Catching this episode way late, but on the subject of regretting medical procedures: I had a heart transplant last year and I struggle with guilt/regret about it all the time
For the record I’m stoked af to have a Machiavellian doctor chop off my breasts. I’ve never looked forward to anything more in my life and my doctor says it’s the most rewarding procedure he does and almost every single patient comes back in tears thanking him and saying how it’s changed their lives. The people who don’t come back are from out of state. It’s such an important procedure for so many people. I’m literally counting down the hours until mine. Someone go slap some FF’s on JP for a few months and see how he feels. In fact, slap them on him when he’s 15 and a 00 waist. I’m not in the slightest trying to brag, it’s been extremely painful and uncomfortable my entire life. He’s essentially saying that his perception of people is more important than a person’s physical comfort. He’s part of why so many people don’t get the surgery because they’ve been told for years they’d be undesirable. I cannot believe this guy is a therapist. He needs to lose his platform.
It makes so much sense that Tates MLM includes reposting his clips ad nauseum. And their discord being a living beast to go raid wherever he’s mentioned.

I love this podcast but damn it makes me so jaded and tired. I've marched with PP since I was a teenager, my mom was an RN there for years. I marched with LGBT+ people, celebrated when marriage equality was enacted. I protested the 2016 election, fought against fascists in Portland and had them open fire on the crowd I was in... I'm so tired, I'm tired of fighting. My parents and grandparents did the same thing and I feel like I'm having to fight the same battles two generations later.
Unfortunately that's the point. They want to wear people down to the point they just can't fight anymore. I'm tired too. My aunt is tired. My friends are tired. Being in a restrictive society is constant stress and fighting until we are worn down to breaking. We can't let the bastards win. Rest when you can and know that you're fighting for something. The military always says freedom isn't free and imo our freedom in our homeland rules more on us fighting fascism here than it is fighting wars in foreign territory
I get you but in a different way. I’m Kurdish and I am constantly on the defence when I’m in public and there is always a protest I’m going to. The human rights issues that affect my people have been ongoing for decades since the end of the world wars and its a generational issue. My dad is the one who first took me to a protest. All of us Kurds all feel exhausted and disappointed. When I was a kid I had no idea and I could be Kurdish obliviously without even realising (e.g. eating Kurdish food, speaking Kurdish, etc, participating in culture) but now I’m knowledgable and its become so political and active that it’s like the 4th wall has broken for my own culture.
I recently had a hysterectomy for health reasons. Can't say it was an easy decision to make, but if I were to listen to bigots like Jordan Peterson, I'd probably end up bleeding to death... All surgeries carry risks and may have potential mental impact on the patient in the aftermath. Though there may be exceptions I am not aware of, under normal conditions a doctor can't force a consenting adult to go under the knife. It's purely up to the patient to decide what's best for them. p.s. we missed you! 💜
@@gtabro1337 why would you ever assume that about Peterson?! His whole thing that started his career is transphobia. I.E. he wants to deny people life saving procedures. The only treatment for that kind of gender dysphoria is transition and he wants people to just suffer it until they die. He just came out against an adult's right to consent to a masectomy!
The whole "life starts at conception" thing is so weird. The egg is alive and so is the sperm, but we don't rush to find ways to preserve every single egg or sperm so none of them "perish" or die. Why is it suddenly different for a fertilized egg that isn't even a baby yet? Or why is it when adult people who are brain dead legally considered dead when an even less developed fetus is considered alive.
I used to be able to laugh at Peterson, but he's gotten so hateful and just seems filled with rage whenever he speaks that I feel that rage spreading to me.
I'm 37 years old and even though I want children, I've decided to get my tubes tied. It's heartbreaking for me but I refuse to let anyone dictate my body for me. If I can't have a child on my terms, then I refuse to carry one at all. Seems as though there will sadly be an abundance of babies to choose from to adopt once all of these women/girls are forced to give birth.

so insane. although a 10 yr old can get pregnant, she would have likely died had she been forced to carry into 2nd & especially in 3rd trimester. i’m from mississippi (yuck i know,) but we literally had ONE clinic in the entire state; and only before 6 weeks; most women had to travel to nashville (memphis is seriously so packed its impossible to get an appointment within the 10 weeks and 6 days law that TN used to have,) arkansas, and alabama. It’s NOT free, you have to have multiple consults and checkups before a doctor even agrees to perform the procedure. i can not believe people out here think women just walk in pregnant as fuck and walk out just fine. NOT HOW IT GOES.

