    I love how easily their argument fell apart in court. They essentially had to argue that players should not be allowed to consider the information revealed to them during the course of play. That's like arguing a poker player shouldn't be allowed to consider the hands of other players in their bets.

      "Unfortunately the question is of no value today as casino have implemented counter measures like multiple decks and frequent shoe replacement." Personally I am ok with the measures you mentioned, as it affects ALL players equally. What I think is 100% BS is that casinos are allowed to ban players that know how to win.
      I understand it being private property and all, but I am sure there are legal ways to keep casino private property yet prevent them from trespassing people just for winning. I am no legal expert by any means, but I am pretty sure that legally a private casino (or any other business) can't refuse service to all latinos, or all asians even though it is private property, but in our private homes we can openly refuse entrance to all latinos, or all asians, or whatever.

Gaming commission could make a rule that if a business wants to offer gambling on their private property, they CAN'T ban people just because they win too much.
      Was watching non related casino videos, and seem in Europe, at least in England a casino can't just ban you for winning too much.

      @@CancunManny you're half correct. in almost all states in the US casinos can throw you out for counting cards, except for in new jersey. however as far as i know they can still restrict you to a flat bet once they realize you're counting, which kinda defeats the point, but at least they can't throw you out or ban you from the tables completely

    • @CancunManny
      @CancunManny 2 месяца назад

      @@oventree Nice to hear that at least in NJ they try to use a bit more common sense. As far as I know, if they use multiple decks and they shuffle before half the deck is dealt it makes card counting pretty much useless. That would be a better solution than a flat bet.
      Besides counting cards, I think most casinos in USA can kick you out for no reason, hence if you are winning too much and they don't know how, they can still ask you to stop playing or to leave the property all together.

  • @matthewbeaton7762

    The biggest crime is that the casinos can legally have an advantage towards themselves but as soon as someone swings that advantage they cry poor and can kick them out or ban them entirely. They also target intoxicated patrons and as long as they are losing they let them keep losing, as soon as they start to win it’s “oh sorry sir/madam but you’re intoxicated, you’ll need to leave”.

    Casinos only still offer blackjack, because it is still overall profitable to the casino.
    Also most blackjack now, has a higher house edge (certain rules), where card counting doesn't make it profitable for the player.
    So if you pick a random casino without any attention paid to the rules and card count perfectly forever, you could still have less than 50% odds and always bleed money.

    Casinos don't like to lose. And sometimes, they will not lose. My husband was in Las Vegas in the nineties , and playing blackjack . He was trying a new staking system that, in practice , was winning alot of money , and consistently. The system had a strategy in which the player writes down his bets, for himself to keep track.
    Even though , at the time , he was playing with only red chips ($5) and started off with only about $60, he had grown his stake to over $350 in less than an hour. The casino management noticed and weren't pleased. When he increased his unit chip to $25, they stepped in and barred him from the table, even through all the tables were very busy and the table he was at a table that had changed players twice. They were running scared. The same thing happened when he went to the baccarat tables, except he made alot more money.

    NJ can't throw you out now, but it's meaningless; their games suck, it's a dangerous area and they can simply make the games worse (they can flat bet a player which is just as bad as kicking them out.) Vegas is actually better, they rarely bar players but most of the games suck. All you have to do is cut off 2 decks from an 8 deck shoe and you're risking thousands to win min wage (casino makes almost as much as normal, losing pennies for switching machine shuffled shoes.) The real advantage play being done is computers posing as people on poker sites, as long as they don't play an inhuman amount of poker it's hard to be sure and they won't kick them out unless they're sure. A guy got kicked out, but he had to admit it to get kicked out. At micro stakes, if you had enough bots you could make money; but imagine someone going from low stakes to higher and higher with a top level program (not a cheap bot.) Top players could beat it, but eventually even they'd be losing money to it; assuming it doesn't beat them to start. Personally, I never sought to 'take them down' when I played seeking advantage (though it's also not unethical to do so, as casinos take a lot from those with little); but I do think it's wrong to seek to gain unreasonable advantage over individuals.

    • @jfbeam
      @jfbeam 3 месяца назад +1

      Vegas does indeed blacklist counters. While there are ways to even the odds, casinos don't want even odds; they like having a significant advantage. (shuffling the deck effectively kills any counting, but it takes time.) I had a coworker who was "asked" to stop playing because he was counting. He wasn't mistreated, or thrown out, just prohibited from playing blackjack. Counting isn't difficult, esp. for someone who deals with lots of numbers professionally.

    The casinos set themselves up for this. Wherever you hear the term "flow of cards" it refers to the sequence of cards in a stacked deck and casino personnel often refer to the disruption of the "flow of cards" by card counters. They stack the decks because it's the only way to set up a winning seat (and a reason for others to lose their money) at every table.
    The thing to remember is that Blackjack is a game of memory. The point is to remember every card that's been dealt and, on top of that, maintain an awareness of the remaining cards and their odds of being dealt. Blackjack, played according to the actual rules of the game (as found in any book on cardgames, not the various casino "rules") is good preparation for more sophisticate cardgames such as Gin/Conga and Bridge.
    However, what happens when card counters enter the casino blackjack game is that you now have a witness to the presence of 8 aces of spades in a six deck shoe. There are legal implications which are bigger than having a winner at the table (which you need in order to keep the table full and the money flowing from the other five or seven players).

    While counting cards is just "skilled play", _communicating_ that count to others is cheating. That's "signalling", and is absolutely illegal. They weren't arrested for counting, but for the signalling. Their lawyers were apparently too lazy to bring that up.

    • @TILT223
      @TILT223  3 месяца назад +4

      Players are allowed to talk at the table and communicate, some give eachother tips - that's not illegal? Its quite funny becasue the casino only call it foul play when the tips are good. If it a dummy loser dishing them out they're more than happy to let it happen. Perhaps if they want to call it illegal, they should refund every player that ever acted on bad advice given by someone else at the table. Reasonable right?

      @@TILT223 General banter, and even "tips" on how to play are legal. But "signalling" is a form of cooperative play, and thus cheating. I can't sit at the table calling out the count, for example. If you sit there constantly telling others how to play, you're going to be removed.

      @@jfbeamby that logic, dealers who say the number of the cards the player has so that the player doesn't have to count, would be signaling. The dealer is relaying information to the player that he COULD have if he did the math himself, but doesn't have if he plays mindlessly like the casino wants. That exact description also fits saying the count out loud, which is readily available to anyone who has bothered to pay attention enough to have that information

    Honestly, if there's going to be a law on the books defending counters, it should be that any casino that deems someone's play as "too good for them" should be required to give that person unlimited room, food, and beverage comps FOR LIFE. They should effectively be able to live at that establishment and not pay a penny for the rest of their days. Make it prohibitively expensive to bar a counter. Alternatively, a law package that prohibits backoffs, tresspassing, preferential shuffling, restricting the bet limits beyond what is posted at the table, as well as 6:5 blackjack, dealers hitting on soft 17, removing the surrender option, limiting double down and splits at all (including Aces)...force the casinos to deal a fair game to all patrons and accept they're going to lose to counters over the long term. The only protection the casino should have is maximum daily win limits per patron that should be in the mid five figure range.
