Lovely Journey you Filmed from the Good Years Danny!😃.
Thanks Alan 👍
Excellent footage Danny. Hard to believe it's from almost 25 years ago !
Thanks Rob, when you look at the network now it seems like a lifetime ago.
This is fabulous footage. Changed days.
Great to see some onboard footage!

Thanks Joe
Lovely footage Danno back when it was REAL Railways
Thanks Ste, you're not wrong, different times.
Super film!

Who else miss going on a train for adventures right now?:(
That's exactly it Tom, back then a journey by train was an adventure, now it's something you do on sufference...
@@TheIrishMainline I'm looking forward to doing it again when it's safer to do so.
@@tomfitzpatrick7335 Absolutely, I wouldn't touch public transport of any form at present.
Proper job. Proper stock.
Those bench seats seemed comfortable at the time. Nowadays i prefer individuals seats. Times change.
They were comfortable, far more than the concrete ICR or Mk4 efforts nowadays. Nothing beat the Mk3 seating though.
Something never to be seen again, a 201 with a mk2
There's still the RPSI's Mk2 set up north but they're rarely seen used with 201s.
@@TheIrishMainline would be nice to see it again, and hopefully the enterprise has another good few years left too
@@robertbarrett3749 I think it'll happen at some stage, especially if they venture down here on a railtour which occurs every so often. The DeDietrich sets should be with us for a good while longer after their recent overhaul. Probably the most comfortable train (next to France's TGV) that I've travelled on.
Sounds like some lengths of 40 ft rail there
The whole route was a mish mash of track lengths back then. The longer lengths tended to suffer more from the 'roaring rail' sound.
I was born that year
I'd only turned 17! 41 now :'(
Great footage. Much better trains back then and nicer scenery. Also, much nicer sounds with them proper GM loco's and proper rails, not like the miserable DEMU's and welded track today. I will always miss the orange livery trains forever more. Nothing beats it.
Glad you enjoyed it, seems a lifetime ago now when travelling by train got you excited. Can't say that nowadays :/
