Yeah it truly is but when you work as hard as we do on our gardens and ponds etc. We would hate for all that work to go to waste when we go get a chance to go away. I hope you're doing well my friend. It's always good to hear from you. Take care
It's nice to have friends that are experienced with fish to help take care of your fish for you while you're gone, it looks like you covered everything, your fish will be fine so no need to worry, hope you enjoyed your vacation Chris.
We had an excellent time away Greg. I wish I could have stopped in to see you when I was in New Jersey but we did get to the Jersey Shore hahaha. 2 weeks away from home was a long time away. Fish were good as were the pawns. It's nice to have good friends
@@stubbsaquatics6080 Maybe next time Chris, glad you enjoyed your vacation and all your fish and pawns are doing well, it is great to have good friends.
I've never been on a holiday, but when I'm away at work for more than a few days, I bag up individual feedings for each tank. That way a non fish person won't overfeed. Have a good trip mate.
Wow, you've thought of everything!! I don't blame you for having someone else feed your fish. I don't trust those automated feeders either. They're going to be fine in Jim's care. You two have a safe and happy vacation!!! ❤❤
Some really good points there. Particularly liked the one about a robust maintenance and water change session before going away. Hope you and Sandra have a magnificent time. Take care and have fun.
Awesome video Chris. We are actually in the process of preparing for our vacation now we and a half before we leave getting everything ready and cleaned up. We have found for us that making a video for our neighbor is very helpful. We send it to his phone and he can come over and watch the video which basically is us walking through and feeding all of our tanks he watches the video and follows right along with it and can pause it or rewind it at any point, it works out very well
Great tips Chris! Preparation is definitely a must, a bit of piece of mind , makes for a enjoyable vacation! Thanks for the information, and i hope you and Sandra are having a fantastic time 🙂❤️🙏
I'm on vacation right now and think every day how it's at home with pets and plants... It's gold to have someone who can deal with all of that. My fish will be feed every second day a little bit. I have learned that less food it's less risk to have a bad water quality and the fish gets model body 😂 I understand very well everything you said. Enjoy your vacation and all the best.
Great points and glad you're able to go take a vacation. My problem is I don't have anyone with a passion for fish that are nearby that I would trust to take care of my fish, thus vacation isn't an option for me in reality
I wish I could have stayed longer like 12 days in the States than two more days in eastern Ontario was about our limit. I haven't been away in a long time and it felt good. I wish it was longer but the fish were all all good
I never let anyone feed my fish when I am away. Better nothing than too much. My new toys is cctv. I can see everything happening in my pond, filterhouse and garden on my phone when I am away. Really handy.
I need to get one of those magnets. That's probably one of my next things I do but I have to get a better phone first I normally wouldn't let anyone else feed my fish but I trust a couple people cuz I know they're not going to overfeed
Yes! I have anxiety about leaving my fish. However, they have always been fine. I do have some fry that will probably not fare well on my weekend away. Anyway - All the Best to You!! Hope you have a Fabulous Time. Safe travels to you
First enjoy your vacation you deserve it! Second you said you are going to New Jersey? Are you going to the Jersey shore? Depends where you are in New Jersey you would only be 21/2 to 31/2 hours from me. Be safe & have fun. Sounds like you have some good friends. Jim seems like a nice guy also!
Hey Donald, we spent a couple days in Denville, New Jersey and one of the days when I didn't go to a koi pond we ended up going to Jersey shores. Believe it or not it was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks buddy, I appreciate it. We had a great time
Bought a Tapo camera for my pond when i went away for a week to Spain. Checked it daily from an app on my phone n arranged with my sister that she would be on call to visit the pond if I phoned her - also had a pond company on call should there be an issue I couldn't support my sister to fix over the phone. I'd recommend a Tapo camera for only £50 to all of u.
Well you're definitely prepared. I need to get one of those cameras. I'm lucky that I have two friends that are in the hobby and pretty much know what they're doing but they could have contacted me if there was a problem. I actually did have to help one of them with the problem they were having but that's okay
@@stubbsaquatics6080 all my family apart from my sister were on hol with me n my friends are non fish folk. Yeah wud defo recommend the tapo cameras n easy to set up - peace of mind when on hol

Ty Tara. Off on vacation today... Yippee
Leaving your fish is a big deal and I'm glad you had a knowledgeable person to watch over them
Well being that you were busy, I couldn't leave them with you
It’s crazy how much prep work we have to do before going on vacation. I’m glad you have a friend nearby who’s ready and willing to lend a hand. 💚

What. Never?? I don't go much but have to.. you drive for a living so you travel and get out of Dodge
Mate, cracking video. Going away on holiday and leaving the fish behind can really be a big source of stress.

It certainly is!
Always a pleasure to help you out, and thanks for the beer!
You are welcome!! Thanks again
i agree with you. Ever since i learned that fish will be fine, we have started getaway more often without worries.
Thanks Jorge. I am a worrier so the more back up plans the better for me especially with the ponds... Just got home and the power had been off.. lol
