Love this game, broke my PlayStation with it. Get a weapon that scales with time played, so I let it run for 5 days… very strong weapon, very weak PlayStation.

I really like how you were creative and used both the Neutron Bomb and the Summon Spirit to kill the red skeleton and activate the elevator. The axe is the often used strategy. What I do is kill the red skeleton, go under the elevator and jump at the right moment so I land on it when it's back down halfway and I jump again (it's fairly precise). SOTN has so many moments of alternative navigation like those.
I have played this game multiple times... I just realized the whole point of the room in the beginning: it's a recreation of the Castlevania 1 rooms, complete with breakable wall and pot roast, with the area under it full of mermen. Like I watched a Castlevania 1 playthrough and then this and it was like, "Oh, yeah, that's right." lol

Yeah, there's a whole upside down version of the castle where you fight Dracula. You have to get a special item and equip it when fighting Richter, defeat the thing controlling him and you open up the upside down castle.
I cosplayed Alucard from SotN some years back. I even have a legitimate rapier, and my background is in competitive saber fencing. 💪😎🤟 I still have the costume (which I essentially assembled myself), and it looked fantastic, but I'm waaayyy too old for that ish anymore. Have a bunch of images from it on my channel as a video though. Great game, incredible graphics, wonderful music. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨
This was the first game that I found out on my own had more than 1 ending. Was also my first 100%. Soooooo many good memories with this game. Thanks for playing it! Loved it!

I never deleted my first save file and if I found anything new on subsequent replays I'd go back to the first file and clear it. I still question why I vested so much time into this game but it really is my favorite game of all time.

Makes his inhuman speed more real. Like watching a dude in decent shape run 800m and compare it to olympic athletes. You know they are fast , but just how fast? You need comparasion.

lol, the game never gets difficult. it's incredibly easy. the only remotely difficult thing is the optional boss Galamoth, but there are even ways to make that fight easy as well.
Ryu, After you finished this game, go to the room above where you fought the boss called The Creature in the inverted castle. You'll see 3 yellow giant skeletons called Paranthropus. This enemy has 2 drop items, A Gauntlet and Ring of Varda. Keep on defeating these 3 enemy skeletons until you have 2 Rings of Varda. These 2 Rings with drastically improve Alucard's STR, CON, INT, and LCK. To make it easier for you, go to the inverted library and keep on defeating the enemy called Schmoo so it will drop the sword called the Crissaegrim. Have a great day Ryu!! This symphony of the night is actually a redone version ,the original was on Sega cd but most content , levels we're damaged so they remade it for ps2 they couldn't add the content to this version cause it was lost , something like that lol
A friend recommented me bloodstained. I just realized that its the same creator for this game. Bloodstained was a lot of fun. But too easy because you get overlevelled way too quickly and dont die anymore at all And you can´t go hard mode from the beginning.
Nooo don't kill richter yet. You have to equip the holy sunglasses and kill the green orb above his head and you will gain access to the inverted castle.

I bought all 3 versions of wonder labyrinth bcuz i LOVE castlevania sotn (my goat game) Deedlit moves exactly like alucard! The whole anime community is talking about this game! The game is based on a legendary anime from kadokawa shoten! Its only 24 episodes! If berserk is considered the game of thrones of anime, record of lodoss is considered the lord of the rings of anime! The anime is amazng! I highly recommend watching before playing Wonder Labyrinth, on ur console of choice, to flesh out the universe & characters! Wonder Labyrinth is the TRUE spiritual successor to castlevania sotn! Not that bloodstained ritual of the night game by iga-san (og producer on sotn)….lol

You don't have to loose your spells if you have enough strength ,level up let a Fenrir hit you and it will fly you past the door to death and skips him leaving you with your powers , just be sure not to enter deaths chambers again he'll still be there

I still have the same dream….only this time i want a remake of sotn AND i want symphony of the night 2….only this time i want it in guilty gear strive graphics (ps5)! You need to equip two rings to fight the last bosses and glasses to get different endings ,beat shafts orb instead of him its a different ending forgot hoe to get the rest crappy ending beat shaft not his orb inverted castle another ending if anyone remembers let me know about all the secrets I've forgotten
Hold up? I played it for the first time like a year ago. I've finished it like 5 times already since then. The 200.6%. Safe to say it instantly became one of my all time favorites. I'm actually grateful that i haven't played it when it came out. Everything else after would've dwarfed in comparison. Music alone is like best game soundtrack of all time. Only NIER Automata comes close
Interesting thought: IGA made a new game in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night that is in the same vein (pun half intended) as Symphony of the Night. It also comes with a built in randomizer.

I actually didn't get around to beating this game until a couple years ago. I had started it once a long time ago but didn't stick with it for some reason. Anyway, even playing it basically for the first time so many years later, with no nostalgia factor, I still thought it held up great. That said, I hate how every 2D Castlevania game since then has basically been a clone of it. Do we really need 20 Castlevania games just like this one? I wish we could get some new linear 2D Castlevania games like I-IV.
I agree, would be cool to see more linear castlevania games, especially with new mechanics to shake things up. Check out Seal of the Eclipse, (a castlevania fan game) which follows a similar formula to Castlevania III

And we need more Castlevania 3d like the two from n64: the same backgrounds music and atmosphere, better graphics and sound effects, creepier and harder, badder bosses more levels puzzles and side quests, lastly, better more relevant and popular playable/companion characters with a good story and fun items. A game that can be playable/replayable after beaten like Ocarina was.
it's good, but i hate the 2,5D crap, the game just dosn't feel as good to play as 'proper' 2D sprites do otherwise it would propably be my 3rd favourite metroidvania after SOTN and Super metroid
I'm a little late and don't know if this has been said yet or not. but if you didn't know you can cast most of the spells from the beginning of the game. you just need enough MP to cast them and know the spell. you can find scrolls throughout the game that tell you how to cast them but they are not required. if you know the button combination ahead of time you can use them with enough MP.
SotN is one of my favorite games ever made. An absolute classic. You should play Aria of Sorrow when you have the chance, it's a masterpiece of a game and IMO the best game on the GBA.

The voice actor for Richter also played Chris Redfield in the original Resident Evil. He sadly passed away in 2000 (killed in a car accident).

i really liked touhou luna night from the same creator, a little bit more plattform than metroidvania compared to the deedlit game.

What about a no save run? Use all your items, use your best weapons but no healing through saving allowed
Using "all" the items is CLEARLY the hardest part of your whole deal. 🤔

I'm a little late and don't know if this has been said yet or not. but if you didn't know you can cast most of the spells from the beginning of the game. you just need enough MP to cast them and know the spell. you can find scrolls throughout the game that tell you how to cast them but they are not required. if you know the button combination ahead of time you can use them with enough MP.
