I saw this video the other week and was impressed. Then today I was up in the GAP for the first time and asked where it was so I could see it myself... I laughed my head off. The video does it no justice - it's absolutely massive! You smashed it! I don't have the skill to do it yet but I've made it my target to do by the end of 2021! Well done and thanks for sharing.
Amazing chaining of jumps!! 💪🏼 You rock! It is always great to have someone to trust when we are going to go out of the comfort zone. We all need that little feather that Dumbo needed to fly first 😊
Going to the the Gap tomorrow for my first time, and my first time bringing my new bike out anywhere,,,hopefully can muster up the courage to take on that! Great video🙌
@@CatMTBPilot you are very welcome,,, I passed you 1 time we were in the uplift! And I passed you another while I was pedalling up hill, thankfully I had my helmet (black and red helmet, with yellow glasses,,on a black Evil Wrecking) on,,,because I'd say I looked like my head was going to explode🤣,,,have a look at some of my vids if u get a chance, will def stop for a chat next time😀🙌
Ah defo say hi the next time! Checked out one of your vids on the red and you had a banger of a fall. Hope you were ok back then and that you had a great day yesterday too!
@@CatMTBPilot Will do😃,,,ah ya I was grand after that fall, have definitely had worse, check out the silvermines videos if u want a laugh, couldn't stay on the bikes😅 ,,,, Had a great day alright between tic noc and the gap, but haven't been out in ages so it was tough going ,will def go again though! Take care and may talk soon!😃🙌
Thanks so much Wesley! It’s been a while since I did it with all this weather and wind we’ve been getting so I’ll be working up the courage again I’m sure the next time!
@@CatMTBPilot you certainly can move on that bike of yours. Either of them! I'm only starting out, got a 2nd hand bike in June and had to rebuild it. it's been nearly 30 years since I last owned an mtb but find it's great. Your job though is what I've always wanted to do. Hopefully you'll be back in the air soon. Fingers crossed
@@CatMTBPilot just found your channel and it's great, skill level is outstanding, I'm similar situation as you, started mountain biking during furlough I'm an engineer for bombardier in Belfast. Been on furlough 5 weeks march/April and now been of the last 7/8 weeks I build the c series or new name A220 everything is slow as I'm sure you know
No way that where it all started for me as I did my Shorts type rating at Bombardier in Belfast nearly 20 years ago. I'm on the Embraer now which is a good competitor for the A220!! Still temporarily laid off but hoping for the best! Thank you so much for the support.
No small feature that, even the table and double beforehand were big! Nicely done, love seeing progression like thos. I do something similar called feature Friday where I attempt a feature which scares me. Nothing like this though, yet anyway 🤣 Keep up the great work and well done for clearing it ⚡
Yes I have, I also did it on Decs Commencal Meta Power SX while I was filming for a vid and cased it! 🙈 In my defence the bike is two sizes too big for me but it was a close one! 🤣
Pilot turns MTB Girl 😂😂😂 brilliant I'm still getting used to the weight of my Haibike but I'm getting there, it's a massive difference in weight that I'm used too. 🤘🏻
Well done! Nice achievement for yourself! One thing I must say it looked very unstable the way you were in the air over the gap, because you pumped you actually for something time had little to none contact with your pedals and were very tall. It's risky from what I know, because if you get in to habit of pumping like that one day u might miss-pump, loose a pedal or smth else and won't clear the gap. That's just my personal opinion! I haven't cleared the gap myself yet, so not teaching, just looking at footage as someone who's learning myself and looked dangerously on the "limit" to me. Landing kinda showed that too as you wobbled to left on both landings. Respect nevertheless! Great riding!
Thanks so much for the feedback, it felt pretty comfortable and is something I’ve been working on to get more height. I was definitely unsteady on the last landing as I wasn’t stable coming into the jump, but thankfully it went ok, I think I was lucky there! I’ll keep working on it thou and I like to go back to smaller safer jumps and practice what I should be doing which hopefully helps. 🤞😀
Thanks so much Lory! I’ve been biking for a while but honestly would never have dreamed this time last year I could have done the river gap, I think the extra time on the bike lately, because of unemployment, has just given me a lot more comfort to try things that scare me! You’ll do it too soon I’m sure! 🤟💪
That gap looks massive. And it looks like your speed threw you way over comfortably. Impressive mountain biking.
Thanks so much West Coast Mountain Biker!
Wow learning to fly in a whole new way super stuff cat
Ah thanks Mark!!
Nerves of steel! That jump was very scary 😱
Ah thanks Kyra, took a while to work myself up to it alright! 🤣
