@8:50 There is no evidence that Massasoit spoke any english. It was in fact Samoset, an Abenaki sagamore, and not Massasoit, who made first contact with the English settlers. Samoset had learned some english from fishermen who were fishing the abounding waters along North America's east coast. Samoset then introduced the settlers to Squanto, (Tesquantem) who spoke much better english than Samoset, but it would be several months later that Massasoit would first visit Plymouth village.
This is the most informative and complete documentary of Squanto that i have found on RUclips! Thank You for this, i now have what i need to share with Friends on Facebook! My profile contains various video documentaries showing the history of how we got to where we are now; something that school should be teaching, but has, as it is, forsaken.
@@HistoryJunkie oh wow, you actually made the video? Very professional, and it’s a super important and interesting topic. It might just be an individual preference thing, distracting music occurs in a lot of videos. And I like music, it was cool and all, just it was distracting.
SQUANTOOOOO!!!! Lets gooooooo!!!

Great script. I think if you made a more specific slide show with images that matched the story, it would be a more useful educational tool.

Thank you for taking the time to watch! As a newer channel I really appreciate it so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@@HistoryJunkie Thank You; for the time, effort, and quality that you put into it. : - )
Indeed it is, you should repost it now around Thanksgiving
Interesting how Squanto was able to negotiate his way into the European groups.
The music is too loud, hard to concentrate.
Thanks for the feedback, will take this into consideration when making future videos!
