    Great summer song.I met a beautiful brown skin lady in 85' and we go to the beach with her in a leopard print one piece suit that showed her trim figure.When this came I would sing along to her.Of course every time I hear it I'm with her at the beach

    Boys of Summer is a classic 80s song! Love watching you react, you get into it! Makes the memory of the music more real, make it feel like the first time again, yeah I'm old, I remember the first time hearing this song, blew me away, my wife and I danced around the living room while this played on the TV.

    The line "saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac" is such a great line and really sums up the irony. Should also check out "Heart of the Matter" is one of his best

      @@swampfizz: You’re right! Henley was referring to the Grateful Dead with that reference. More specifically, he’s “taking a shot” at his generation for “selling out” and giving up on their ideals from the “Summer of Love”.
      It took me a while to figure that one out, but when I did learn it, I can sense the bitterness in that line

    I know our phones listen to us and use our cameras to funnel ads and algorithms our way, but how do they read our minds?? You know it's happened to you. I was thinking heavily about this song yesterday. Not playing it. Not talking about it. Not singing it out loud. Not humming it. Just off in a daydream in my current state of grief and imagining it playing loudly in my mind. Your video pops up on my home feed this morning.

  • @itsmedrooms6071
    @itsmedrooms6071 8 месяцев назад

    The video fully enhances the meaning of the song. It’s his yearning for the love and idealism of the sixties, all the social awareness and push for societal change that basically faded away, giving way to conservatism, Reaganomics etc..that left people of the bygone era jaded and alienated, thus the bleak landscape of the video. It’s really well done and at first listen you don’t get the full meaning, but the video totally puts it into perspective and the meaning is deep… haunted and melancholy.
    Btw, I only got this much later on when I really stopped to think about it, so I don’t expect any reactors to derive any deeper meaning or delve any deeper than the surface references on a first listen, but thank you for doing this one video and all!
