tips from me (this is a bit long) 1) Always look underwater before you jump into it, there's a chance there might be a white eyes lurking waiting to do some murking. 2) Insanity Range I and beyond can be VERY annoying because of thr Atlatean ships. There's a guarantee they WILL spawn without you noticing, so always watch you back when docking your ship at an island. 3) If your ship can handle it and your competent at ship combat, fight the ships. They will NOT despawn as long as your even relatively near them. The last thing you want is 2 brigs chasing you, as that'll make it impossible to loot. 4) Get Perfect Brewing and Perfect Cooking. You'd be very surpised as to how useful potions can be. Let's break it down. Clearsight: This is a MUST in the Dark Sea. It'll make finding island so much easier, and your much less likely to run into something bad. Invisiblity: For the later insanity ranges, this will make your life so much easier when it comes to looting islands, because you wont have to deal with the Atlanteans if you prefer not to. Do keep in mind though, you'll miss out on the Atlantean Essence. Revealing: Very useful for speeding up the looting system as well as keeping track of your friends. For cooking, invigorating and recovery will be your best friend. Invigorating for swimming and wallclimbing, recovery because...it's heals you faster. I dont wanna make this comment too long so if yall got questions ask.

My friends and I were heading back from a Dark Sea expedition to the first tier. Our insanity wasn’t going away, and our ship was very low but we kept chugging along at a very low HP. After about 15 minutes I looked at the compass. We had been going the wrong way, further into the Dark Sea.
The best tip ever is just to have fun. If you go with the mentality of only looting if you die your day will be ruined but if you are there to have fun you will get so much chests without even noticing
Tip: Go West and sell chests at Shell Island. Nobody goes West which means you can safely get items. There's also a repeatable quest that is easy to complete, allowing you to always see where to go back if you don't have the compass.

just a small tip if you wanna be EXTRA careful about enemy ships in the dark sea. Turn on the music, if you hear the AO main menu music (in this patch) that means a ship is aggroed on your ship and is making its way to your ship. Edit: also if ur in combat against a brig MAKE SURE you are using HEAVY EXPLOSIVE AMMO as your mortar uses the selected ammo my howitzer does like 3k-5k dmg with heavy explosives and makes brig fights so much easier
Did this solo and saw all these things that is in this video like that many chests in one platform, managed to survive getting ganked by 3 Atlantean ships and got more dark chests than what is shown here just for me to get disconnected near the safe zone and lose everything that I've worked hard for.
Heres a tip for light magic users that i learned the hard way: Do NOT use light magic dodge reflex on slopes, i got stuck inside the terrain of the volcano island in the dark sea while i had about 30* dark sealed chests
Another tip is to have the loadout gamepass and get a full agility set to see whats in the island and if you see a mob switch back to your normal armor
High agility like 200 won't be that hard, I'm not sure higher than that adds more. The agility large coat and jacket, agility enchanted fair agility amulet. Will give around 160 agility. You can add some jewels for energy regen with agility jewels optional. Mountaineers boots are the pants with high agility that is cheap. Adding agility to that I think it's below 40. Or your shirt and pants could be for defense or power anything, or you could try reaching 200 agility for that super jump tp.
Regarding what you said on 12:07 of "very heavy" ships, i belive theyre called "armored" because the last time i saw something a higher tier than heavy it was called "armored" and it had notoriety commodores
Craft only 2 luck elixirs at a time and while you're exploring islands, if you find a silver cauldron then use it to brew a more potent luck potion if you happen to have spare scales. Extra tip: A perfect shining flask lasts 9m, which is equal to 80 chests assuming you let the shipwright sell them.
1:54 crazy because when me and my friend were in the dark sea, after 30 minutes in no insanity we had 10 chests and decided to enter insanity one. within another 30 minutes of being there all we found were 2 big tree forests. never ever going back
I’m exactly in your case, you don’t even need to go far in the dark sea to have crazy loot and it allows to avoid the atlantean ship that are simply too dangerous and super annoying to escape. The only downside is the fact you don’t get Atlantean essence.

Then we got attacked by two atlantean brigs and I had to spam all of the boats weapons. my friend jumped on the first boat and killed everyone but the captain and then we attacked the 2nd one on the boat. after destroying that boat and killing the captain we just left. during that we found our first island but couldnt do anything

DO NOT use cargo for repairs from waves, lightning and etc, use your bronze hammer to repair after you finished looting the island. You should reserve cargo for repairs for emergencies only. What considers an emergency? -Getting jumped by a brig while on an island -Getting jumped by multiple brigs Bring some water breathing flasks, not to dive underwater but to save you if somehow you ran out of stamina while climbing or get smited off your ship or get washed away by the waves.

