Plitvice Lakes National Park: Croatia: A mesmerizing day at the stunning park

PlitVice lakes national park is largest national park in Croatia and one of the most visited, most scenic national parks in whole Europe. It has apprx 73000 acre of land area with numerous cascading lakes, several waterfalls of different sizes ( Veliki slap being the largest). This park is located towards north easter part of Croatia , near Bosnia Herjegovena border. It is Unesco World Heritage site.

PlitVice lakes national park can be reached by Bus from Zagreb, Zadar or Split. Guided day trips are available from Zagreb and Split

There are plenty of accomodations near the park if night stay option wanted. This would help to see the park early morning.

Our itinerary :

We started from Split at 8 am by FlixBus operated bus. Reached around 10.30 am. Finished the park via routr C and had enough time to catch 18.35 hr Flix Bus from the park to Zagreb.
Best route:

Bus stop is near Northern entrance. If you start from this entrance, route C is the best optimized option which covers 8 km of total distance including boat tide over Lake Coszak and Panoramic bus ride from the route C finish point till Northern gate. If you start the trail at 11 am, it can be covered by 5 pm considering multiple stopovers, queue for boat at lake Coszak.
Best time to visit :

Summer time - May to September are best months, but check weather forecast before planning. Rainy day or clouds will not reveal the stunning azure blue color of the lakes, vibrant waterfalls.
