If it’s prime shigaraki vs prime mahito, I don’t see how this is even fair. Shigaraki can perceive souls, (he is able to literally see and talk to the souls within one for all, WITHOUT actually being in the vestige world) and can kill him in one hit. And is faster / as fast as the top tiers in the JJK verse, so I don’t prime shigaraki is even a fair matchup, lol.
WITHOUT gear shift, he was relative to Deku using it, who out speeds the verse.
Shigaraki can't perceive souls the same way Mahito can. Shigaraki can percieve the remnants of souls in the quirks he steals because of All for One, that's it.

yes, perceiving a soul in any form is still perceiving a soul.
And even if we take that away from shigaraki, mahito isn’t IMMUNE to damage from people who can’t perceive souls. Decay would still affect him, he would just be able to negate it if he acts quick enough. Shigaraki could also just.. use all for one to take mahito’s power, if we consider CTs and Quirks to be an equivalent power for the discussion.
It’s like putting mahito against Gojo. He so massively outclasses him in literally every way that it just does not matter what mahito does here
@@HabitualThinker Mahito doesn't have a quirk, so he cannot take his abilities. CT and quirks are not the same thing. And the soul perception Shigaraki has is tied to quirks, he cannot do it the same way Mahito can, Shigaraki can't manipulate the soul or anything. Shigaraki also has no cursed energy so even then, he literally cannot perceive Mahito or his attacks

Also people always treat idol transfiguration as if it's automatic. If you blitzed Mahito or killed him all at once not even destroying everything of his body he wouldn't be able to come back since he has to be alive to activate this cursed technique.
You know what i just realized. there is actually a mha version of that is similar mahito and his name is overhaul. overhaul has the ability to break down and repair the moleculer structure of anything, organic and non-organic but only if he is touching it. so overhaul can simple touch, destroy your entire body till your just a mist of blood then reshape you to your original shape or a different one. not only that he can also use his ability to repair any damage his body has taken and fuse himself with other people giving him access to their abilities and making him much stronger. I would actually wanna see a fight between overhaul and mahito because things might get interesting.
And now its the exact opposite of this matchup and mahito destroys overhaul because he just blatantly out speeds him.

@@BiggestYutaGlazerInHistory there's a difference between traction time and actual speed, a hypersonic deku at 40% with no gearshift and fa Jin is still slower than a weakened mahito, it's also a terrible matchup for overhaul because he can't actually damage mahitos soul, meaning he can regenerate anything overhaul does to him, but overhaul can't perceive the soul so he gets one tapped, and if you remember he didnt exactly get away from deku unscsthed so mahitos definitely landing a hit, not to mention the absurd pressure he can apply with his transfigured humans and soul multiplicity technique. Overhaul gets slammed.
My personal head cannon is that when Mahito is stretched out frame by frame in the anime (usually to show speed), its actually just mahito using his technique in goofy looking ways

By verse equalization:
1) either vestige world can be seen as soul world and shigaraki can just punch him like yuji
2) can outlast mahito's cursed energy due to danger sense, superior speed due to gear shift,and stamina until Mahato's out of cursed energy.
3) maybe search quirk can help shigaraki find a weakness for mahito and kill him that way.
Shigaraki can potentially just undo whatever Mahito does to change the shape of his soul. Shiggy has shown that he is capable of changing his body's structure on some occasions, so he might adapt to Mahito's Transfiguration that way.
This does however give me a question on if the change in body structure would count as a change in the soul, as any reconstruction to the body of a transfigured soul would result in the same outcome due to Mahito's ability. Which essentially means that if you lose an arm due to transfiguration, if you try to heal that arm, it'll result in the same way, as your body may have healed. But the shape of your soul is still transfigured in that specific way.
Really it all depends on if some of Shigaraki's quirks can change the body and shape of his soul. We do see Mahito change the shape of his soul in order to change his body in battle. So I could see Shigaraki's creation of new limbs counting as the changing of the soul.