Im maxing out my brig trying to get armored enchant and I hate how much it is overpriced, people want me to pay 20k for it which is scarily close to sunken items price
In a pinch, you could use the askew roots for the luck chance, or mystery brew from prismatic geodesic. Luck 4 is best for getting exotic scrolls, Luck 5 is best for getting armors but you'll have less scrolls
Another tip for the dark sea is to bring splash/gel slowness potions. You can use them on atlanteans for an eaiser fight or to run from them. this also works with atlantean ships too, if ur getting chased by one, throw a nova slowness potion at it. Trust me it works as long as it's nova or higher
@@arceyplayz yeah I was flabbergasted when I tested it out and it actually works as long as the potion was brewed using starfish coral or sunken elements (has to be nova or higher)
little tip if you bring 1 friend with you you'll get 50% of the loot BUT also - 50% chance of dying cuz of the reviving mechanic. also atlantena ships have reinforcements i was attacking an atlantean ship than another spawned and eventually i ended up fighting 6 atlantena brigs and an atlantean ketch with just 1 boat and 2 ppl
Kinda same situation except the island were so damn high it took around 10 seconds to fall from the height, it isn't even the highest. The psrty were not the agility build people so they barely made it. So many chests but we're not able to be taken.
I hopped on AO for the first time in months yesterday and I got a sunken staff with my first pull with a regular bronze rod. I only had fished like 50 times
Honestly one of the biggest factors is your luck because you will never know when a tornado will spawn on your boat or when a lightning strikes you or when you get water poisoning
I don’t know how rare it is, but I found a circular islands littered with piles of gold and pirate flags. I mean the WHOLE ISLAND. There had to have been at least 50 chests alone there, with 3 being in each pile
I'd your not good in like PvP or if your trying to play it safe just get tons of tree sap from Cermuno. With any common reagant, it's pretty good. Helps in finding chests, stuff on islands, and bosses. I just played yesterday and in the dark sea bosses have an orange glow while others have a purply white glow. The glows are visible from a far, way better than its effects in the bronze sea.

its a volcano island and a jungle biome volcano doesnt really have anything jungle in somewhere u will find the pillar that holds treasure chests (not sure if dark chests included)
Ive done about 10 expeditions, AND NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS GIVEN ME TRUE CAPTAIN, no, i dont do timers but i stay to the point its been an hour so i just get so confused
I also got sunken helmet with a slot that I great to help some of my friends xd after fishing 3 or 4 minutes of fishing with the worst fishing rod this was I guess some of my best moment in arcane odyssey!
Ship setup is weird in that vid lol, just get ~85-90 stab, and go max speed, u dont even need cargo just take like 1-2k galleons + u will loot tons of cash so cargo is just waste of time
Cargo is much faster and better than using galleons. 100 stability just makes it super super tanky. This is a well balanced ship, but whatever floats Ur boat I guess 💀
couple days ago i fished up a sunken armour chest piece with a attractive wooden rod sitting on a randomly generated brig in the dark sea, talk about dumb luck
My clan (due to our own lore reasons) are a dark sea exploration guild, and we often jump in with 8 people... An encounter with a insanity 2 (or maybe three, I was not aware since I had no warding gear and was bombarded by VFX) almost wiped out one of our exploration party (yes we went in with 2 brigs I think)... And by almost we mean two full dead one managed to run and drove his ship back to port. That was a while back before I got inactive.
Whenever I go to the dark sea, I get clapped by the annoying altanean ships. One time I literally got sandwiched by 3 altanean ships. When I see one, I try to sink it. While I sink that one, another shows up and while I sink the other one, another 1 showes up and so on. There was also one time when I felt really lucky and got 50 dark sealed chests and I went back happily. But on the way back, lost 50 dark sealed chests to lightning and freaking white eyes. I've literally got only one successful dark sea expedition out of countless attempts. And that one dark sea expedition was not even 10 sealed chests. I don't know what people do about the ships. A couple expeditions, I was with other brigs acompanying me and even with multiple ships those freaking altanean ships are still formidable. What on Earth should I do to not get sandwiched by 3 altanean ships on my next expedition. PS- I tried running, they follow you even if you lose them from your render distance and go around multiple islands. Eventually they'll hunt you down and there is nothing you can do other than sinking them or attacking the crew and getting clapped by m1s.
100%. Atlantean ships were the only reason I died in the Dark Sea, not even white eyes, or poisoning, or lightning, it was always the ships. Sometimes they even just sneak up on ur boat while ur on an island, and thats how I lost like 30 chests on time.
@@arceyplayz So how can I survive from them. I went on another expedition today and lost 15 chests to them right now. So this is how it goes every time, one ship spawns adn while I am almost done with that one, another shows up and so on until I die. I tried to run but the advantage they have is that they can ram from behind so they can catch up to me and eventually get me.
My favorite thing to do in this game as a villain is to steal good guy cargo cause it sells for more, so im really glad they're adding more reason to have cargo!
I wouldn't use more than 2 atlantean armor pieces I currently use 1 atlanten sunken chest piece with a virtuous theurgist hat to cancel out the insanity effect
i have 2 insanity and 3 warding and the effects arent completely gone, i still see the text that comes from having insanity 2 but the effects like colour changes, camera zooming or any other wacky effects seem less common than if i had no warding, so warding doesnt completely remove insanity but only negate it to an extent unless its a bug

