I have a Hemicap shoulder replacement in 2017, and tested now have extremely high levels of cobalt and chromium in my blood-- Chomium levels at 20.8 nmol/L and Cobalt at 19.3 nmol/L . Do your research before agreeing to this surgery.

How long after your surgery was this video taken?

I had it done. Now almost 2 years later I’m going to have to have surgery again. The hemicap wore out the cartilage in the glenoid. So now a glenoid implant has to be implanted

So you originally got the Hemicap only and no gleniod implant?

Yes, 2 reasons they didn’t put the glenoid implant in. 1. I was told my humeral bone sits further back in the socket making it more likely for the implant to come loose.
      2. Because I am very active and young with cycling, Jiu Jitsu and staying in shape that it’s better not to put the glenoid implant in.
Well, as you can see that didn’t work out well. Now I’m being told I need the implant in the glenoid which I was originally told might come loose.
      Shit show....
I can’t believe in 2021 we can’t create an implant that won’t come loose

I had the left shoulder done almost 10 years ago. I am right handed though. I have no pain in the left shoulder. I just had the hemicap, no glenoid implant. The shoulder has shitty range of motion though, but no pain

@@brennanhuff596 I am also active and young for an implant. Blew out my left shoulder with years of bodybuilding and fighting. I am trying to get the right system so I can still be a lesser version of" "what I do" (I know it wont ever be the same).
Thanks for the quick response and good luck!!

Let me know if you come across anything.
I just have seen some videos on arthrosurface and the OVO glenoid implant.
I’m going to see a Doctor here in South Florida that uses that particular device.
I am not kidding when I say I have literally had the best orthopedic surgeons do my surgeries already. They also have implants they use in the glenoid, just not sure how better they will work in comparison to the OVO. I’d like to believe the OVO won’t come loose in comparison to the traditional glenoid implant. I know devices in the end are being sold , and they have to compete with the other device manufacturers. Maybe they really are no different
