The Jardin Exotique de Monaco (French for "exotic garden of Monaco") is a botanical garden located on a cliffside in Monaco.
The succulent plants were brought back from Mexico in the late 1860s. Albert I, Prince of Monaco acquired a piece of land in Les Moneghetti in 1912. He commissioned Louis Notari, the Chief Engineer of Monaco, to build a new garden with footbridges. During the construction, Notari found a grotto underneath in 1916. Meanwhile, the garden was finished in 1933. Monegasque agronomist Louis Vatrican served as its first director from 1933 to 1969.
The cave was opened to the public in 1950, but it may only be visited with specialized guides. Evidence of prehistoric human inhabitants has been found in the cave. There is a museum of Prehistoric Anthropology within the Exotic Garden displaying many of those prehistoric remains. It was founded by Prince Albert I in 1902.

What an amazing adventure! Maybe not good for claustrabobes as the cave gets pretty tight. Best of the best for a treadmill workout, put your machine on the lowest setting going down and the highest setting going up - whew! And then you’re rewarded with incredible views. 10 out of 10 for sure!

We missed Jardin Exotique Garden on our tour in Monaco but will definitely go on our next trip.
Spectacular views! Would be much better remove intrusive sound and just put beautiful relaxing music on this video
it is generic music the one you put when they want to sell a house
An example of how you can't fully please everybody 😄 because I really don't like walking/tours with music (unless it's the car radio, as long as that's not intrusive).
I would even rather hear the intrusive sound that's sometimes in this video, if it means I get to hear the other sounds in the environment like people, birds, sea, etc., just because I like to feel like I'm actually there, + know what the vibe is like before I might go there for real.

I recognise through these distant portrayals,
the shapes and light (not sounds) of a painting.
It is the first painting bought by William Morris,
It hangs in the Tate in London.
Only... in the painting it is the opposite reflection.

We were there a couple of weeks before you took this video and had a 1 hour 'private' tour of these amazing caves because no one in the gardens knew about them. Actually, none of the tourists we talked to were aware - surprised there isn't more promotion. Cherished memories.

Un jardin de cactus en grand nombre sur peu de place, tout près de la ville la plus bétonnée au monde. Ville très bruyante où il y a constamment des travaux qui s’entendent depuis le jardin. Nul.👎
