There aren't that many Hanzo mains. He doesn't bring much to the table when it comes to group play. Only the highest of skilled players can make him work.

Really good use of the high ground on that last map. Even though some maps might seem like you’re performing worse based on stats, I can see you improving with each game and it’s beautiful

    After watching the first game:
The one tip I would give is to *LOOK* before you wall climb. Why wall climb if you don't know where you're going? Eventually you'll get to know the maps of course... but for now make sure to look. Also, you can just wall climb next to the ledge instead of into the ledge that prevents you from wall climbing. :)
This advise is also helpful for abilities and pulling an arrow... *look* to see if there are any enemies. If not, don't hold an arrow, as it will slow your movement.

    • @fergusgraem3625
      @fergusgraem3625 Месяц назад +1

Wall climb is an ability with no cooldown and mostly used just to get to a stronger off angle or escape dangerous situations. If yiu only use wall climb to battle enemies that are on top of the wall you are climbing you are not using his kit very well

something is really weird with the matchmaking on these games, as they're matching you with really really experienced players. I guess there isn't a big influx of new players nowadays, so it's gonna be a rough learning curve!

The problem is also alt accounts, I recently made a drunk account to mess around on while on the drinks and the first 20 or so games on that account (even while heavily intoxicated) were just embarrassing stomps. I was being put against genuinely brand new players while my account calibrated my mmr. It was BAD to the point I felt the need to apologise to the players I was beating.

I wouldn't really recommend a sniper/long range character to anyone who's new to fps games. They tend to be the hardest to aim with. you did alright though.

Hey! Even as someone who has 60 hours on Hanzo, it is still hard to play him at most times, learning most is where to aim and knowing when to take high ground or low ground. Use your dash and climbing to escape any attacks and fight back. Be patient with your shots and use your dragon wisely, if you’re dragon is too predictable than the enemy team can just go around it, try using your sonic arrow to detect them and take them by surprise by shooting your ult from the side. Though either way it’s a good way to get them off the point/objective if it’s overtaken by enemies. Confidence is key with good teammates. :)

Even as a hanzo main of 200 hours it is still tough for me to hit enemies because of how fast characters are now lol. Im sure you noticed but his sonic arrow reveals enemies through walls IF they are standing near the arrow. With your storm arrow you dont need to fire them all at once you can take your time with each shot. Hanzos ultimate isnt the best ult in the game so you either want to use it to cut off enemies escape routes/ cut them off from their team, use it to bait out support ultimates like zenyattas transcendence, or just launch it into a group of enemies it doesnt matter, when you get better at hitting shots you build ult pretty quick so you can dish them out quickly. I saw another comment say this but for now since youre new and dont know the maps just look at where youre climbing to but to add to it you can also use it to trick enemies following you through doors you can exit then climb the wall beside the door to get the drop of them. As for his lunge use it mainly to get away from enemies or to jump across small gaps (you can also use it after a wallclimb). Another thing im also sure you notice is you do need to lead his arrows as they do have travel time so at a distance farther than directly in your face you do need to aim where the enemy will be rather than where they are unless theyre standing still in which case depending on the distance you might need to aim a little bit upwards as his arrows also fall as they travel. Also you dont want to play super close to the enemies as that one person said but another thing is you dont want to play too far away either because then you will be less consistent at hitting shots. Oh and lastly his default crosshair tells you the arrow drop with the lines below the top one but those are for longer ranges so you’ll likely only use the top 2 and it also tells you when his arrow is fully charged with the little circle becoming smaller around the dot which is where if you hit a headshot on a 250 health target you will instantly kill them. All in all he is a difficult character to learn but can be really good if you become really good with him. Hanzo was the first character i ever played and he is still my favorite character.

