      Don't forget for those of us travelling from out of state and using the airport:
      *Will it get us into trouble during security checks?*
      And also
      *Will it fit with our remaining luggage?*
      Doesn't help that some airlines charge extra for more luggage.

    Our daughter is now 13 and no longer into balloons but when she was younger on our check out day we made it a tradition to find another child to share the balloon love with. We are going in November and my daughter asked if we are going to get a balloon to give to a child. It began a fun family tradition. Im sure other families do the same but wanted to share.

    I’m not sure why but it is almost impossible to find ANY nostalgic Disney merchandise. If you are looking for Bambi or other much loved characters, you are out of luck. One would think there would be a corner somewhere for the characters that put them on the map. They are losing out, I think anyway, because my card stayed in the backpack rather than spend it on another obscure droid loungefly.

    • @TiredSnowBerry
      @TiredSnowBerry 18 дней назад +6

      I noticed that too on my March trip. I looked EVERYWHERE for Tangled and Hercules merch, barely found anything besides hand sanitizer holders and some dolls. I also couldn't find anything with Kylo Ren on it, even in the Star Wars shop! It seems Disney mostly sells merch for their most popular or trending franchises, because most of what I saw was Frozen and Wish. So unfortunate!

    On our first trip my daughter was 4, I found some Disney dolls on Marketplace and at garage sales and picked them up/packed them in secret! Then I’d have my husband take her out of the room for our park day while I went last and snuck the dolls out onto the bed! When we got back I told her Fairy Godmother (who coincidentally we met that day!) must have sent them over! One doll was Fairy Godmother and one was Prince Charming so it was super cute!!

And from my first visit as a kid in 1972 I’ve collected an obscene amount of Disney Pins. Don’t know why, but they fascinate me to this day reflecting my many visits from childhood, to teen yrs, school trips, marriage, going with my own kids… it’s a Nostalgic thing indeed. I wish you would research stuff that we can do and still enjoy the parks as before. I know I'm limited to the type of rides I can go on but, since I'm a fuddy duddy anyway, I'm going to enjoy the ones I remember. Also..a list of eating establishments that are conducive to disabled people would be nice. Oh, just to mention this..I'll be 70 yrs old soon and traveling alone..my hubby passed in February this year and we were supposed to go in April but never made it. What Breea said about pin trading is essentially how I felt when they started this 25 years ago. The parks and the stores always sold pins, and now we were encourage to trade them? On the plus side, the pins were much better than the hidden Mickey ones of today. No scrapper issues there. But I remember being gifted a millennium pin to trade, and felt that it was cooler than whatever a cast member may have. Plus, your time is limited. How much time am I wasting looking at pins instead of something else? By the time I finally got into the trading aspect, the cast member boards were exactly what was mentioned. Though I did get several positive interactions with other guests wanting to trade. Their pins could have been fake too, but at least they were nicer.

      Tbh, there are also places - like where I live - where the water tastes literally metallic. Like you could be licking it off a car.
      I don't know if I'd actually use a refill station unless it clearly states it's filtered. My workplace has a refill station and it's filtered, so no metallic taste - and it was actually SUPER cold, so add another check mark to my "didn't see that coming" list. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's gonna be good in taste or temperature (like do you want to refill with WARM water? Ew); Though maybe that's why it's free...

And since there was so much that had changed within those 20+ years, I knew there were some things that I wanted to spend on ahead of time. One of those was the Mickey's Kitchen Sink sundae and the other was a light up Baymax balloon. As ridiculous as it was to spend money on them, it was worth it to me. I deflated my Baymax balloon and brought it home with me, and the Mickey's Kitchen Sink is now a trinket tray for my brother.

I’m only doing one day at Disney and was hoping to experience some things I haven’t ever been able to do. But alas, I couldn’t afford a Disney resort stay so by the time I was eligible to guy some lightning lanes, not much was left that works with my schedule. Really disappointing! I was only able to nab a Cosmic Rewind LL, but couldn’t get anything for Galaxy’s Edge which I’ve never gotten to see before. So, looks like I’ll be waiting in long lines which means I won’t get to see a whole lot.