CW: SA The book "My secret garden" (From the 60s) suggested that some SA fantasies in women come from a place of wanting to enjoy sex, but the culture shamed them for that. An SA fantasy is often the exact opposite of not consenting. Instead it's about mentally being given permission to enjoy it, because she takes no "blame" in the scenerio. Atmospheric/climate scientist here, it made my heart so happy to hear y'all talk about the UK heat wave and just how insanely frustrating all of the discourse around climate change is. We're literally all frogs in a boiling pot right now.
Climate acceleration denial is the most successful marketing campaign ever devised . Small solace it will be hard to deny when all of us at the bottom 20 to 30% are standing in line for rations at our “ work and housing mission centers “ ( labor camps ) that will be constructed to keep capital moving the same after overseas sweat labor becomes unattainable due to supply chains , infrastructure and international relations take massive hits from a catastrophe or two .
@@Death_By_Media And if there isn't straight denial there is aggressive green washing. I personally like using reusable bags/straws/etc because using something one time and throwing it away feels wasteful, I'd feel this way regardless, but I'm also aware that my actions have no bearing on "fixing" the climate.
I really do love this podcast, Ethan and Hasan together are so damn funny. But the topics make me feel so black pilled I have to skip out on a lot of them. Including full episodes sometimes. But peace and love always
47:09 It does make sense Ethan. Higher birth rates grow the economy without the need for immigration (think higher profits for their donors). It also keeps labor fungible, and thus... cheap. If the labor pool shrinks, it reduces the supply of labor, forcing businesses to compete more fiercely for the remaining laborers. This in turn, drives up the price of labor, increases cost, and decreases profitability. Lower birth rates can sometimes benefit workers, who can balance a decrease in economic growth with an increase in their wages, but it almost always hurts corporations because they take L's on both fronts.
Good. They deserve the L, as is corpos are gonna kill us all with climate change, so if we have to choose between pushing up the charade or worst case, corpos dying and society having to change, good
I have some Romanian colleagues (I live in Amsterdam, shout out to Hasan for the nice words, thank you king) and I unironically asked one if she knew Cobra tate. And there was a yes. She even followed him and was completely unaware of all the criminal stuff etc. I think a lot of people look up to him and his lifestyle... I informed her of course and now we are jokingly asking eachother for bubble wottah the whole day hahah. It's just funny how people can be so unaware. So you guys are doing God's work here haha.
My favorite flex of Tate is that he has like 12 or 14 or 24, whatever, casinos in Romania. I was in Romania last Fall and casinos are not impressive. They're hole in the wall establishments. It's like owning 14 grimey small town billard bars/clubs that have a dozen or so regulars.
Always love when people argue climate change as climate changes happen naturally, therefore its not a big deal. Not seeing that we are causing change to happen at such a rapid rate, its unnatural. Change is happening too quickly for ecosystems and wildlife to adapt.

Please let us know who it is! Most doctors in Texas, even women have denied me. I'll be 30 next year but I still have faced so much rejection for this procedure. I'm over the fear and I've known FOREVER that I don't want kids.
I think its the child free subreddit, but they have made a list of doctors who will do the procedure without pushback.

The book "My secret garden" (From the 60s) suggested that some SA fantasies in women come from a place of wanting to enjoy sex, but the culture shamed them for that. An SA fantasy is often the exact opposite of not consenting. Instead it's about mentally being given permission to enjoy it, because she takes no "blame" in the scenerio.
This helped me to remove guilt from having "C/NC" fantasies. (Though I still have some guilt about some of the porn)

It also delivers a win for the evangelical base that supports them so ardently
Good.
