    You are an amazing mechanic sir all those shops couldn’t figure it out bcuz they weren’t thinking like u as far as doing the most for the customer that u can without charging an arm and a leg shows u have integrity and care about your customers not a lot of ppl out here like u I have the same problem but the v8 model I’m going to put into the shop to figure out what’s wrong but not before I check myself after watching this

    Foot on brake, hazards on, headlights on and the headlight stalk pulled to the flash position. Hold that through out the whole scan procedure and that will allow you to keep the gateway on and scan the kessy module

      I tried all that and it still didn't work. Only cycling the key kept the kessy talking

    Great case study! 👍 Those cars had a problem with the drains clogging up underneath the cowl area. You can even see in your video they are full of debris. They better approve a cleanup as well and unclogging the drains,otherwise more problems will be coming along shortly.
    Thanks for the video!

    I loved being the go-to guy back 30 years ago. I moved to NC 1996 where it's all about car count. Admit that NC pays at least double what i made back home but miss doing this type of stuff. It's much like knowing other languages though. If you don't use it you lose it. Plus shops can't be convinced it's ethical to CHARGE for diag. If the guy on the front counter doesn't believe it you going broke.

    A++. EEPROM stuff in interesting and good use of your resources. Those chip adapters can be hit or miss with making good contact with the EEPROM chip not letting you get a good dump. Not a bad idea to get an other chip adapter for a "just in a case" if you start doing more EEPROM dumps. I for sure have lost some time in my life wondering why I couldn't get a successful dump even though it recognized the chip.

    I had the same thing happen to my 2004 Cayenne Turbo 955. I took that thing to 3 shops. The last one was Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta GA. After a month of messing around with it and trying new keys etc. They told me the only way to fix it was 3 new Modules plus yet another key to the cost of around 12k-14K . I sold the car as is and the guy that bought it from me claimed he fixed it but I cannot verify that claim. SMH sucked because I lost a lot of money and I really liked the vehicle for the most part. I even wrote a long and very detailed email to PUSA and got no reconciliation for such a massive and obvious design flaw.

    Incredible video! As a constant tinkerer/project car builder, and the owner of a 2006 Cayenne S and 1999 LS 996, Porsche keys are a giant pain for me. Is the IM508 adequate for making keys and programming Kessy modules (and maybe other modules) on these cars? I'd love to be in control of this stuff on my cars...

    I had a similar start then stall issue and it turned out to be a broken fuse terminal on the ecu fuse. That was in a rx300. Stale fuel usually either doesn't run well but shouldn't stall so I'm thinking fuel control relay or something on the cold start circuit. Did you try the MAF and TPS?

    Assuming that the black dotted lines on the wiring diagram means they are splices, and not "optional connections". Then based on your description of the two relays and the wiring diagram, it looks to me like, in addition to the grey and black wire issue, there is also a problem with pin 86 of the relay 2 being open circuited. Otherwise when you unplugged relay 1, you should still see B+ at pin 85 because relay 2 should be back feeding the grey and black wire just like relay 1 did. So I think it's possible that the car is still running on relay 1 only right now.

    • @SuperMarioDiagnostics
      @SuperMarioDiagnostics  4 года назад +1

      Sorry i must have worded it wrong. Relay 2 was removed when i checked its pin 85, removing relay 1 took away the power from pin 85relay 2, proving continuity

    Funny enough, I got a $2k V6 cayenne and I suspect it might have exactly the same problem with the control wire for the two main relays. I have +12V to the relay coils with Term15 on, but +2V at the control pins for the two relays.
    If I reach in there and find a corroded wire I'll Venmo you $25 because it would have taken me much longer to think of that and find it

    Good work man. I am the diagnostic tech at a Porsche independent repair shop and I can say that you really know your shit. I think your fuel pump issue was a bad primary pump. Theres 2 pumps, primary and secondary...and when you start the car both run for 10 seconds or so and then the secondary shuts off. Its only used at WOT or if fuel level gets low after that. So if your primary is dead, the vehicle will run for 10 seconds and then die when then secondary pump shuts off. Seems like that is whats happening in this scenario. Anyway, nice work. Cayenne wiring is TERRIBLE with the way they crimp connections together and the tendency of the vehicle to flood due to clogged A/C drains or clogged body drains. Plus the e box is in the cowl! Who the fuck does that? Bad placement. All that shit teamed with the 3 inches of sound deadening material under the carpet makes a perfect habitat for corrosion and green crusty copper oxidation. Anyways, hats off to you for a job well done. Cayennes are not easy to figure out. Youre a smart dude.

    • @SuperMarioDiagnostics
      @SuperMarioDiagnostics  3 года назад

      Thanks, i put up a second video addressing the fueling issue. Of course looking back now, there's a much easier way to diagnose, but as it was my first time seeing this, i went about it the long way LOL thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

    I'm sorry but some of your terminology has me confused. "Dealer key" you clearly stated that the new key was an OEM key purchased from the dealer but at the same time you said it was not a dealer key and that vehicle requires at least one dealer key to reactivate KL-15 and you used this IM608 tool to make it a dealer key. What you did it's usually never performed by US german marquee dealer techs. As a BMW dealer tech I have encountered older BMWs with new keys do the same thing as you, after getting BMW NA involved we usually replaced various EWS modules with different part# s, sometimes completely new EWS modules with new keys and lock cylinders to get them to work. I been told BMW AG keeps 4 EWS modules and 8 keys for each vehicle in stock when the vehicle was made. These keys and EWS modules can go bad if they sit in the shell for 10+ years. Buying a new key from BMW for pre 2000 MY BMWS' sometimes can be headaches. These older german vehicles definitely buying a clone key the best option using your tool to dump the information from the original EWS EPROM into the clone " virgin" key instead of a over price dealer key that probably won't work in a 20+ year old car.

    • @SuperMarioDiagnostics
      @SuperMarioDiagnostics  4 года назад

      Dealer key has nothing to do with where one acquires the key. It's same as making a "master" key. Toyota has the same thing. Each Toyota has to have at least one "master" key programmed into the vehicle, regardless of whether it's an oe key or a cheap eBay clone

    • @elora2525
      @elora2525 4 года назад +1

      @@SuperMarioDiagnostics thank you, I'm used to BMW jargon. I'm familiar with the term "master" key. I never heard a master key as " dealer" key.

    Got a 2004 cayenne s says move steering wheel and put in park , car is manually in park via cable depess by shift lever, (shift level removed) hazards on security light on driver door doesn’t stop blinking apparently the corrosion on the left side hasn’t happened and the wires are intact I do need to check fuses the brown and red wire has been modified I do have to check the fuse under the seat and the fuses in the side compartments on the left and right I am willing to pay $1000 if you can walk me through this verbally I am a mechanic myself I’m inclined to do some things I for the most part have the dash ripped apart so I’m ready to tackle any computers any steering column lock or Kessy module

  • @mastacut6212
    @mastacut6212 2 года назад

    Hey guy, why after dumping the Kessy 93C86 EEPROM, you didn't do to the Autel Write Key Via Dump and after create your key on a free Slot, then Save the new Bin file, Go to Programmer > EEPROM > ST > M93XXX > EEPROM > Write ... On EEPROM ... Put back EEPROM on Kessy module ... And that's it.
