- There are cameras hidden in plain sight that the viewers even miss! The whole premise of the movie is that Truman, played by Jim Carrey, is being filmed and is the star of a reality TV show he’s not been aware of his entire life. What most viewers also weren't aware of was that cameras were in shots early on in the film that would have given away most of the plot, but were just missed. At first viewings, people complained about the odd angles of some scenes or overly static shots without realising this was done to capture the hidden cameras.

This movie has so much detail out into it
All of the vehicles in the movie came from Enterprise Rent a Car, & most came through the one I worked at in Panama City Fl. There was also an indoor set used when it would be raining in Destin where the main set was located, in a Sears warehouse close to my store. I got to meet Carrey there one day because his masseuse’s car from us had a flat tire & we just switched out cars because the movie company paid for it. They also paid for any damages to the vehicles. The cool part was they would leave scripts in cars & when we would switch them out we got to keep them.
Ironically I’ve never watched the movie, I saw it behind the scenes so just never did.
Do you ever think about watching it now just for curiosity sake?

I just watched it for the first time. It’s weird how through each scene, the viewer is lead in more and more to what’s going on. It’s so well done!

this is a main point of the movie. it only started showing the weird angles after the audience is told there are hidden cameras in everyday objects. if its a particularly weird angle the movie makes a point of showing that object close up just before cutting to its camera.

when it was gonna be first showed it was planned that mid way to the film, everything will go off then briefly show a live camera footage of the audience then everything goes back to normal, unfortunately it was cancelled

man looks at her like that bc there's no one in

It was pretty obvious that anything with a dome shape was a camera, like the ones even found on each railing post of each house, but the best one had to have been the compass, as he would have had to have been the one who placed it there and yet they found a way to make it a camera. Also the pencil sharpener was a weird placed one.

Truman caught on that his life was being broadcast. If he was smart he should have simply stopped working due to depression, gone on disability and lived the rest of his life surrounded by 'friends and family' in the lap of luxury.

*_So his name is Truman and he was born in an huge half bowl like place (he couldn't see that) so he lived his life, but when he was 5 his dad "drowned". When he was around 30, he had a wife and he noticed that everytime he goes to work he sees the same people over and over gain, everyday the same so he began getting suspicious about everything. We knew the same as him so we were confused to. But in the middle of the movie he didn't knew but we did, that it were all actors and that it was an half bow like and it wasn't even his wife, but an actor. I don't rly remember this, but I think his parents weren't his real parents. And when he was 5, his dad didn't drown, they did an act with him on an boat and they did that so he was afraid of water. (And of course he was getting even more suspicious bc the boat drove itself back to land). They did this half bowl thing for an TV show and you couldn't see the show in the half bowl, only outside. So everyone was looking everything in his life, even showing, sleeping etc. At the age of 30, he wanted to go to an specific land (I don't remember where). And when we didn't knew all of this, there was this woman who couldn't, but was in the half bowl. She tried to tell him nothing was real and all for him, and she wanted to tell more, but then she was caught by security. So everytime he tried to escape to go to the specific land, he couldn't bc always he tries to go, they said they couldn't for an specific reason. And when he hid an doll under his sheet, (he did that when he knew no one could see him) When his "friend" came over to check if he was still there and he didn't saw him, so he told the camera he isn't there. So EVERYONE was looking for him. It was 2am but they didn't had an choice but turn their sun on. (They didn't find him) He got away with his car, and then he was at the lake on an boat. But of course he can't just leave, (and he still wasn't sure what was going on) so they found him and put on storm and almost killed him, the people who were controlling everything were in the fake moon. At that moment they didn't care if they killed him. And with all the fighting he reached the end of the half bowl and the end of his boat poke an hole in the half bowl. Then the people in the fake moon started talking, he knew everything. The man in the fake moon said that he could leave, but he had no surviving chance bc he never had been in the outside world. But he wanted to leave. And then the person in the fake moon said: "Say something God damn-it, you're live to the whole world!". And Truman said: "In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night." (That's what he said every morning)._*
