  • Broadway actor Nick Cordero suffered a setback in his battle against the coronavirus when the 41-year-old Tony nominee went into septic shock after developing a lung infection. Cordero is in a medically induced coma and has been on a ventilator for a month. Gayle King speaks to his wife, fitness instructor Amanda Kloots, who says she is optimistic about his recovery.

    This is why people should not be tested ONLY when meeting a certain criteria. Omg they are still learning about this virus and everything about it! Everyone should be able to be tested with complaints of ANY concerning symptoms!

      not sure how testing is conducted in your area, but the very act of testing means travelling and being exposed, which is a risk as well.

    It was so sad what happened, I was also in the hospital back early in the lockdown and the 1st part of her story literally sounds like mine, fainted, sent to urgent care, then hospitalized. I was lucky to survive, but there was a lot of fear during that time, as a Broadway fan as well, prayers and support to have to hear how fast everything moved. 😭

    I'm angry and he wasn't my love. He wasn't diagnosed and then automatically they give him drugs that failed and caused his heart to stop. Hook him up to an echmo and damage his main artery. I feel like medicine failed with their bad guesses and neglect. Most importantly I'm angry because we have a president that inspired the architect of this virus. It feels like the judgement has gone haywire and the wrong people are leaving. My heart hurts.💔

    Covid does not necessarily have to be a dry cough. Covid is a pneumonia like symptoms definite respiratory symptoms...fatigue, continued cough wet or dry, headaches, migraines, joint pain, fainting, difficulty breathing. Cupping the back/lungs areas as soon as, someone suspects Covid “helps decrease” the Covid virus from sticking to the lungs. May peace and happier times expeditiously come into Nick’s family and loved ones lives.

I wouldn’t ask my husband to do it if he isn’t feeling well as to prevent the baby from catching it personally. Obviously if it’s the only option then by all means of course you gotta do what you gotta do. I also think people can care for a sick person, follow proper hygiene and not catch it as well, as I’ve managed to steer clear of catching bugs others in my household got.

    I’m sorry this man loss his life. I’m sorry for his family. However, it sounds like he had pneumonia, but the doctors experimented with the Coronavirus clinical trials. Their experimental treatments didn’t work but only made his condition worsen. This interview sounds forced and rehearsed. I believe this gentleman’s condition got worse by being in the hospital, which is highly probable. I don’t believe he ever had COVID-19 but died of pneumonia; an illness he contracted from the hospital (probably a staff infection);; and experimental drugs. Again, I’m sorry he lost his life and for his family. May he Rest In Peace.

    • @BlueButterfly7777
      @BlueButterfly7777 4 года назад

      He didn't have to lose his leg either. He had to rely on an ECMO. That's done with two cannulas inserted in the groin. One of them pressed on his right femoral artery for 16? hours and cut off the blood flow to his leg. There were many mistakes made at home, at the Urgent Care, and the hospital. I don't think they'll ever be talked about because they would crush poor Amanda. She's always kept an extremely positive attitude while some people could not. I am a little bit older and much more experienced. I looked death in the eye myself at 24 with three weeks in the ICU. Every day there was a new problem after my accident - I developed pneumonia, that CT scan showed bruised lungs, then traumatic pancreatitis, ileus, (paralysis of the intestines), etc But I turned a corner 15 days in. Nick never turned a corner. Drs. told Amanda Nick would need a double lung transplant when he got stronger. He'd lost 65 lbs. Then suddenly he needed a lung transplant NOW. That sounded very, very bad, didn't it? They felt he'd need it NOW. To live.

      Some people who are hurting deal with their pain outwardly because they are in shock and denial...they know its happening but they can't really deal with it so they tend to post.

      @@winfredforrest2686 It helped her to share. That's not my style either but it's hers. I didn't get the sunny smile (which is beautiful btw) and the singing outside his hospital window for months while he was sedated and on a ventilator and she couldn't visit and the cheery updates. But I cared enough to respect her style and pray for Nick. For over three months that's all anyone could do. I believe Nick is finally out of agony and at peace. God bless him. Way too soon.

      @E M E M I mean... I'm 21 and this quarantine has been affecting my sleep like crazy...not to say that I'm sick or anything, because I've made sure to take the right precautions and I bet their family did too, but that's beside the point...all I'm saying is that sleeping issues or copious amounts of sleep or fatigue can of course be linked to various different illnesses, diseases, or even just simply depression. The reason they probably didnt seek medical attention at first was also probably due to the fact that hospitals and clinics right now are only taking in either serious cases/emergencies or strictly covid19 patients. Yes, even though heavy sleep and small appetite is concerning (and neither of us can speak for them as a couple) they probably didnt think it was as dire and urgent as recent hospitalization cases...maybe they thought it was just a seasonal flunk of sorts. We wont know his opinion till he wakes up (which thankfully doctors reported he's in the early stages of waking up :) )

      My husband and I had Covid-19 symptoms a couple of months ago. When we called our doctor, we were told we were not "sick " enough to even get tested. Our doctor said just assume we had it. We were not "sick " enough to even get a test at the hospital. However we were so sick with the worst temperatures, headaches, dizziness, chills and nightmares. Luckily we both improved with Gods grace. To be "sick " enough to get a test you had to walk and be out of breathe. B.S.

      When it takes anyone an hour to get from bed to kitchen table due to weakness I can't imagine, they need to be urgently hospitalized immediately, not a week later. This was a young family who'd just moved to a reno house across the country with a 9 month old and busy careers. I don't think COVID occurred to them. I'm devastated.😥

    They waited too long to test for COVID 19. Shes strong now but at some point she will just break down and that is normal and healthy i hope there will be people to pick her up when she collapses. I wonder if someone suggested she sue for malpractice. They should have tested him the first time he went to the hospital.

      YEARS AGO DOCTORS WOULD TREAT PNEUMONIA SUCCESSFULLY WITH 3 PER CENT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. I GUESS THEY WOULD JUST RUB IT INTO THE CHEST. A MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION RUBBED ON THE CHEST WOULD HELP SIGNIFICANTLY ALSO. WE ARE SENIOR WE USE MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION EVERYDAY.
