- Impress for less with this melt in the mouth Piri Piri Pork Belly Recipe complete with perfectly crisp crackling. A bay leaf and paprika oil infuses the meat with incredible flavour and chunks of sweet potato, chilli, garlic and passata forms a punchy Piri Piri sauce. Cooked low and slow and topped with rosemary this tender meat is best served with rice and a simple chopped salad.
This recipe was first aired in 2014 on Ch4 as part of Jamie’s Money Saving Meals series.

I have been watching your cooking videos for more than 10 years now . From the Naked chef to Jamie at home and I purchase many of your books too . I started watching when I am around 10 years old that is the time my parents cut off my cartoons channel and it diverted me to the cooking channel 😂. If it wasn't for that decision I won't have learned how to cook and how to many properly meals for my family !
What I want to say is a Big Thank You to you Jamie Oliver and Gerano Contaldo for inspiring me and motivate me how to cook ! If it wasn't for you guys my Christmas meals won't be filled with "Crispy Baked potatoes " , " perfect roasted chicken " , " apple pie " and many more !
No I am not a chef , I am a law student . I promise myself one day that I will fly to the UK and visit Jamie and his restaurant . I will make this dream come true 😊. Thank you for constantly uploading delicious and awesome recipe .

Made this twice, very nice and tasty ! Though i had to double the oil and praprika as it wasn't enough when it came to it. And my belly was the boneless one, smaller.
cooking big portions of meat kind of scares me but I think even I could cook this! can't wait and I'm sure my partner will appreciate it too! we both love pork belly, so a new twist on the flavour will be great! we usually eat it korean bbq style or samgyeopsal style

Made it and just finished eating... it was tasty and very tender, I would suggest jazzing up the sauce a bit, probably some brown sugar would have paired well.

Question:
Built-in full oven is extremely hard to find and expensive (to buy and maintain) in Asia. That is if the kitchen is built to allow one to be placed at all.
A lot of people end up using stove top, electric convection oven instead. Do I have to alter the cooking time if I want to cook with that?

I would season the pork belly with a Knorr pork stock cube and olive oil, but still use a bayleaf oil and paprika.

I love how all these cuts are cheap anywhere except Australia, where thanks to shows like MasterChef and MKR the cuts that used to be cheap no longer are. :(
Same thing happened here in TX with beef fajitas (skirt steak), matambre (diaphraghm) and beef tongue. Now beef cheek and pork shoulder are being inflated. We frikkin dumb-ass gringos don’t know how to keep from over-celebrating the cheap cuts and making the prices explode.

It probably has to do with the air circulation in your oven. Try covering the dish with aluminum foil, with the middle cut out, at the start of the cooking process. It works on pies.
