    The Habs have a very good relationship with the Jets, so I am doubtfull if an offer shert for Perfetti is likely. A trade maybe.

    There is something funny about that Perfetti to Habs idea: To offer sheet a player you need to still own your own pick. Montreal doesn't have there own 2nd round pick in 2024. Guess who owns it ??? You are right, it's Winnipeg !
    Hey Kevin, it's Kent on the phone, could you trade my 2nd round pick back ? I got some important stuff to do with it ;)
    And when the Habs did trade Monahan, Marc-Antoine Godin was interested to see if the Habs would try and get their own 2nd round draft pick back or not. Not having the 2nd round pick doesn't mean you can't offer sheet tho, you just need to pick an amount where 2nd draft in not involved.

    Mind you, a high offer sheet means higher compensation

    Trade the first round pick from the Monahan deal back to Winnipeg for Cole Perfetti.

    Would rather put the phone call in for Mcgroarty who may be holding out, possibly get a good deal.

      He’s not holding out. He will play with the jets, his dad did and he even said the jets were his favourite team growing up

    @emmvee2932 24 дня назад

    An offer sheet is just a terrible idea because even if the Habs have numerous 1st round picks the compensation given is always the teams own pick and not another teams. The Habs might have another top 10 or top 15 pick so it isn't a good idea for them to offer sheet anybody.

    Have we not learn our lesson with offer sheets …. What goes around comes around

    Jets fan. I think it is a possibility Cole Perfetti gets offer sheeted. By whom, your guess would be better than mine probably. I can tell you with absolute certainty that Winnipeg will not be offer sheeting anyone this summer. Cole has upside and will be on that trajectory for the next 6 seasons. He is a bit of a Swiss army knife in that he can play all 3 forward positions, all 4 lines and the power play. His defensive game was better this season than last. There are far worse players to offer sheet.

    Why would we offer sheet someone so short. We can offer sheet Marty Necas in a healthy way

    We have good trade relations with Winnipeg why jeopardize that? We have enough young prospects to make a trade if they really are ready to part with him.

    Montreal fans are the worst. They would build a team of mi dgets and think it’s great. Having said that, Perfetti does have a crappy agent who’s the one Trouba used to wedge him out of Winnipeg.. Perfetti is unlikely to go anywhere this year with a new Coach and some roster shuffling happening. He hasn’t worked as a Centre, is too slow to be a bottom 6 guy and can’t perform when the physicality ramps up. So we’ll see.

    Cole Perfetti is awful so far, needs heavy offensive zone starts to produce like a 3rd liner.
