He was the Eagles drummer, but he sang solo a lot too. He has some really good songs.

Think of vacation lake towns that are flooded with tourists....including the Boys of Summer....who leave at the end of summer leaving girls with broken hearts while the local boys - Don Henley - are left to pick up the pieces.

Just to add to the conversation on this amazing track, the last verse Don references the 'Dead head sticker on a Cadillac' relates to a Cadillac he saw with a Grateful Dead (dead head) sticker on. The meaning that a middle class guy in a middle class car still hanging on to his late 60's youth, hence 'Don't look back, you can never look back'

To Me it was a huge letdown from The 70's Music. Dumb repetitive drum machines have no soul. Don is an awesome drummer and the drums here could be played by any amateur. But I guess Having milqtoast taste isn't a crime.

It is Henley's management, especially Irving Azoff's team of lawyers, who pursue these things.

Not everything in 80s music was great. There was a lot of new technology with a great deal of experimentation and there was stuff that musicians thought was good at the time that in retrospect did not actually turn out to be good down the line. Mike Campbell’s guitar playing makes the song great musically.

After the 70's the 80's music was a big letdown mostly to me.
