  • You can of course use Snapshots to more finely control your amp drive for each part so you don’t have to use your guitar’s volume knob like I do in this video.
    Starting on snapshot 1 and copying that over the rest of the snapshots is also important so that the single coil / humbucker setting stays consistent throughout the song.

    I totally agree with you that it is easy to make song presets once you have a solid base patch, but you should sell the ones that you have made anyway, man. There are plenty of people out there who don't seem to be motivated enough to do it themselves, and you could make a mint on them. 🙂

      Robert Simpson thank you, I think I am going to add a “song presets” page on my website.

    I can tell a "worship tone" in an instant., because they all sound the same. Praise!!

    That was really helpful but the only i did not understand was the “set single could/humbucker switch”, where is that?

    • @AlexStrabala
      @AlexStrabala  3 года назад

      Most of my presets come with a switch in stomp mode that toggles some settings for single coils and humbuckers. Alexstrabala.com

    Alex, I’ve got to commend you again for your brilliant videos, the patches you create for the tone of your guitar are are always amazing.
    I bought the HX Stomp, after being inspired by watching one of your other videos & have spent hours trying to create tones like yours, but still fall miserably, way short of the sounds you achieve.
    I wish I could send my stomp to you to sort it?

      Steph your hands, the guitar, and your monitoring setup all play important roles in addition to your amp/pedals setup (i.e. HX Stomp). The tele I’m playing in this video is very nice, and I’m using lollar special t pickups.

    • @Steph-wq9it
      @Steph-wq9it 4 года назад

      Alex S Thanks Alex, I did wonder about that.
      The pickups on my guitar are active EMG’s, so probably not ideal to find the right sound I want for Worship music?
      Do you think that could be the case? Would you advise different pickups?
      It’s a minefield out there, with the vast choices of pickups & I haven’t any knowledge in that area.
      The lollar specials do seem to be really nice, Yes! Many thanks.

      Steph yes absolutely EMGs will be dramatically different from telecaster pickups. You can certainly use whatever you want in P&W though, there’s no rules. Definitely make sure you have the input pad enabled in global settings, and try bringing the compressor level down.

      @@Steph-wq9it He is playing a very nice Vertias, $2,000 plus guitar, which are all custom built. This goes a long way into mimicking his tone. I am not downplaying his skill with the Helix, but the guitar and pick-ups change the tonality greatly. Those EMG's are probably a little too hot for worship style, not to say you can't do it just may need some more tweaking.

    New to the helix game. I’ve been playing acoustic at church for awhile now and just now getting into electric. I preordered the pod go and wanted your input on studio monitors. What set would you recommend? Budget maxed out at 400 bucks but don’t mind buying used. Thanks.

    How is that you can assign different parameters on the same effect according to each snapshot???

    • @AlexStrabala
      @AlexStrabala  4 года назад

      Josue Chavarria you can assign as many parameters as you want to snapshots. Sorry I’m not sure I understand your question.

      @@AlexStrabala Sorry, what i meant is, for example, if i have an specific Delay assign to a snapshot 1 with 35% mix, how do i use the same Delay in snapshot 2 with a different mix level without changing de first one?

    • @AlexStrabala
      @AlexStrabala  4 года назад

      @@JosueChavgart I show how to do that at 4:25 in this video. You can have any parameter change with snapshots.

    • @JosueChavgart
      @JosueChavgart 4 года назад

      @@AlexStrabala I must be doing something wrong because when i change a parameter on a snapshot it changes the other one, thank you any way, i love your presets

    • @AlexStrabala
      @AlexStrabala  4 года назад +1

      Josue Chavarria you can’t just change the parameter, that will change it for all snapshots because you haven’t assigned a controller to it. you have to tell Helix that you want that parameter to be controlled by snapshots. At the time stamp I linked above I show two ways to do this. You can also do it on the unit itself by pushing and turning the encoder knob for the parameter you want to be controlled by snapshots.