Plus Mahito's Transfiguration isn't omnipotent, it is relative to the target he's using it on. Take that fight with Todo, Mahito questioned if he could transfigure Todo in one touch. And Shiggy is insanely more stronger than the JJK verse.
@@AmeChiru Body and Soul are not necessarily the same thing, as Todo cannot heal back his hand due to the shape of his soul being changed. Mahito's ability works by changing the shape of the soul, which changes the body to fit it.
Really the entire thing bubbles down to if Shigaraki can change the shape of his own soul. If he can't, it'll be hard to win especially since Mahito can't be killed unless an attack affects his soul, or he gets absorbed like with Geto's Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Now, if we say that Shigaraki can target the soul with this quirks, then it's easily one sided. The only thing Mahito has going for him, is the technicalities created by the whole, soul thing. As he'd likely have to get a really good grip on Shigaraki to use Idle Transfiguration to the point of killing him. But Shigaraki would have to be able to damage the soul. Which, Mahito can reshape in order to basically heal.
This match up is hard since we don’t know the true limit of Mahito’s regeneration. Is it possible completely destroying his body would take him out, or would he make a new one, similar to how RCT creates blood and stuff? Idk. This alone makes me iffy on either outcome. Kinda lean towards Mahito, but like I said, we don’t really have all the information.
On a side note, Mahito was taken out before reaching his full potential. Imagine how this fight may go if he wasn’t killed and was able to grow more

@@thetruth997_ Well, not “everyone” per se. I’d say Gojo’s instant teleportation technically surpasses any speed the MHA verse has, but that’s a whole other thing. I wasn’t trying to say Mahito is stronger than Shigiraki, just that we can’t be sure if Shigiraki could kill him to begin with. The only thing we’re told can kill him is attacks to his soul. We don’t really know how Mahito would react to his body being completely destroyed, since it wasn’t even brought up as another possible way to kill him. We can only guess whether or not it’d it actually kill him. That’s the one thing that makes me question the outcome of this fight. If it works, Shigiraki wins hands down. If it doesn’t, then Mahito probably wins. Since it working is Shigiraki’s only win condition, we can’t really say for sure who’d win unless Gege for some reason says if complete destruction can kill Mahito or not.

@@speeddevil4040 I’m not sure if that’s quite the same, since by then we’re kinda mixing the two power systems. JJK’s whole system relies on the soul, whereas MHA’s doesn’t (though I admittedly don’t fully understand MHA’s system all that well since it started by saying quirks are all biological or something, but then started introducing more and more ridiculous quirks that have no biological basis at all). So can we really say just because Shigiraki’s been through a similar experience to Yuji he automatically must have a similar ability that coincidentally happens to be Mahito’s one weakness? I don’t really think it’s a concrete argument

Shigaraki when he fully awakened didn’t need to touch you to cause you to decay, if he was touching the ground he can cause the decay on the ground to spread to whatever else is touching the ground.

Yes and no, Mahito could regen from decay done to him. Shigi would not be a ale to come back from idle transfiguration as it reshapes your soul.
Regen is like a wax in mold. You can keep coming back as long as you have wax. Just refill the mold with wax and your good. Mahito can change the shape and form of the mold. So no matter if you regen it won’t go back to it’s original shape unless you can shapeshift.
I do believe in the arguments that there is a version of shigi how would understand the shape of his soul like Yuji. Specifically the version that managed to regain control over his body towards the end of the war. So he could perma hurt Mahito.

It would have to completely ingulf Mahito instantly, and I don’t know if that would kill him, it would do lasting damage but he would have to do that a couple of times to hurt Mahito enough to expand his cursed energy enough to kill him.

Shigaraki is stronger, faster, tougher, has more energy, and shares his body with half a dozen souls and can see souls which means by Jujutsu Kaisen definitions, he's someone that can perceive the shape of a soul so idle transfiguration won't work on him.
perception of the soul does not diffuse IT, the only reason yuji was immune was because of sukuna, but that does mean shigaraki can damage mahito
@titanfruits1845 You haven't read CHAPTER 252 in the manga then. The narrator explicitly told us that knowing the shape of your soul is the reason why Sukuna and Yuji were unaffected by idle trans. They both knew the shape of their souls due to sharing the same body. This is the same reason both Yuji and Sukuna can heal their souls with RCT.

