- Shailendra Singh, a former Uttar Pradesh DSP, spoke to ANI following the death of Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari on March 29 due to a cardiac arrest. Shailendra Singh refuted all allegations made by the deceased's family that Ansari was poisoned. Additionally, he claimed that Mukhtar Ansari had a positive experience during his service in a prison in Punjab and asserted that he enjoyed the support of the Congress party. Shailendra Singh also addressed the opposition's comments on Ansari's death, suggesting that they will inevitably question the circumstances, particularly given the timing amidst elections. He stated that opposition parties would seize any opportunity to create a favourable environment for themselves.