For the first time me and my bro tryed to go in another insanity levels my brother got insanity 3 but I didn’t got any, we only saw abandoned ships the hole time, and at the very end while coming back still in the dark see 2 players with op boats appeared and destroyed us 😢. I don't onow what use of atlanteen essence i have like 27 and i just sold it to buy cargo i don't know what is that use for now its so hard to get atlanteen essence 😐
if you're going with friends I highly suggest using bronze hammer instead of cargos because each cargo repairs your ship by 400, each cargo costs 50 galleons and for bronze hammer you repair 50 for 6 galleons which in total you'll be able to repair 400 for 48 galleons which is 2 galleons more efficient. Cargo also eats space to place dark sealed chests either if you're not optimal with the placements Cargos are meant for solo use if you are in an emergency where Atlantean ships are attacking and you can't repair at the same time
for me whenever i'm super low on stamina i just insta cast my magic blast and then immediately start climbing again. if i can time it right i usually don't slip at all, and for some reason ill usually get like 40-50 stamina back from just hovering in the air for that extremely short amount of time. obviously not a lot of stamina recovery, but it lets me climb infinitely so i take it. @@martingarriga928 (but yeah you can also just spam T jump, I just don't like losing heath)
i dont really understand how is that related with the amount of damage u get, does cargo decrease the damage that ship gets from waves? also my ships gets hit by lightning strikes often@@arceyplayz
range 0 can be good bc i found the tallest island i even saw in the dark sea it hada full chest circle with 3 sealed chests there was antoher spir on top but i just did not want to waste all that time
Brew tbh is kinda wasteful? I mean yeah it does have more time overall, but in this one I only had to use luckpot once and I was going to leave after anyways... So that's why I just make normal pots.
I've gotten a decent amount of Dark Sealed chests from the none insanity range? Is it really worth skipping the islands you see to go all the way to insanity 1 or 2 ranges?
@arceyplayz Actually, if you dont mind, I have a question: When you have insanity 4 and warding 5, does it cancel out the insanity or do you still get some effects? I've heard people say that it cancels it out, but the wiki says that you will always see the effects of insanity 4+ regardless of your warding? I don't know which to believe.
I’m struggling to pvp Atlantean bosses at insanity 1 because being a earth mage, my magic is really slow… I’m gonna reset my stats.. do you recommend I go conjurer or warrior?
Some matchups are harder than others. As a sand mage I treat them like I did Calvus/Elius, jump around and keep dodging and use basic blast mid range whenever its safe to do so.
wait is sunken that rare? i got a helmet after fishing for around 15 minutes but i thought it was rare like a vindicator not super rare so i had no reaction
It is only stoppable by going in a building or using the brig, where there is a bath near the bed of the brig where you can wash yourself to remove the water poisoning.
Maybe the true dark sea was the 40 minute sail time we had along the way

Going to the northeastern part of the war seas is completely empty and far from any islands, which is good for avoiding players

I use fire magic but this happened to me as well, I think the volcano island may be a bit buggy so I never go on it.
Applies to lightning magic too, speaking from personal experience. Wild. I just avoid volcanoes now.
Thank god that I didn’t learn the hard way, I did do the dodge reflex into the volcano but I managed to escape it out on time

The strongest ship I've ever seen was a heavily armored which is stronger than armored which is stronger than heavy.
the hardest part is praying to God hoping your internet doesn't die while you make the voyage back home with a hefty loot

you need to make sure every single person in your crew survives, so have a ship with very high HP to get it easily

Ship setup is weird in that vid lol, just get ~85-90 stab, and go max speed, u dont even need cargo just take like 1-2k galleons + u will loot tons of cash so cargo is just waste of time
Cargo is much faster and better than using galleons. 100 stability just makes it super super tanky. This is a well balanced ship, but whatever floats Ur boat I guess 💀

couple days ago i fished up a sunken armour chest piece with a attractive wooden rod sitting on a randomly generated brig in the dark sea, talk about dumb luck

