Hi, I just wanted to give my input regarding your content as a fan. I’ve watched most of your videos available on the internet whether they be RUclips, Tiktok, IG, or even the interviews and podcasts you guys have done over the years (w/ Broadwaycom, The Buzz, CelebrityHauteSpot, The Musty Creative, Popternative, WGN News, Wakeup with Marci, The Suki and Scott Show, etc…) and your live streams. The following are some of my honest thoughts as someone who likes your content to a relatively high degree. ▪️I think more casual videos should be done more often as compared to full cosplay ones. Videos like Easy on Me, Arcade, The Greatest Show, You Will be Found, Count on Me, True Colors, I Dreamed a Dream, Into the Unknown, and How Far I’ll Go (AGT version)… are some of your best videos yet. They have this more laid-back and family tone to them that some of your fully produced videos sometimes lack. ▪️Videos like the Little Mermaid Medley, the Moana Medley, the Zombies Medley, and Nobody Like You, seem a bit off as they are not edited or videographed in a relatively high quality nor are the costumes that high caliber. This is by no means saying those videos are by any means bad, as I appreciate the immense effort and passion put into those both by you and your film/editing crew. However, I can’t help but acknowledge that the visuals in those are akin to the ones you find in some of those kiddie RUclips channels. I consider you guys to be immensely talented and actual artists and vocalists who put content that is up to a professional level. So maybe those cosplays could be a bit toned down to a more professional setting. ▪️Don’t misunderstand my points, I’m not saying the medley videos are bad, just that they could be translated to video format in a better way. For example, the Hocus Pocus one works perfectly as you incorporated the cosplaying element of Halloween into your video. The Encanto videos also work as the costumes are relatively toned down. For example, the Twins didn’t wear female wigs nor did Logan wear a wig to imitate Bruno. It just looked like your version of Encanto rather than a perfect copy of the movie characters. That’s what I mean. ▪️Something I’ve noticed is that despite having 1.76 million subscribers on RUclips, most of your videos struggle to push past 100k views (especially this year). Videos like ‘Phantom of the Opera, My Way, I Dreamed a Dream, Golden Hour, Life is a Highway/Dynamite’ are all capped below 100k as of right now despite them being some of your best work in my opinion. I guess people do really prefer the over-the-top costume-oriented type of content. This is kind of sad to see as your vocals alone are enough to push through it without the need for those. ▪️Doing more one-take songs like Into the Unknown could be great as it has the authentic feeling of singing as opposed to videos you do multiple takes and pick and choose the preferred scenes. ▪️Also, more ‘studio version’ of you guys singing into mics would work wonders. Songs like ‘Christmas Time is Here, Awaken the Spirit of Christmas and I Dreamed a Dream’ offer much-needed versatility to your content because of the setting. ▪️Uploading more BTS/Vlogs content would give you more time to create your music videos as they can act like stop gaps. Though I do get that editing full-on footage and putting it into video format can be quite time-consuming, so I get why those aren’t uploaded as frequently. ▪️Doing more singing challenges would also be great as a singing family is an extremely rare occurrence. So you could do part 2s of the Singing Olympics, Sing a song with the word, Finish the lyrics, Whisper challenge… I take it that they are far easier to film compared to music videos, so they can also act as stop gaps. ▪️Also, try doing some vocally challenging songs as I’m confident you guys can pull it out. Would love to hear you guys do some rock and roll music. Loved your spin on ‘Carry on Wayward Son’. Some of my personal song suggestions 🔸A Million Dreams (a remake after 3 years would be great to see especially after how the kids’ voices have evolved. It sure would be nostalgic.) 🔸From Now On, Never Enough - you can compose these 2 to a single video. I vastly prefer this version compared to the original song. The harmonies were on point and the vocals while not perfect were close to it. There were minute flaws in my opinion, but they are expected in live singing anyway. Could definitely see how hard you worked on it considering the whole song looks reworked and modernized. Definitely top 2 acts of the night and deserved to go to the finale, which would’ve likely happened if not for the distasteful comments from a certain group of people. 🔹Now going onto the judge’s reactions, first of all, Howie’s one was just a pure rant. Can’t be even considered constructive criticism, going through his tone in which he spoke to you, looked like it was filled with malice. The buzz in the middle of the song was uncalled for and definitely negatively affected the outlook on your performance by at least some of the audience. Music’s subjective, so even if he hated it, he should’ve kept his opinion until it was over. That move likely swayed a lot of people’s outlooks since they tend to follow these ‘experts’ judgments. I didn’t get any of the criticism towards the song choice either. I doubt you were given much freedom to choose a song of your choice anyways, so the ‘stay in your lane’ comment seems rather childish and hypocritical. It really shouldn’t matter as the song was great either way, as seen by how much the audience in the hall seemed to have enjoyed it. 🔹In spite of the rather negative comments, I really thought you would’ve moved on to the finals. Considering your act was comfortably the 2nd best act in terms of views and likes on RUclips and Instagram. The acts that ranked higher than you( except one ) were far below you in terms of media traction. I don’t really want to speculate or create conspiracies, but can’t help but wonder if the voting was rigged or scripted in a way. Guess we’ll never know. 🔹Putting all of that to the side, it looked like you all really enjoyed this, which is what really matters at the end of the day. Though there are a number of toxic comments/criticisms on RUclips, Instagram, and TikTok, know that they are just the vocal minority. They are vastly outnumbered by the number of likes/praises. So don’t ever let them bother you, which seems to be the case as you all seem pretty chill about this whole thing. There isn’t anything better than doing what you love with the people who you love the most, so yeah just keep doing what you do, for those memories will last for an eternity.