It’s just like the fight between Sukuna and Gojo, Gojo knew Sukuna but he didn’t know the capabilities and damages Sukuna can cause plus he only know Sukuna is the all time Strongest, however Sukuna have seen a few moves of Gojo when he was within Yuji and by then he has already planned on how to take Gojo down it’s the same way with Mahito and Shigaraki whoever moves first makes the kill. However it can come the other way round whoever moves of see the ops technique first can win the fight easily
As much as I don't like MHA. The verse has ia crazy in terms of feats. He unironically will blitz mahito considering he was reacting to straight up light. Shiggy with his constant regen and one shot potential is going to wear Mahito down and eventually give Shiggy the W.
You forgot domains amplification he can basically nullify effect of other abilities on him
But still mha power scaling is way higher and Mahito will be one shot with shere Physical strength of shigaraki
Honestly as a giant BNHA fan this is a no-contest, Mahito would win.
Weakest Shigaraki needs to touch you with ALL 5 fingers, if he loses a finger or if it can't make contact then there's no decay whatsoever, it can't spread from the ground either so Mahito just has to cut off a limb at worst or just change his soul to undo the decay anyways.
Peak Shigaraki (which you don't really seem to mention) could MAYBE win, that's solely because his augmented body was implanted with not just AfO but also because of Doomsday/the Quirk Singularity which makes his body continuously change, grow, and adapt to achieve a perfect ultimate form. All of which in theory would allow him to keep Mahito at a distance and keep hammering him with decay and blitzing him with quirks to burn out his cursed energy, even then however if Mahito used his technique that makes him impervious to damage there's nothing Tomura could do to him. It would just be a battle of seeing how long Mahito can either sustain himself or how long it takes to get his hand on Shigaraki because there's no defense from a soul changing cursed technique in any of BNHA character, though Tomura could technically just avoid him forever making it a draw.
The only way Peak Tomura would win is if he just straight up full-power 100% blitzed Mahito at the start which would wipe him from existence in less than a second.

He’s faster and stronger physically than someone like Gojo, I don’t see why you you think it’s a matter of outlasting, as mahito isn’t immune to non soul damage, it’s just that soul damage is permanent, whereas he can heal normal damage. Meaning decay would very likely still work on him. Mahito’s win condition is domain expansion, but he can’t hit him with that because shigaraki has danger sense and enough speed / reaction time to get out of his range. Shigaraki would simply wail on him until his CT is exhausted, like nanami did. Then it’s over. And it would be faster than when nanami did because he’s so much stronger than him. You’re correct about it being a no contest, but it’s in shigaraki’s favor.
@@HabitualThinker Mahito can heal decay and any quirk damage I'm aware of, further Shigaraki may be super fast but he's not so fast Mahito can't react to it, hell Aizawa can react to his speed and the dude has no body enhancing quirks. You're VASTLY overestimating how fast BNHA characters are, especially when Shigaraki isn't even the fastest one by a mile, not to mention Decay is slow. It's not an instant 'you die' the second he touches you, for someone like Mahito who can freely change/alter their own soul there's nothing he couldn't heal from in Shigaraki's toolkit.
Hence the only chance Tomura has of winning at Peak against Mahito is if he blitzed him and obliterated his entire body before Mahito can respond.
@@boanoah6362 aizawa couldn’t react to him, though. He saw him coming, and someone blocked him from getting to aizawa. The shigaraki I’m talking about is faster than the one who had to deal with aizawa in s6. And you are correct about decay not being instant, but it’s not as simply as healing decay. You can’t “heal” it, you have to sever the limb so it doesn’t destroy your whole body. Nobody in the series has tanked decay without explicitly knowing what it did outside of aizawa erasing it before it could fully activate in S1. He simply needs to mahito silly and then touch him once. Something that would be trivial for shigaraki, making the entire conversation about decay pointless.
Mahito was near death after fighting a yuji who DIDNT understand the soul at the time, and nanami. Nanami also was able to cut off one of mahito’s limbs, making shigaraki’s likelyhood to outright kill him physically even more plausible.

