I do looooooooooove looooooooooove my Maiden. Fowley would agree. Bring on the Exhumed, the Tish, some Overkill...but the Maiden reigns supreme for me. The new Antichrist Siege Machine is amazing. I thought War Metal wasn’t for me until I heard the new album. Love the guitar tone and riffs. It’s nothing original sure, but the songs are great.

Infernal Dominion is half Incantation styled DM-half brutal death metal/slam that formed out of the ashes of Imprecation. Wes Weaver(R.I.P.) later distanced himself from that band because he hated slam. That album is fucking great though. all his bands were great IMO. I know you said you weren't into Imprecation much but to me they had a lot in common with Decrepit, When I listen to Theurgia Goetia Summa I gotta listen to Creation of Sin afterwards.

Only a few thousand 'glam metal' fans in Texas and Louisiana had even heard of Pantera before they put out Cowboys from Hell. Those early albums are juvenile recordings, they were only made because Vinnie and Darrel's dad invested some money in them. Power Metal is the first semi-mature record and Anselmo is already taking them in a new direction. I think you've got to have at least some credit in the bank before you 'sell out' and Pantera didn't have any. Most people didn't know about those pre-Cowboys records until years later, although they claim they did.
I thought Cowboys was fantastic when I first heard it. It was a "move over Metallica moment." ( in the early 90s ) I never knew about the glam stuff until much later, like most everyone.

I’ve never met anyone who likes cradle of filth, let alone ‘19 year old gothic tails’, and I’m from England and a similar age as well.
Can someone explain who their primary audience is? Cause they’re not really respected by the older black metal fans (a genre which already has a small fanbase) and they’re not exactly super mainstream either such that non-metal fans would listen to them.
Maybe cause I’m too young to have known about them when they were most popular (I think mid 2000s?), but I’m really confused as to who they’re fans are and why they’re considered popular.

Pantera remains the biggest Sellout band in the history of music. It all started with Cowboys From Hell and plagiarism of Exhorder

Only a few thousand 'glam metal' fans in Texas and Louisiana had even heard of Pantera before they put out Cowboys from Hell. Those early albums are juvenile recordings, they were only made because Vinnie and Darrel's dad invested some money in them. Power Metal is the first semi-mature record and Anselmo is already taking them in a new direction.
I think you've got to have at least some credit in the bank before you 'sell out' and Pantera didn't have any. Most people didn't know about those pre-Cowboys records until years later, although they claim they did.

Cowboys from Hell is a metal masterpiece. It has similar vocals to Exhorder, but I wouldn't call it plagiarism.
I thought Cowboys was fantastic when I first heard it. It was a "move over Metallica moment." ( in the early 90s ) I never knew about the glam stuff until much later, like most everyone.
