    I planted one Little Quick Fire. Love it! I only planted ONE, because I knew the deer would be a problem. I thought I could protect just one plant....but no. The deer are relentless. I am planning to remove it. So very sad! I loved the 787% humidity comment. I have been joking lately that i need to garden in scuba gear so I can breathe under all the water in the air. Your hedge will be gorgeous! Can't wait to see it in full glory!

      Oh Kristy, deer are horrible with their love of hydrangeas. ☹️ I’m glad you bought only one (bright side?!?) Scuba gear is a great description! 🤿 Just standing outside, not yet moving, and my skin begins to glisten - at least that’s a nice way to say it. 🥵🙂🙃

    Beautiful little shrub Laura! I love the textured leaves and that pink hue looks beautiful with the blue star juniper.
    I’m jealous of your Kramers Red Winter Heath!!! I was inspired by yours and did plant some this past Spring, along with some daffodils and grape hyacinth. Two of the Kramers Red look just okay, and the third is really struggling. I think I haven’t been providing enough water with the long stretches of heat we had this summer. Hoping for some pretty color this winter and into the Spring!!🤞🏼

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 месяца назад

      Thanks Allison! 🤗 Don’t give up on the Kramers Heath - just keep giving them lots of water. It may take longer for them to settle in, with the horrible heat we’ve had. But once they settle in, although they still appreciate water they can handle less of it once established. Are you seeing any of the flower buds yet?

      @@GardenSanityactually yes!! I looked this evening and the 2 better looking plants do have plenty of bright green. My sad looking plant also has some buds!!

      Awesome!! Hooray for those tiny buds! 😀 I have a Kramer’s Red that had struggled for many years, but I kept it. It’s finally starting to look respectable. 🤣 Hopefully yours will improve and by next year will look like your others. 💜

    Nice! You got me thinking about planting more hydrangeas. Maybe, you could do a hedge of Tiny Tuff Stuff right behind it under the maple tree? Or just one to see if you like it. I have a glass of cuttings sitting on my counter. Wish me luck!

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 месяца назад +1

      Oh a hedge of Tiny Tuff Stuff sounds nice Will, especially if your cuttings make up part of the hedge! Yes I still have Tiny Tuff Stuff on my “list” as well as filling up the space around the maple tree. I keep thinking more hellebores for under the tree. I definitely want to tuck at least one TTS in somewhere. 👍

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 месяца назад

      @willaerley7140 Thanks Will, but keep those for your own garden. 🤗 Since Tiny Tuff Stuff is a patented plant, it’s actually not legal to propagate the plants and share with others while the plant is under patent (similar to copyright). But no worries as I know I’ll add one…hopefully next year! 🤞💙🙏

    More hydrangeas! Yes. Never enough as they are showy and low maintenance. Never a wrong time to plant as my addiction needs constant playing in the dirt. Actually heading out now hoping to find some sad plants on sale😜

      That’s what makes this fan so handy: lightweight yet rugged so I can carry it around but not baby it. I don’t do well with mosquito bites. 😬
