:::sigh::: another reissue of Getz & Gilberto. Do I really need another one? NO! Am I going to get it anyway. Yup. Hello, my name is Scott and I am an addict....
Yeah, too bad they cant go back to the 3 tracks. Im passing on this as I have the 33 and 45. Honestly, Im more excited about the OJC series. Hopefully they will do more titles like the Mal 2. Impex does put put some goodies, for me, this just isnt one. I think "it has been reissued hundreds and hundreds of times" says it all for me. But for those who missed the 45, I hope its done well. Impex has a good record (no pun intended)
I have it on open reel. Just released by Hemiolia. Its the reel deal. :) The tape is the best version of this by far. Beyond what I was expecting (and my expectations were high). I'll grab a copy of this Impex release for sure.
Nice idea to add a couple of extra tracks and some unseen photos but honestly, do we really need another audiophile reissue of this great title? I will stick to my AP 2x45 rpm edition which is superb.
Jesus Christ just buy the original mono & stop supporting this same title every single year being reissued NONSENSE. I’m tired of this. I’m not having fun anymore. I’m not having fun anymore.
MIKE !!!! I am totally BUMMED, I just got an email from the In Groove that my RSD Pearl Jam album that showed it shipped a few days ago is now no longer available & my $$ was returned....SO BUMMED !!!!!
Great to hear Nick Getz providing some context for the album. Very interesting. Also nice to hear mention of Focus - that one deserves a modern reissue. Excited for this release, but agree with others that lots of other albums also deserve reissue.
I caught the last presentation in the Luxman room on Saturday. It was interesting hearing Nick Getz explain some of the album and how it came together. I'm glad Abey was visiting our room, as I only had two half days to cover the show and if she hadn't mentioned this to us, I would have missed out on it. I only bought one record at the show--Brubeck's Time Further Out...on Impex. Sounds fantastic!
Nice talk at Axpona, but I wish they had brought Astrud or even Bebel Gilberto as well, would add even more to the panel. Nice video, Mike, as usual. This will join my other copies for sure. Hard to beat that 45, let’s see. I think Getz Gilberto is a tubes/horns record
I have the craft one step of Miles Davis Relaxin', mastered by Bernie Grundman, and I've yet to open it because I heard that it was bright compared to the AP (which I also have and have listened to many times - excellent). My point being that the presentation could be quite different.
I hadn’t realized that they had reissued this album. I should have known better. I’d like a half speed master of this. I found the 1st press in a book store that had albums too. Nice video
Get the 45 rpm by analogue productions. Sounds better than any record I own, including every half speed. Even the 33 sounds better than all of my half speeds.
It makes sense that when you turn the speed up it raises the voice pitch. I put Taylor Swift on and she sounded like a male. I didn't know it was recorded on 45 r.p.m.
I’m sorry but you can’t beat the analog productions so good, I don’t need another one, how about someone doing zeppelin they need analog reissues desperate
I have the Analogue Productions release from some time ago, which I consider my final version. Seriously this reissue is in my opinion pretty useless. It’s always trying to get a better release, but consider that if this master tape constantly used for all these AAA releases, the tape gets more worse with each release.

LOL. Mike had hundreds of the last one that dropped when I was there. The AAA 33 rpm. It’s pretty good, but yeah, they have our number….

Im with you John. New OJC's over another GG reissue allday everyday!
Gotta love it when they reissue in-print records🙄

Fantastic story. Thanks for sharing.

Hope you can do an unboxing / review of the new one step From Elvis In Memphis soon Mike?

I have an early original pressing of this album that sounds amazing. No need for another copy. Great video.
Nice one Mike. Thanks
Oh this is fantastic news!
I really like my OP stereo deep groove.
Exciting title for IMPEX to do!
Still eagerly awaiting your "best pressing" shoot-out for The Doors debut...
From what I gather from Mike, his shootout will align with the Hoffman Forum. Don't think he likes the ERC :)
@@austinhunt4260 I have a hunch ERC won't come in 1st....

Just think about all the great albums that could do with a great quality reissue.
Gotta love collecting vinyl 😢
SO many albums don’t even have one re-issue….I love this album, everyone does. But let’s spread the love
Mr Mike, when is that Doors s/t shoot out coming out 👀

Love the NIck Getz stories.
If all we are going to get is the same tired Jazz reissues then maybe we need to embrace the MOFI/DSD option to get more popular titles.
I caught the spoiler that it seems like they are doing Jazz Samba after this
Any word on when repress of Matador is coming out?
THanks, but I'll have to pass. Chad Kassem's recent pressing is more than enough
I have that album but the brazilian pressing... not in great condition - I wonder how much it is worth it
It makes sense that when you turn the speed up it raises the voice pitch. I put Taylor Swift on and she sounded like a male. I didn't know it was recorded on 45 r.p.m.
I'm starting to understand one step so what is half speed?
Aloha Mike. Off-topic question. I have a Rega RP6 w/Exact cartridge. Any cartridge replacement recommendations? Mahalo plenty.
Zu audio denon. I have it on RP3 and it kills.
Try the Nagaoka carts
Billie Eilish 1st album? Which pressing I couldn’t find a good version. Please tell us Mike
I’m sorry but you can’t beat the analog productions so good, I don’t need another one, how about someone doing zeppelin they need analog reissues desperate
Jimmy Page would have to approve any reissues.
You mention a Billie Eilish album as one of those you go to when setting up or evaluating a system. Which one?
The first one, he says on the video
