We continue our search nearer to the coast to see if we would like a property where we can reach a beach in under 30 minutes which brought us to Rio Maior where we see the best property we've seen so far. We really like the house, it honestly impressed us so much but the land was a little bit of a let down, ideally we'd like our land to be fenced already and it was a bit steep. We are learning what we like and what's important to us when looking for our new home, thanks for joining us on our journey :D we hope you're enjoying our videos.

Thats a lot of bedrooms. Great if you plan to run a bed and breakfast. I think solar panels needed to power all the aircon and underfloor heating though, Looking forward to the next one.

We’ve viewed some very nice houses here in Portugal so much better than the UK 😃👍 but yes you’re right they will need a lot of work to maintain 👩🌾 👨🌾

Indeed! Lowquat....... this is the english term and they are fantastic both fresh as as jam. Beautiful property and quite ideal for getting bike crews together. Great set up for entertaining and hosting. Did I hear Jonny talking about an area for dirt bike riding? I’d gether there would be no issue with noise? Those are crickets or cecedas bythe way..... The Eucalyptu stand might be a good area to plant starts for other types of trees while thinning the Euc’s over time. Seems to be anumber of possibilities in how one lives here..... thanks or exploring .
Yes we love loquats or nespera they are named in Portugal, we’ll have to try making some jam with them as I’m sure we will have a loquat tree on our new property. Yes indeed a great set up for hosting but the only downside was the land wasn’t fenced and it was a bit steep we have seen properties that tick these boxes but not for the house so we are continuing our search 🔍 😎 the house for sure is the best we’ve seen so far though. Yes we have a pit bike at the moment and looking for some exhaust whadding so we don’t disturb our new neighbours too much but we are also looking for a fairly quiet property with no super nearby neighbours for a bit if privacy 😃 we are getting close to finding our perfect place we know it 🥰

What a surprise when you walk thru the door! Real Estate in Portugal can be crazy. You need to do your research. Solo 50plus Portugal did a wonderful interview about a year ago (Solo female renovates then sells.....) with a Canadian woman who ran a B&B near Braga. Sadly -- Trisha was killed in an auto accident soon after so you cannot pick her brain. Her property might still be for sale -- it might not be what you are looking for or even in your price range -- but can give you some insight in how things work.

Please please be extremely careful when making a purchase make sure you are truly dealing with honest people and do not put a down deposit until you get the exact plot of all the land and not from the realtor they are notorious for including land that isn’t part of the property, unfortunately all over the 26:14 world you will find dishonest and people and Portugal is no different. You should reach out to Destino Portugal I’ve been following them for a while and they can tell you so horror stories. Best of luck to the both of you. From Florida 😊

What about if you look for a place in figueira da foz. You will be next to the sea and for this amount of money I’m sure you will find a better house
We are ideally looking for a farm and nothing came up in Figueira da Foz so far but we do hang out there and found it a pleasant area 😃👍

@@jonnyandsamofficial Hi guys, In Rio Maior itself there's not much, at least for me, born and raised there hehe, I guess there's some stuff to see, like "Salinas de Rio Maior" or Roman, and others, archeological sites, good for the ne day visit, but the real deal about Rio maior it's the location, in 40 minutes drive you can reach Lisbon, all the beaches almost from Figueira da foz up north til Ericeira southwards, and if you go towards the interior you can almost reach Coimbra, you can reach more then half way to Spain and also deep to Alentejo's heart, not to talk about the fact that we are on the south side of the mountain range "Montejunto/Estrela" which keep us away from the crappy weather on the North side with a lot more sunny days and much better temperatures.

Whats the problem with eucalyptus?
We’ve heard that eucalyptus trees can be bad for forest fires in Portugal so have been told to avoid them if possible 👍

beggers belief when they have someone trying to sell a property who can't speak half a dozen words of english.