    I have a lot of popcorn buckets from various movies from my local theater (and yes, a few Disney ones too from my visit) and I always have little bits and bobs stored inside. Every time I need storage for small things and have a little space avaliable, I'll allow myself to buy a new one.
    I also try to be really intentional in which one I'm buying and I take full advantage of the refils to make it worth a little more

    I bring my own water in a travel bottle and refill at the refresher stations for years. I also make sandwiches and bring snacks in my backpack so I rarely buy drinks or food. So we eat our sandwiches during lunch. Though I do splurge for dinner without drinks.

    pro tip on the water- buy a camelback before you go. if you dont know its basically a super slim back pack with a reservoir inside attached to a drinking straw that comes out of the bag and runs down the strap. . some of them can hold up to 3 litters of water and the bags are super comfy. also it can cool your back as well

    I brought a reusable water bottle and went to the hydration stations. The most expensive thing i bought was a droid from the Droid Depot in Galaxy's Edge.

  • @susangerritsen2310
    @susangerritsen2310 Месяц назад +2

    My tip to avoid paying for water is to get a cheap reusable water bottle with a wide opening at walmart or target or wherever, and then instead of filling it with water, fill it as much as you can with ice. Quick service restaurants in the resort hotels have ice machines that you can use for free and QS restaurants in the parks will give you a cup of ice. Once you've filled it up as far as it will go, then you can fill it with water, and the florida heat will most likely melt the ice quickly, but you can just keep filling it with ice as you need it and have cold water all day. Florida water doesn't taste the best, so we get the little squeazy flavorings and put a few drops in as needed. We stayed nice and hydrated on our last trip and it cost us 10 bucks for a disney-themed water bottle at walmart and then about 5 bucks for a few bottles of the flavor drops. $15 bucks for 2 weeks in Disney. And we could have gotten a cheaper water bottle anywhere before going to save money if we had wanted to.

    Pin trading. Look for cast members. I find they have good pins to trade especially ones with mystery pins. Here are the order I have found for best pins. Hollywood studios, AK, MK, then epcot. Don’t forget the resorts too.

In fact, I am gluten intolerant, and your food guide made me discover how I could get safe gluten free food at WDW. So, I tried the cheese pizza at Pinocchio's. Cast members were as cool and safe as the pizza was good. Since my home park is Paris, I'll try this when I'll go back.

    On my visits, I usually start by making a trip to Winnie Dixie to buy the things that I will need for my room for breakfast and lunch as well as dinner and health care products. It is so much cheaper than buying it from the resort store. I tried doing the Amazon delivery to the front desk and it was not great for me. The only thing I seem to buy on my visits is plushes/ stuffed animals. I have tried to hold off until I get back home and find the item on Shop DIsney and sometimes the product is not available there ( Example Chip and Dale 100th Anniversary plush. Saw them in the Magic Kingdom. Told myself that I could get it on line and I could not) . Great vlog as always.

    Bottle of coke at Tokyo Disney is about $1.40. I don’t think you can get that anywhere in the US for that and have it be chilled. Domestic Disneys all like $5, “we can charge whatever we want and people will pay.” Also Domestic Disney: “our resort hotels have started charging delivery fees because too many people are buying coke elsewhere and having it delivered. Since transportation cost money anyway, just have a Target Drive up ready when you land, and have your driver stop there first.

    I am more of a practical sort…. And i have been going to disney since i was a child… never asked for the ears, they hurt my head i find them uncomfortable, no to the balloon (have no idea why), dont like popcorn so no to the buckets, never thought about the pins not really interested….. but I do love a tshirt, maybe something for the house (wine bottle toppers with mickey ears last trip), and art, love new art. Things I learned, always take a refill bottle, take fruits for snacks, and if you want to eat something that catches your eye, just do it, you’re on vacation! And have xtra socks in your backpack, you never now when it will rain.😅
