    Several years ago, someone recommended to The Diana Ross to listen to this video. She watched it, then spent several hours watching other HF videos. She then requested HF to perform at her 75th birthday bash, which they did).

    I'm afraid I'm about to go on a rather fanatical rant. They've covered literally everything. Their versions of the classic country standards "Ring of Fire" and "Man of Constant Sorrow" are simply iconic and not to be missed. Then, in a very strange twist for me I'm probably most blown away by their country Chistian renditions of "How Great Thou Art" (which actually makes me cry) and "Amazing Grace". Both of which are equally iconic, the best I've ever heard.
    Then there is Christmas! Gees, they do "O Holy Night" and "Angel's We Have Heard on High" so well it just makes you want to grin. Then they embrace social justice topics with brilliant instincts in "In the Blood", "Brothers in Arms", and, "Don't Laugh at Me".
    They also do solo and duo side projects....the lead tenor, Austin Brown's voice is just so angelic/sexy that his leads as well as his solo endeavors like "Unchained Melody" (though I still think Bobby Hatfield's can't really be beaten) and "Bring Him Home " are just phenomenal. He has a gloriously gorgeous and diverse array of vocal skills and control.
    Then, when you think you've heard it all you find Austin and the "second" tenor Rob Lundquist "try" Opera and simply kill "Nessun Dorma", especially Rod (who's voice is also exceptional), who gives a fair tribute to Pavarotti in his tone and timbre. The bass of the group, Tim Foust, is a true basso profundo, going down to a G1 with a 5 octave range above it!
    Not to mention the beatboxer, Adam Rupp, who is beyond awesome (a term I dislike, and rarely use, especially when referring to humans) He is a complete percussion section. He has a "Drum Solo" out which is jaw dropping.
    On top of all that, their musicality and vocal orchestrations are quite literally, sublime.
    I told you it was going to be a fanatical rant....OMG, I've become a "home fry" (as they call their fans, home fries)....Had to tell someone, Danny just says, that's nice. Forget the rather rambling rant...quite a pleasant rabbit hole! Love ya, Dan

      not to be picky, but you left out Chance! The addition of Chance's silky, smokey baritone/bass has allowed Tim to be more flexible in the parts he does, and when they BOTH go low, the sound is mesmerizing.

    • @vegaswillie
      @vegaswillie Год назад

      @@nancyholter5646 Chance doesn't get anything close to the credit he deserves. He is so underrated. He is able to hold done the bass which allows Tim to showoff that 5 octave range. I would be nice if he was featured more. He could go out on his own and do very well. Actually all 5 guys could go solo and do very well .
      PLEASE DON'T.

    • @nancyholter5646
      @nancyholter5646 Год назад +2

      @@vegaswillie Tim is always quick to reassure people when Sweet & Low perform that he and Austin are NOT leaving Home Free, they just can't get enough singing so they started another group for their "spare" time. And Chance is getting ready to release his new solo album soon, too. Home Free's reduced touring schedule has allowed them all to keep doing some of the things they rediscovered during lockdown and still keep HF doing well.

    The Lego figurines are from Home Free's video "Crazy Life (the Lego video)" - if you haven't seen it yet, it's probably the most original video you can see on y/t. They do everything from gospel to goofy, from uplifting to bawl-your-eyes out ballads. 2 of them are songwriters and there are lots of originals on y/t including "Snow Globe" & "Remember This" (Tim Foust wrote them); "Love Me Like That" and "Save the World" (Austin's) among others. Keep falling down the rabbit hole! Love from a new subscriber in Canada.

    Enjoying your reactions, a lot. I'd like to suggest another Home Free, "Helplessly Hoping" a Crosby, Stills and Nash cover. A change of pace from "Love Train" but amazing with 5 part harmony. Also their newest release "Giving up on You", a collaboration with the guys from Texas Hill. It's an original written by Tim Foust, the HF bass phenom, and Adam Wakefield, piano player in Texas Hill. Thanks for the joy.

    This is a good one. Yes, those were their fans sending in videos dancing to this one. And yes Tim is the bass with a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing up high with the tenors. When Tim sings high Chance (who wore the sunglasses in this one) will take over the bass. Such a good rendition. You might like Blue Ain’t Your Color, Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You. Good reaction!

    I agree about the song choices. I don't listen to much Pentatonix or Voiceplay, not because they're not really good, but because I just don't like their song choices as much. Home Free sings more of the music I like.