My clan (due to our own lore reasons) are a dark sea exploration guild, and we often jump in with 8 people... An encounter with a insanity 2 (or maybe three, I was not aware since I had no warding gear and was bombarded by VFX) almost wiped out one of our exploration party (yes we went in with 2 brigs I think)... And by almost we mean two full dead one managed to run and drove his ship back to port.
That was a while back before I got inactive.
Whenever I go to the dark sea, I get clapped by the annoying altanean ships. One time I literally got sandwiched by 3 altanean ships. When I see one, I try to sink it. While I sink that one, another shows up and while I sink the other one, another 1 showes up and so on. There was also one time when I felt really lucky and got 50 dark sealed chests and I went back happily. But on the way back, lost 50 dark sealed chests to lightning and freaking white eyes. I've literally got only one successful dark sea expedition out of countless attempts. And that one dark sea expedition was not even 10 sealed chests. I don't know what people do about the ships. A couple expeditions, I was with other brigs acompanying me and even with multiple ships those freaking altanean ships are still formidable. What on Earth should I do to not get sandwiched by 3 altanean ships on my next expedition.
PS- I tried running, they follow you even if you lose them from your render distance and go around multiple islands. Eventually they'll hunt you down and there is nothing you can do other than sinking them or attacking the crew and getting clapped by m1s.
100%. Atlantean ships were the only reason I died in the Dark Sea, not even white eyes, or poisoning, or lightning, it was always the ships. Sometimes they even just sneak up on ur boat while ur on an island, and thats how I lost like 30 chests on time.
@@arceyplayz So how can I survive from them. I went on another expedition today and lost 15 chests to them right now. So this is how it goes every time, one ship spawns adn while I am almost done with that one, another shows up and so on until I die. I tried to run but the advantage they have is that they can ram from behind so they can catch up to me and eventually get me.
My favorite thing to do in this game as a villain is to steal good guy cargo cause it sells for more, so im really glad they're adding more reason to have cargo!

I wouldn't use more than 2 atlantean armor pieces I currently use 1 atlanten sunken chest piece with a virtuous theurgist hat to cancel out the insanity effect
i have 2 insanity and 3 warding and the effects arent completely gone, i still see the text that comes from having insanity 2 but the effects like colour changes, camera zooming or any other wacky effects seem less common than if i had no warding, so warding doesnt completely remove insanity but only negate it to an extent unless its a bug

For the first time me and my bro tryed to go in another insanity levels my brother got insanity 3 but I didn’t got any, we only saw abandoned ships the hole time, and at the very end while coming back still in the dark see 2 players with op boats appeared and destroyed us 😢. I don't onow what use of atlanteen essence i have like 27 and i just sold it to buy cargo i don't know what is that use for now its so hard to get atlanteen essence 😐
if you're going with friends I highly suggest using bronze hammer instead of cargos because each cargo repairs your ship by 400, each cargo costs 50 galleons and for bronze hammer you repair 50 for 6 galleons which in total you'll be able to repair 400 for 48 galleons which is 2 galleons more efficient. Cargo also eats space to place dark sealed chests either if you're not optimal with the placements
Cargos are meant for solo use if you are in an emergency where Atlantean ships are attacking and you can't repair at the same time
Just be a villain so that cargos wont cause galleons its rlly that simple and load about 40 of them

T1 is the normal rare scrolls, tier 2 is the armour only scrolls and tier 3 are the weapon scrolls

for me whenever i'm super low on stamina i just insta cast my magic blast and then immediately start climbing again. if i can time it right i usually don't slip at all, and for some reason ill usually get like 40-50 stamina back from just hovering in the air for that extremely short amount of time. obviously not a lot of stamina recovery, but it lets me climb infinitely so i take it. @@martingarriga928
(but yeah you can also just spam T jump, I just don't like losing heath)

Brew tbh is kinda wasteful? I mean yeah it does have more time overall, but in this one I only had to use luckpot once and I was going to leave after anyways... So that's why I just make normal pots.

yes for the time spent just going there and getting the loot, it is very worth it.
@arceyplayz Alright, I was thinking about it and it makes sense, you want to be going into the further ranges with as much ship health as possible.
@arceyplayz Actually, if you dont mind, I have a question: When you have insanity 4 and warding 5, does it cancel out the insanity or do you still get some effects? I've heard people say that it cancels it out, but the wiki says that you will always see the effects of insanity 4+ regardless of your warding? I don't know which to believe.

I’m struggling to pvp Atlantean bosses at insanity 1 because being a earth mage, my magic is really slow… I’m gonna reset my stats.. do you recommend I go conjurer or warrior?
Stay as earth mage, ur just not doing enough damage. Try to build more power and agility.
Some matchups are harder than others. As a sand mage I treat them like I did Calvus/Elius, jump around and keep dodging and use basic blast mid range whenever its safe to do so.
will magma mage die in volcano if their charging or use a spell to stand on the lava?

Whats the debuff that slowly starts to kill you its like dark sea poisoning? How do I deal with that?
It is only stoppable by going in a building or using the brig, where there is a bath near the bed of the brig where you can wash yourself to remove the water poisoning.
