- Nintendo Switch is getting Hogwart's Legacy and Switch owners will love being able to play it on the subway as they gather spells and explore the grounds of Hogwarts and the surrounding area. But there is one problem, that is not unique to Hogwarts Legacy in the open world game genre and they missed a huge opportunity to easily overcome it.

Ok I extremely disagree with you. The biggest flaw is that it was a prequel? What are you on about. That was one of it's greatest strengths. New Characters, a new world to explore not the same old shit about Voldemort again.
Also, how are you expecting to experience new and interesting stories if you skip all the dialog? No wonder, you don't remember any character if you don't listen to what they have to say. Legacy had some really interesting characters that were actually kinda deep.
What games do you need to have played played if "Dialog in games is usually forgettable" is really a stance you are willing to take.
Hogwarts Legacy had some flaws, yeah. But being a prequel wasnt one of them.
This is what a comment section is for! Thanks for your take. I disagree, the game had to make me care about the characters then they won’t just become objective marker dispensers. If they were known characters then the job would have been done for them. What do u think was its biggest flaw?

And you are right, the game has to make you care about it’s characters! But I’m questioning how you will ever care about new characters, if you skip through all the dialog. You‘re not even giving them a chance to make you care.
To answer your question: I think it’s biggest flaw is the repetitiveness. Once there are no new spells to learn, every encounter is kinda the same. Also with the talents you get so strong, that fights aren’t a challenge anymore but become a chore.
I did watch the dialogue at first but the characters were all so “oh my god you’re so great” they had no depth eventually I tuned it out
Totally agree. the game being set 100+ years in the past is what made it initially more appealing to me. There's already a massive oversaturation of HP content in the same timeline -- I'm very glad that this mixed this up. I also agree with your other points -- the dialogue and characters are all incredibly compelling and well done and I found myself listening to and reading everything, when I usually skip all reading in games.
I watched OP's video about how terrible and forgettable the characters and dialogue are in Starfield and totally agree with that, but Hogwarts is miles above and I daresay some of the richest dialogue and acting in a game this year
I think you should watch the musical “Puffs”!
It follows the Hufflepuffs throughout the series who are background wallflowers (except for Cedric) and it touches exactly on the key points you would like to see!

Yeeees! That would be amazing. I'd love to wander through the original story that way. I suppose wr can dream. I feel like Legacy is a solid foundation for future games in the franchise, the castle itself is truly magical. I'm only a few hours into the PC version but so far I'm very happy with it.
I started to play on the Switch and the graphics aren't great.

I had to get used to the low frame rate with the new Zelda, luckily it was really fun to play so it was okay