Decay isn’t instant but it’s still fast enough to ensure mahito would die after shigaraki beats him for 30 minutes.
Also, shigaraki IS the fastest MHA character in the verse. The only person comparable to him in the series is Deku during the their final battle, and he admits to being slower if he’s not outright pumping gear shift. It feels like your shigaraki information is outdated.
Prime shigaraki > prime deku > Prime All might.He’s not perception blitzing mahito, but it’s not close.
@@boanoah6362 Mahito's healing is not fast enough to outspeed Decay. By that logic Mahito could survive and out-regenerate a point-blank Hollow Purple or Sukuna's Domain Expansion, both of which deal similarly thorough damage to full-power peak-Shigaraki Decay, which is flat-out wrong.
@@HabitualThinker I've read the entire BNHA series from start to finish, at least as of the current chapter which is basically the end, Shigaraki is NOT the fastest character, Ida is still faster by a mile, even Deku isn't as fast save for in the movies when he moves so fast the speed itself generates enough energy to melt steel. So no, I understand what you're saying but you are wrong, Shigaraki IS fast, at his Peak he moves roughly the speed of a bullet but that's only ever in bursts of speed.
Decay isn't a problem for Mahito, with the ability to change his soul he can just undo the damage it's doing, hell he can just transform his body to be super long if he wanted to just to slow decay's spread even further. You have 0 basis whatsoever to say decay can't be healed through, no one in BNHA has instant healing except for Shigaraki/AfO, the only people that even COULD be healed survived, aka Overhaul. The way decay works is breaking physical things down to dust (except liquids) and from what I recall Mahito could theoretically survive as long as his brain/soul remains and decay can't hit the brain directly with the fluid barrier so not even decay to the face would kill Mahito.
Also Yuji CAN see/understand the soul, that was his strong point, Shigaraki CANNOT, he has 0 means to directly attack or damage Mahito's soul, his only means of attack are purely physical.
Unless I missed something I'm pretty sure a shotgun wouldn't kill Mahito so I doubt punching him super hard or moving super fast is going to permanently put him down either. Of Tomura's confirmed quirks at his disposal there's nothing that would by itself instantly destroy Mahito's entire body, only AfO when taking control of his body was shown to have that kind of ability and even then it was never utilized.
All of this without mentioning that if Mahito touches or gets Tomura in his domain that it's game over, Shigaraki has 0 soul protection or magic that would stop transfiguration.

Shigaraki adjusting to quirks gave him the ability of singularity where he grows grotesque blobs of flesh uncontrollably that enveloped a decent portion of MA at one point, I guess you can kind of count this as a sort of "domain expansion" if I were to parallel it with what Mahito does.

I'd go for Shigaraki with his awakening from the Redestro fight as the best Shigaraki-Shigaraki. Only his quirk and own progression.
It doesn't change much with Mahito able to fly and just divebomb Shigaraki then... but after the Redestro fight Shigaraki gained a range option with being able spread his quirk to anything connected. Touch the ground or a building, it can spread directly to the people inside of it. Mahito still wins easily with him just being able to avoid the range of attack and get in close.
As for post AFO-Shigaraki. Same views. I do think the domain would be more impactful especially if Shigaraki is trying to smack Mahito with his nomu modifications... and Shigaraki after copying Gojo's domain activation has one of the fastest domains in JJK i think if Mahito in any scenario where he got in close or extended his limbs to try to hit Mahito, Mahito wins.. but fighting at range Shigaraki wins and attritions his cursed energy if not obliterates him enitrely.

Realistically Shigaraki can’t even see curses so that’s already a disadvantage then Mahito could like one shot him with a touch while even if Shigaraki could see and attack a curse we don’t even know if he could one tap Mahito because we aren’t sure if decay can eradicate/decay the soul.
He can sense him with danger sense. Also shigaraki can perceive the soul because AFO’s “soul” is residing within him

In the jjk verse seeing curses and having cursed energy is based on negative emotions like grief and anger. Who better than Shigaraki to have these characteristics. He can definitely see Mahito dude

You don't need to see the soul to kill Mahito, you need to see the soul to deal irreversible damage to Mahito. If you kill him before he can regenerate, you win.

