QUALITY CONTENT
Thank you so much!
22:41 what you said here is already happening in IT's just for a reference (iCloud > iPhones And G-Drive > Android ) it is still in a least smaller scale but it's coming fast,
" You might just need a best interface medium like a Screen/Display unit with input/touch interface -> which will be connected via satellites all over (over the air interface) and entry processing and storing and everything will be done by air/internet (over the air interface) and we just needed to buy the interfacing module no subscription based and updates with every generation "
This video addressed so many of my queries and more!
Oh damn! Thanks CB!
@@motorinc anytime:D
Honestly I think 450S 3.7 will make a lot of sense, like I'm currently a 450X owner and i love my scooter, but my mom and dad sometimes have a difficult time operating it, coz galti se screen touch ho gaya and they've got no idea ki yeh ab kis menu main aa gaye & now they have to video call me ki beta yeh kya hua. So basically if there was a 450S 3.7 I get the performance & speed and they get the ease of use, isn't it?
Good point Sambhav! We hadn't thought of that!
They have cut down on the main "Ather" features and still selling the bike for around 1.4L
Also, they should have been also focusing on scooter with removable battery
Govt said provide the charger for free, ather started doing it but then made the main features a part of its pro pack. So eventually we will have to pay the same amount as earlier of sacrifice on the features.
It feels like Ather is still concentrating on money making rather than customer satisfaction. Rather than actually delivering what customers wants, they launch a scooter with less features and range and then say this is what customers wants according to our data.
Hi.. ather teased 3 features in their Gen3.1 launch January event
1.Cruise control
2.Advance regen
3.Crawl mode
None of the above features are released yet and neither they are planning to launch them to their existing scooters even not for the gen3.1 which they launched in January 2023 only.
Hahaha! We think that's a musk try naming scheme
Is it worth Buying 450s after extra 20k Offer which they announced Today...??
These guys r going to be responsible for my wallet getting lighter. 4 months before i had zero inclination towards 2 wheelers but all has changed now. Love my hatchback. The only thing stopping me from getting a 2w now is the safety aspect family keeps harping abt.
😂 Let us know which bike did you end up purchasing.
BUT
I HATE THE IDEA OF SUBSCRIPTION MODELS ON A VEHICLE.
Thank you! We're waiting for Hero's test bikes to come
After watching this video with the price cut Ather 450s is the scooter you should look for.
I guess subscription based if I may call it, is a good start. You pay what you use especially in VFM based economy, not anymore though as we are ramping up everywhere but still lot of areas to be covered. Grt podcast as always
Exactly! Glad you enjoyed that!
Such class in this channel. So curious to know the mic placement. Audio is so clear but can't locate a mic. How do you guys do it?!
Trade secret !
5hrs
Ather 450s has a real range of 70 kmph with a price of INR 129999 The new ola s1x 2kw has a real range of 70 kmph with a price of INR 79999. No doubt ola keeps topping the sales chart.
We don’t recommend deciding on the basis of spec sheets. Ride and decide.
Charging per minute is smart
First of all, kudos to the entire team for this new format.. in love with it❤️
Also I have a question, I am in the market for a scooter for my father who is a senior citizen, his daily usage is around 15-20km. Should I consider the electric scooters Athers or the TVS iQube? Or should I go for the ICE scooter?
Thank you in advance!
The iQube S with no touchscreen and softer suspension will probably work better for your father, Rakshith
In terms of long term reliability and service which is the best to pick :
1) ather 450s
2) iqube
3) s1 air
for traveling in your community you need a electric scooter, for office you need a sport bike, for weekend you need off rider, for longer rides you need cruiser and extra fun with adventure's. When did India moved to this thought rather thinking one bike for all?
Spot on! This is a crazy way to approach life, no? That without the right, specialised too, the activity is jus not possible... nuts!
Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent analysis. One addition 450S have the older Gen2 Tyres.
Correct! 90-90/12s front and back whereas the X now has a 100/90-12 at the back
great job while talking about all details possible but it would be amazing if we get riding video or demo as well adding on top of talking
Thanks for the suggestion!
I see an opportunity for Byju's - A course for prospective buyers to understand Ather's options, and then another on how to use its features. And then IIMs can run a course on how to get a billion USD funding for athery/oly kind of startups.
🤣
I am looking for preowned kawasaki z800 ,can you suggest price i should pay if the bike is in good condition?
When are you guys dropping the merch??

I am already worried about what the future holds. Imagine sitting in an automobile & it’s pouring down. You have the windshield wipers but they aren’t working cause you haven’t subscribed to it 😂.
I still very much like the concept of fill it, shut it & forget it.
😂 That'll be ridiculous.
Yes, that's the real fact. Well said. I, too, was thinking the same.
We suspect that so much improvement will happen in the next few years that most people will simply move on
@@motorincthis sounds like Schumi, have you folks considered signing your initials or something at the end of your replies like some of the communities do?

