    I can't thank you enough. Recently became aware of my hypermobility after being shown a party trick (walking on toes knuckles), and realising "Wait that's not normal?"
    Suddenly my untrained flexiblility, joint pains, weak upper body and jaw clicking made sense. I had no idea I've been in chronic pain for my entire life (since I thought it was normal). You've saved me from a life of pain.

    Crying cuz I took a break from dancing (or trying to, during pandemic) because I knew I was just in graining poor movement habits. First Pilates class ever where I didn’t feel I was making my habits worse. Thank you so much. Way down the line it would be really cool to have a dance specific Pilates zebra class.

    I am a fairly active person so I wasn’t expecting this to be so… difficult? But like in a good way! My body was shaking and trembling with the new awareness… thank you so much for this!!! I will have to practice more often!

    This is great for overall body awareness. Straight after session I went into knee lock and hips forward but i had the awareness to realise this and pull my feet into the ground and correct posture. I never knew my body was getting into this position till i followed this video 🙏🏼

    Thank you so much for this! This is the first exercise routine I've followed in a LONG time that actually made me feel better after I did it instead of exhausted or in pain. So thank you for that!

    My EDS was diagnosed late in life and I have spent a fortune trying to understand what was wrong with me, why my body was ”breaking” up… my feet are destroyed/deformed, suffer from Raynauds/erytromelalgia/neuropathy… and have in spite of that a daily exercise routine that i try to adjust to what’s going on… scared to death of reconstructive surgery with a waver! and other things that have been ”offered”… feel like there is NO knowledge in Sweden where I live and I so wish there were physicians/physical therapists of this calibre! They THINK they know but if they had listened to every syllable in the explanations surrounding these exercises they would/if even able to detect what’s important have to shy away!! The few I have met of any dignity are often former dancers/yoga instructors.
    This is IMPORTANT!

    Jeannie, you're a genius. It feels like a private lesson, everything is applicable to me. One question concerning the last part, the feet. I guess a lot of us have hypermobile feet as well and when we "root our feet" we make them flat. As we hang on them. How do you feel about arching your feet while exercising?

    Thanks for these videos. I have hypermobile EDS and have had chronic back pain (including 5 herniated discs, one degenerated disc, for which I've had multiple steroid injections. ). I have a question though: when you had us lay on our backs, with our knees pointing up, and said that this was a relaxing position, with no pressure on any joints, I was surprised because I felt like it was difficult to keep my knees pointing upwards (they really wanted to roll in and rest on each other or splay outwards in a butterfly position), and I also felt like I had pressure on my tailbone (not sure if this is a joint!). Is this still a good position for me?

      Hope the videos help. I cannot give personal advice here as I don’t know your history. But in general always adjust any position that doesn’t feel comfortable for you right now. Legs tend to want to roll as muscles and joints struggling to stabilise hip. Take it slow.

      Hi Rebecca. I experience the same and have herniated discs as well, which is very contradicting and conflicting with the hEDS/HSD. Maybe we can get in touch as we are peers. You're the first one I come across with hEDS and herniated discs. In a decade! Perhaps we can help each other in some way. I'm not that into RUclips (I only watch Jeannie her videos and drawing videos). You can find me on Instagram inevitable_quiel. Maybe we can get in touch.

    Hi Jeanne, have you every try the
    (eight brocade) a Chinese Taoist practiset
    What is the purpose of the 8 Brocades?
    Each of the Eight Brocade movements places an emphasis on healing certain areas related to the physical and energetic body. TCM emphasizes the healing of specific Zang/Fu organs and their related Acupuncture Meridians. Ancient texts reveal that the Eight Brocades was also a form of Qigong designed to eliminate fatigue.
    Hope found this interesting 🙏amituofu

    I have hypermobility and chronic muscle tensions and pains, but have really high body/movement awareness. This class was not at all challenging for me so I'm wondering if on the zebra club you have classes for people like me who despite having trained their balance, movement control and proprioception etc for quite some years still have pain and tension from being hypermobile? also building all the qualities like control and proprioception for big ranges of motion like is performed in gymnastics, dance etc. as I train similar things?

    • @JeannieDiBonHypermobility
      @JeannieDiBonHypermobility  Год назад +1

      Yes this is deliberately so to introduce people who have not moved before to my method. Within The Zebra Classes we have a wide range of classes for all abilities - going up to Challenge and Cardio.

    Thank you so much for this!!!! I have a question, when I am I supposed to breathe in and out with movement? Do I breathe out when I move?

    • @JeannieDiBonHypermobility
      @JeannieDiBonHypermobility  2 года назад +1

      Thank you - glad you liked it. I don’t focus on curing breath too much - but if it helps guide you, use the exhale when you move. Exhale on the effort.

  • @allyson.vm22
    @allyson.vm22 Год назад +1

    I enjoy all the cues and encouragement throughout! Question, however. When in the laying position, should the core be engaged so that the back is flat on the floor? How am i meant to relax when breathing if i have to engage my core? I find myself using my feet or engaging the psoas to press my lower back flat against the floor instead of the proper core muscles. If i completely relax, my back hyperextends and puts pressure on the si joint.

      Sometimes we can recruit too much even when doing breathwork. The breath should be effortless - make sure you’re not trying too hard.

    Is it normal to feel the joints in the spine, hips & shoulders clunk out of place with joint pain when doing this? I'm only a third way through & my joints are crying in pain. Trying to use wrists hurts the piezogenic papules on my wrists.

    • @JeannieDiBonHypermobility
      @JeannieDiBonHypermobility  2 года назад +1

      I can’t give personal advice as to why that may be happening as I don’t know your history. Could be many reasons. But please avoid any movements or exercises that cause pain or increase pain and check with a exercise professional or medical professional.