Hey Saturn, love to see you using Hanzo as he is my main hero and I almost only play as him. I'm in Australia so I don't even know if a friend request will work or if I could spectate any of your games but I'd love to give you pointers at some point. (I'm not going to pretend I'm the best but I think I can still help). A few tips on how Hanzo is played (at least for me) would be:
    1. Hanzo is a "sniper". Kind of. He's capable of '1-shotting' most DPS characters and I think all support characters with a fully charged headshot. Playing him at range can work like a Widowmaker, but more difficult to hit shots due to projectile travel time and arrow drop off. A good Hanzo player will be able to take care of an enemy Widowmaker quite well and still be useful closer range.
    2. Despite his sniper classification he does work well at medium to sometimes close-range once you get good at hitting shots. Storm arrows become very useful at close and medium-range especially if you're being chased.
    3. His aim is quite difficult to get used to due to the type of projectile. His arrows are very small (they used to be far larger) which means you have to be quite accurate to hit shots and given enemy movement it's not always easy to lad shots. I have a couple of aiming tips I'll put below. Given his aiming difficulties, it is of course a lot easier to hit shots standing still. This is something you don't really want to do close-range but at distance it can allow you to focus more on your aim.
    4. With aim you really want to think before shooting, not spam too much and try to make sure most of your shots are fully charged as this maximises their damage. Because of the travel time of the arrows you need to predict where the enemy will be by the time your arrows arrive, essentially shoot slightly in front of them in the direction they are moving, you'll get used to specifics when you practice. Because of the drop-off over distance you'll also want to aim a little above enemies' heads at distance.
    5. When I play Hanzo I sometimes have to just slow down and take my time with shots to aim for the head rather than just shooting as many arrows as I can. His "one-shot" potential means if you are being chased you can take them out almost instantly (depending on who it is), if you just take a second to charge your shot and aim for the head. This is especially the case with characters such as Moira as her aim locks on and does a specific amount of damage per second. Against her there isn't any point in moving around trying to dodge so you're better off taking time to charge just one arrow to headshot her instantly.
    6. Hanzo is very good at dealing with Tank Heroes. Because of his high damage Hanzo can be very effective at fighting the enemy tank. If you can land a couple of fully charged shots on their tank and then activate Storm Arrows, you can deal a lot of damage to them. It is definitely risky but it can work quite effectively at times.
    7. Positioning is a huge deal in Overwatch and the same is very true for Hanzo. If you are out in the open, you may land some shots but they will likely take you out before you can do too much. His lunge and wall-climb allows him to reach some good vantage points if you look for them. An 'assassin' playstyle can be utilised where you find a spot separate to the main team-fight and try to catch the enemy's weaker heroes off guard. This means you can be stealthy and take more time with your aim as they don't know you are there. Just make sure you are far enough away and have a quick escape route in case they decide to chase you.
I know this was a long comment and you might not even read it, but this hopefully gives a bit of an insight into the methods of playing Hanzo. It can be useful to watch other RUclipsrs' videos on the game to learn more. I particularly like Arrge, he makes Overwatch videos and essentially exclusively plays Hanzo. He has some aiming guides that definitely helped me and is really good with the character. His playstyle might not be as effective to people with less accuracy, however it's still really cool seeing the potential of a really good Hanzo player and you can still learn some things. Anyway great video, I'll be sure to catch more of your streams :)

    Love your videos dude!
One tip for you. Hero’s’ kits have complementary abilities. Try to use these more often. You hit the nail on the head at the beginning of the Numbani game when you said to use sonic arrow to see where the enemy is before ulting through a wall. That’s exactly it! Another example would be to use Mei ice wall ability to trap your enemies then use your ult to freeze them and kill them with ease! Many hero’s have examples like this.
You can then take it to this principle to next level by combining your abilities with your team mates but this takes a lot of time to master! An example would be if you’re playing Lucio and your team mate genji ults you can use amp it up speed to allow genji to close the distance very very fast to catch the enemy off guard.
Id also recommend watching how high level streamers play certain hero’s. Obviously you won’t be able to play like them but at least you’ll understand why and when to do certain things. Yeatle particularly is excellent at explaining concepts.
Ps use high ground more too!

I know you want to try all these characters, and it’s entertaining for us to see you play them all. But maybe as you’re learning the game, getting used to how the game works and improve on your core mechanics, you could try sticking to one hero for a bit? It would let you vastly improve on all I just mentioned. I think your core mechanics and game knowledge would improve the most. Then learning all the heroes will be easier and more fun!

Hanzo and overall projectile heroes (aka those who have bullets that take time to travel and hit) are quite hard to get good at, unless they have like full auto, fast traveling projectiles like Orisa or Sojurn so don't worry about not hitting things.
Take your time and eventually you will learn. In fact every hero takes time to learn in a way so once you test out all heroes to see who fits your desired playstyle, it is reccomended that you keep focusing on few heroes you wanna master 😊

If you want to practice aim, I would recommend playing Cassidy, a so-called "hitscan", whose shots travel instantly to where you are aiming (Soldier 76 is also hitscan). For Hanzo (who fires projectiles) you need to aim, predict the movement of your target, AND adjust your aim in the direction your target is moving (often whilst moving yourself and being shot at), playing Cassidy will remove the last of these tasks.

Hello, long time viewer here. I don't know if anybody suggested this to you but I think it'll be cool if you reacted to some of the hero to hero interactions, it provides a bunch of characteristics and lore to the world, even foreshadowing characters that might appear playable. A channel called Sennti does a good job in compiling a video for each hero. Lots of people react to the cinematics and shorts but I rarely see anybody watch videos like that, I highly recommend it.

Hanzo is best when the enemy dosent know you're there. If they're not expecting you then they won't move as much. Look for some angles on the side of the team fight. Not flanks. Just sightlines that you can shoot the enemy from
This comes with more knowledge of the maps so there's no need to worry, that comes with time

You should use melee whenever you can! It's 40 damage and it's good for finishing kills off or chipping away at enemies/turrets. Say you spend all your ammo and the enemy only has a bar of health left, a melee follow up would be a finishing blow

Even some of the top players won't mess with Hanzo. You have to know the maps more intimately than your girlfriends body. When you start getting better and you accidentally get into a match with similar skilled players, you will feel like a bad@ss. Those are rare games.