What do you think about auto hold feature for hilly areas? Should it be given as standard feature? Will it boost sales of these scooters?
Selling grazia 125cc ice driven 31k buying ather 450s for a daily commute of 45-50kms looking as an investment to save money. Will it be a smart move.?
Nope, u r spending 130k thinking electrics run cheap, maybe yes, but in next 5 years or maybe 6, then u need to put 50% price into a new battery or worse a new scooter
It might only work for u if u drive it so much daily and exploit the scooter throughout its life but dont buy ev as investment or money savers, they are not
Hullo MS! With your heavy daily usage an EV will help save a lot on running costs. It will take a couple of years to recover the additional cost though. Keep in mind that EV range will limit flexibility too.
Ather had a TPMS system.. does it still come with the S and integrate into the screen or we just forget about it 😅
We'll have to check, but we'd assume it would not work with the LCD screen -- the demo videos we say didn't show TPMS integration at all.
every time I see an Ather on road, I cant help but wonder how thin do you have to be to not look fat while riding it
🤣
What’s your thought on something like simple one , given so many instances their CEO is making false promises and again started looking at next gen without addressing current lot . Anything u heard from them are they going to challenge Ather’s or Olas in future
At the rate they're going, they're challenging themselves to deliver scooters... they won't challenge rivals until they solve that 🤷🏽♂️
@@motorinc totally I second that
I love how the suspension on this scooter feels (brand new) so any suggestions on how i can maintain this level of smoothness in the future.
Be careful with the big bumps and take it smooth @ronniechatterjee6490... That's all you can do for any vehicle.
A 30 min first ride review, phew!!!!,that's a first from Motorinc

Thank you so much 😁
Try Sonic, Sir. I bet you love it.
After refering ur videos and having test ride of various ev's finally booked chetak
Great 👍 Do let us know how your experience is Sandeep!
Agreed!
@@mayukhdas3765agreed, it's almost paying for a litre of petrol, which inturn would give 2 days worth of travel easily on 40-50, while this can't hold up that much
Ather tries so hard to be different (like apple inc. obviously) that it's become frustrating, the spares parts are too damn high, there's no coordination between the dealer and the hq, and most importantly the charging price, which is by far the ridiculous thing i have ever seen, you see a charger even DC fast chargers (one with 60kw or above for cars) and even they are priced reasonably at 15-18 rs./kw or units which is the standard ... Pricing based on kwh or units, now imagine paying the same amount for a 2kw fast dc charger 🤡🤡 you are essentially paying what the car guys are paying to fill up their till 100%
The simple solution is to wait for the vida chargers i think, that might be a better option overall
At current time what will you suggest between 450s and s1air
Hi @motorinc
the point raised by shumi regarding the hardware being present but the customer has to pay for the software to enable that,
Tesla uses the same formula for the Autopilot features,
I think Ather is trying to follow tesla in this regard
It could be the case.
I was planning to 450s but now Rizta is around the corner shall I wait for that. Also, the FAME 2 subsidy is getting over on 31st March. Opinions, please.
Even am in the same position, but am planning to buy S bcz anyway battery would be same as S and i ride solo most of the time.
Can we take the pro pack on Ather s later or it can be taken only at the initial purchase
Hello sir your thoughts on RIVER INDIE?? Can u please make a video on it….. way too many people seem to like the product

Finally paid charging in Ather grids is really promising, going forward Ather should increase the charging limit to 100% to help long-distance riders.
The Ather naming scheme has been quite confusing. Fixing that would make the lineup more clear in the audience's head.

As an experience - unbeatable. Convenience and comfort? They won’t match modern vehicles. But, you should!
Eagerly waiting for opinion on latest Gen2 Ola and X series, please try to get them out this week

There is no word yet but there are more products in the pipeline.
I have a question for Shumi Sir , can you suggest a good electric motorcycle for my regular commute of 100 kms daily to office.
I prefer motorcycles over scooters.
Don't do this yet Milsar. It's too early and the motorcycle products with electric powertrains are not ready for a 100km commute at a reasonable price yet. Stay tuned, we'll have a story that clarifies this soon
Which would you consider buying either 450S with pro pack or 450x with pro pack!

Also the background…it feels too white. Do it up with a mix of dark, maybe? Just loved the ThisConnect setup. Just my thoughts. So, great review, quite exhaustive in its approach. the fast charger has also a slow mode? Are warranties the same for the 2.9?
Thanks for the feedback!
Fast charger-slow mode... Past 80%, all fast chargers slow down because the battery cannot absorb electricity at the same rate.
2.9 Warranty --yes. 3 yr/30,000km standard vehicle and battery warranty

Hi, Great video. Cleared a lot of things for me. A question: can you please suggest me if Suzuki Avenis 125 is good to go against Ntorq for an all round performance?
Yes it can! The Race XP is a bit quicker but the Avenis is a very nice scooter.... and not slow!
I have a plan to buy a EV in the next 5-6 months. My requirement is an average 30 KM daily run. Can you please suggest which EV should I go for Ather, OLA or I qube or something else you know of.
Ather for a fun scooter or IQube for a practical, less expensive one. That’s all!
