Look more closely at the vid, if you notice that all his hits were bumper to sheet metal and in the end the bumper will always win! If it was filled with cement you would see it coming out.
Those Lincoln's have some solid front end's. Someone I know entered one with suicide doors one last year at the clinton county demo in plattsburgh ny, and won the demo with it and then a week later he entered it into another demo and almost won the feature with it.
I was about to buy a 69 suicide lincoln but my trucks transmission blew a day before I was tempted to swap my demo car tranni to go get it now it is gone

I don't know if anyone replied to this question for you but in the title, dr stands for door, some lincoln continentals had suicide doors that were hinged in the back and opened in front and got their name because if the door was opened at high speed the wind resistance could bend it back or even tear it off. What's the whole point of stopping the derby to pull debris off the track? I've never been in a derby or seen one that did that. One derby I ran in I lost my rear bumper and then got stuck on it lol. Makes it more interesting to leave the debris
Normally I would think a car that doesn’t bend is cheated but those 60’s Lincoln’s have a hard subframe plus the stock suspension and the way it’s shaped makes all the hit go backwards not up or down almost straight back eventually they bend up but they’re so tough similar to 60’s dodges
I find it amazing how tough these are...along with imperials. Im looking for a 65 lincoln 4 door to restore and just have for fun. Im not much into destroying them, But there were plenty made and many are not worth restoring. I just dont want to do that much effort just to ruin it...lol
I remember those loaded up lincolns. Not hard to drive and be confident with 2x2 up through the fenders and stuff. He got caught by the guys at Cayuga Indiana one year.

Yall it's a linkoln it's probably not cheating because he probably just used that year bumper on his car I've seen it done it's a stock bumper that don't budge if you look it don't damage the bumper

They won’t an imperial or a roundback usually beats em they have strong front ends but they’re low imperials tend to be high up so they usually get to the squishy parts of the front end on the suicide Lincoln’s aka radiator fenders hood
Exactly my point, you're 16, I've been building for longer than you've been alive, and I'm only 28. There's a big difference in winning some no name show where you kick the windows out and a real show where everyone knows what they're doing. Sure you can build a car for five hundred, but you'll end up looking like majority of the cars in this video, I love running against people like you, makes my job that much easier.
So did you win or did they just take you out for hitting too hard? And if it's the second one, if they're that concerned they should sell pads and other safety stuff in the pits to prevent injuries. You don't see banger races get stopped because someone hit too hard.

too bad good officials didn't allow him to run in the limited weld class a couple weeks later. they are tough but the rules allowed were extreme at jasper. no complaints he did what i wanted to do to my car and thats junk it.

I ran a '65 Lincoln back in the summer of '74, winning 5 out of 7 derbies. The only times I lost I was hung up on the barriers and ended up 3rd times.

the Car is a 61-63 continental, they came factory with a 430 ci. about 300-320 hp. the noise clip is one solid piece on these years.

That front end had to be cheated up no way it could have survived the hits he was doing.
I ran some derbys in IL, some cars got tech'd more than others. It's obvious that Lincoln got passed over some.
It's a suicide. You can nose bomb these cars all night long. Most derbys don't allow suicides along with imperials..

Thats bull its all in what the rules are . If you can weld it .That makes a big difference from a wire car to a welded car