Cut his arm off? He can grow it (specifically, he can “manipulate” his soul to have a hand again, and since the body follows the soul, then his body would regrow a hand).
However, if you kill him in one shot and leave no trace of him left, then he can’t “grow back” anything.
Shigaraki has feats of decaying the souls tied to the All For One quirk factor and the One For All quirk factor, so no Shigaraki through his quirk can attack the soul. Mahito is not safe from taking any permanent damage.

the only thing Mahito has going for him is domain expansion, and assuming he's even fast enough to get it off (and we ignore the no cursed energy thing for fairness sake) there's a high possibility that All For One does the same thing as Sukuna, forcing Mahito to close his domain.
This all assumes late game versions of Shigaraki ofc, earlier versions of Shiggy don't have much they can do against Mahito.

i haven’t watched mha enough to have a bias for shigaraki, but would the domain even work on him? cursed energy doesnt exist outside of JJK so could be even be hjt by it?

If he and Mahito were to fight, he would almsot certainly gain cursed energy from the environment, atmosphere or Mahito, which would allow his Domain to target him.
Heck, even if he didn't any before Mahito opened his Domain, the domain would probably give him some anyway.

Like in boxing. If rounds were infinite then I’m sure a lot of losers would be winners off of simply fighting for an unreasonably long time when it’s just a contest of ability gained through training.

I think mahito was severely underestimated here, he has tons of options.
Considering the fact that shigaraki can't deal soul dommage, mahito can make himself as big as he wants, without risking anything.
You might argue that decay will kill him in one go even is his is big but mahito can just cut the decayed part out of his body nullifying decay.
Also, awakened mahito will be able to armor his now gigantic body, making blasting him in one attack close to impossible. Even if charging an attack with multiple quirks as OFA did vs bakugou, mahito can use soul multiplicity to counter the attack like bakugou did.
If shigaraki tries to draw out the fight Mahito could also make an army with soul isomering, which can have specialized properties.
Also we don't know how good awakened mahito is, for all we know he could change the size of his barrier to be able to catch shigaraki at insane distance, we already seen mahito do 0.1 seconds domain expansion, he could also imitate what gojo did vs sukuna.
Not even taking account how mahito could take a binding vow to only target shigaraki with him. Or taking a biding vow to never use cursed energy ever again after this fight, making him way stronger than we ever saw in JJK.
If Shigaraki could decay air, use another power to throw a projectile on which he applied decay to spread decay to the people hit by the projectile etc etc... But we never saw him even remotely coming close to such uses, which makes me think that either lacks the intellect to use his power that way, or his power lacks the flexibility that mahito CT has.
I think awakened mahito is underestimated because we only saw him fight against yuji, his worst matchup, and insanely weakened from a really tedious fight. But against Shigaraki which is his best matchup because he cannot target his soul or use cursed energy, his options increase so much that I think he would win most of the time.

@samuel-yu8xz verse equalization doesn't automatically allow shigaraki to see cursed spirits, he lacks a sorcerer brain to perceive mahito, but let's say he's able to know mahitos there with danger sense, well nothing happens because mahito can easily beat shigaraki since shigaraki wouldn't know what mahito is doing just when he's attacking and from what directing, also shigi has no cursed energy control so he won't really be able to hurt mahito anyways, this fight isn't fair only because shigaraki just can't see or harm mahito.

You left out the most important part of this debate! Shigaraki is aware of his own soul because he shares his body with All For One. Because of this, we know for a fact he can do soul damage to Mahito. Additionally, I speculate Idle Transfiguration is useless on Shigaraki. All For One would overwhelm Mahito’s soul and remove him before he can do any damage, just as Sukuna does for Yuji. Shigaraki no diffs, it’s not even close.
Even if Shigaraki can sense the soul of mahito he lacks the means to target it. Physical attacks can't reach the sould like curse energy do.
Also I don't think OFA could nullify mahito CT like Sukuna does given OFA has no affinity with cursed energy, and his powers dont take effect in the soul plane.

shigaraki, in season 7, can perceive the soul too and is WAY stronger and faster than shibuya yuji so even left right good night would be enough.
