  • Amtrak and Septa ACS-64 takeover
June 24th, 2024, I booked an Amtrak trip to William H. Gray III 30th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to railfan the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (better known as SEPTA) and the Amtrak 30th Street Rail Yard.
Recently, Septa's Silverliner IVs turned 50 this year and to celebrate their long runs, Silverliner IV number #280, #401, #304 and #276 were given heritage decals including Reading Lines, Penn Central, Conrail and the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). In this video, you will see all four of them caught on the same day, including Septa ACS-64 number #901 named Pasquale T. Deon Sr. After Septa's Chairman served the railroad since 1999. 280's Reading Lines heritage unit will also make a second appearance throughout the video later on.
However Septa isn't the only one with their fleet all appearing in one day, Amtrak on the other hand had a few movements as ACS-64 #642 Veterans is seen parked in the rail yard at 30th Street next to ALC-42 #356. Amtrak GP15 #578 was also pulling an Avelia Liberty trainset back and fourth into the yard while Amtrak GE P42DC #130 was assigned for Amtrak #43 Pennsylvanian to Pittsburgh, PA.
Before leaving Philadelphia, I received a heads up from a friend that Amtrak Silver Meteor #97 would be pulling two inspection cars number #10005 Catenary Maintenance and #10004 American View.
Lastly, at Trenton Transit Center, Septa ACS-64 #904 was parked onto the siding across track 5 after running a push-pull service in the afternoon during rush hour.
I hope you all enjoy this video and found it interesting!
All clips were shot at the following locations:
Philadelphia 30th Street, Overbrook, Temple University and Trenton Transit Center.

What CSX train symbol was that at the beginning?

At 20:37 , right when I pan to the left to show the consist of the Septa ACS-64. If you look all the to left there's a Silverliner IV that I rode from Philadelphia 30th Street to Trenton

Unless if you're talking about the humming noise that sounded like an Amtrak train was accelerating, that came from 904 itself since its HEP is on to power the coaches.
