  • Germany, Easter Sunday 2017. With the Birds singing and Church Bells ringing across the valleys, we take a walk from Rüdesheim am Rhein, pausing in Assmanshausen, and following the Rhine Path North to Lorch. This takes us through the Rhine Gorge World Heritage Site.

As I was scrolling down trying to look for your video of Maroon Bells, I saw the thumbnail and description of this video and I am really curious to know. I was hooked, and watched until the end which I normally would do. How long is the hike? this is not the Lorch near Stuttgart right since that's pretty far? very nice video.

This is part of the long distance footpath following the river Rhine (Rhein). We started in Rudesheim and finished this day at Lorch an Rhein before taking the train back to our start. The distance is 22.2 km. Not as far as walking to Lorch near Stuttgart but plenty far enough for us. It was a wonderful day. As we looked over the river to Bingen the church bells rang out as it was Easter Sunday. We did another section of this trail a few days later. It is easy to do sections of this trail as there are hourly train services both sides of the river. Great walks on the opposite side too. You had scrolled past the Maroon Bells to reach this video. Hope you can find it and that you enjoy it if you do. Best wishes from Ivor & Robert.
