Dave, you absolutely are worthy of the title of “legend” because you did make peoples childhoods. My own included. Absolutely beautiful soul of a human being.
Dave is a nice bloke he came to my school twice. He was quite entertaining during assembly . I remember Dave presented a short lived program on children's BBC (BBC 1) called is that a fact.
15 British Children's Shows That Will Make You Nostalgic We love to recall the children’s shows that informed our younger years because they bring back such a flood of nostalgia. British viewers of different ages will be surprised how much they remember of these favorites.
27:27 I remember when Dave did the TV adaption of the Fun Song Factory in 1998, he's been in the Children's TV industry for 10 years by that point, and this was the very show where Justin Fletcher's Children's TV career first began. In the episode "Please and Thank You" is only episode in the series where we only see both the legend and the new kid on the block together. Fun Fact: Did you know that Dave was also the very first Children's TV presenter to use Makaton (mainly on Playdays) before Justin capitalised it from 2003 onwards with Something Special?
@@marcusblackwell2372 Makaton is a form of sign language specifically designed for not just children with hearing impairment but also with learning disabilities including autism (like myself).
As much as I liked GYOB, the God Father of gunge to me was Peter Simon with Run The Risk. Health & Safety would have a field day today but would love to hear more from Peter about his time at RTR. There are not enough episodes of RTR floating about on the net for my liking.
Thanks I was wondering whether it would be possible to do an interview with Will Brenton and Iain Lauchlan who worked on Fun Song Factory and other pre-school programmes that would be really interesting as I love the shows they did.
Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton are absolutely brilliant I was wondering have you got any interviews planned with those two that would be really interesting.
Dave came to a Freshers event at my Uni, he turned an audience of quite cynical students into a gang of rabid kids all eager to get covered in gunge, it was lovely to see, and he was so kind, chatted with everybody.
"Our eyes locked together, over a vat of gunge." *Sniff* That's so beautiful... Tremendous interview mate. Thanks. Just subscribed, both to the channel and the podcast.
Future guest suggestion Jack, Danielle Nicholls, singer from Pure Gossip and presenter of Children’s ITV from 1998-2001 and children’s entertainment show Mad For It! I know her personally from her younger brother Dean’s Twitch streams under the name ‘BiigNoobs’!
Sesame Street has not reached its 5000th eoisode yet, we still have like 400 episodes to go it’s probably not gonna reach that milestone until another ten years
