I need a comparison between honda 750 transalp and this bmw 900gs Cause I mite have to import it blind without test driving. I have some experience on the Transalp so I can corelate
I always love the big GS but after seeing this F900 in person, I prefer the F900 GS more than the GS1300. The sitting, riding position just fit so nicely with my body. I hope I can get it this year.
Spot on. My DesertX with FULL bars and Bash plate weighs 488 lbs w/5.5 gallons of fuel in the STEEL tank. Has 120hp w/Termignoni de-cat race exhaust and EVO tune. This BMW is almost 1k dollars more then what I paid for my Ducati 10 months ago in the USA.
483 lbs with only 3.8 gallons of fuel? 🤔 My 2023 DesertX with bash plate, crash bars, water pump guard, aux lights, bar bag, heated grips, cockpit accessory bar w/GPS (Garmin/Ducati branded), Termignoni de-cat race exhaust w/EVO tune (120 hp) and 5.5 gallons (steel tank) weighs 488 lbs. There was regular chatter this BMW was going to be significantly lighter then the DesertX, guess that was just wishful thinking.
@@ts-cj2ym Nope. Ever tip a 500lb bike over offroad? Broken mirrors, gouged engine cases, flattened "accessory bars", broken fog lights, busted blinkers, crushed luggage, ruined wind guards, etc. This is bike is at least 300lbs too heavy. It should be closer to 200lbs...wet.
Well overall your comments about the bike were fine but I'm very disappointed when you didn't show or talk about any luggage options for the bike and if it has any hard bags soft bags mounts Etc this is the most disappointing part of this video😢
Wut? They're still made in Berlin, which is still in Germany. Some parts of darn near everything is made in China though. But it's still a German bike and a Germany company.
Bike is too damn heavy, and worse, top heavy. Unloading 31#s is good but not enough. I have an 850 GSA and I fear solo riding offroad because of the weight. It's a great road bike but I'd rather ride a Husqvarna 701 offroad which weighs a lot less.
Always love a Kevin Duke review. Damn, those BMW's are expensive.
Please tell me what is "cheap" in todays world ... maybe Yamaha Tenere T7 for 14kUSD? But the suspension is crap as I had heard on Yamaha.
Short and essential review. I am waiting to try one. Shame for the screen that is not adjustable.

An excellent review. Thanks 😊
The naked subframe like a desert x looks like shit! It's like they left of the plastic panels. I like my T7 way more!
$18k? That makes everything else in the middleweight class seem cheap. Someone should review the base model. Cheers
Great review as always, Kevin Duke!!!

Looks like a Penny-farthing with the 17" rear, why can't BMW speck a 18", stupid...!
No one makes 500lb dirt bikes. That's why.
!! Kevin Duke?? I didn't know Kevin Duke did bike stuff.
Functional hand guards! What do you know?
215mm suspension travel at the rear ... boring! 14.5l fuel tank ... boring! how many kg's you have to add to get a protected bike? boring!
your boring
Zzzz

@@jamescampbell4334maybe nothing those fanboys wonna hear!
imho: those midsize GS models were and still are a waste of money. not the big GS, but the midsizes no doubt.
I rode it, it's amazing and better than the T7, ktm890/690, A/T, and it was cheaper then my 911 dakar.
Why did you like it more then the T7? 🙂
Way more power and handles better at speed, same mpg
What about the new 800? As an adventure/gravel bike?
My goodness it’s ugly
I am waiting on the Adventure version. Likely the 2025 model.
It's already there.
Next year in 2025. I doubt there will be many changes but want one more year with my R1200GS.
Nice bike.
What do you mean pounds?
Cheap ride. Looks good
Good Looking bike.

The bone stock weight from cycle new and other publications is 492 lbs for the desert x. Bone stock weight of the f900gs is 482
Too bad your bike doesn't have a kick starter. Real bikes have kick starters. Also, your bike is at least 300 lbs too heavy for offroad use.
@@JayBee-cr8jmyou cant offroad on 220kgs?

@@ts-cj2ym Most people can't off-road on 500lb bikes.
So you’re not a tall guy, are you 5’2”?
5'8" under light gravity. :)

I think the bmw accessories will come later this year. I haven’t seen anything year on the website.
Does it come with training wheels? I'd like to try off-roading 🙈
Very expensive Chinese bike 🤦♂️
Why do u say so?

I traded my 850GS in for the F900GS. No comparison....its not heavy or top heavy at all. It's awesome!
@@noahnitikman2436yeah I rode one at a demo day and it feels tiny. Kinda like a t7. I was surprised. It top heavy at all.
