      If it’s hooked up to the spray gun then all you have to do is pull the trigger . Foam cannon does all the work. You just got to aim and cover the car. Only other thing you would Need is to make sure soap dilution is good and the spray turn knob at the top is full foam.

    I don't understand why no one is able to figure out how to get around the ramp-ups and still get perfectly accurate measurements without guesswork. Seems pretty obvious to me. Let T = length of time for ramp-up. Shoot water into bucket for T amount of time (3 secs in this case). Stop, record that weight, call it W1. Then empty bucket, and run test again for T PLUS 1min (1:03 in this case). Record that weight, call it W2. Now W = W2 - W1. Finally W / 8.3454 gives you gallons per minute, with ramp-up time completely removed from the equation. No guess work or guesstimating. You are still looking at 1min of run-time (1:03 - 0:03 = 1:00), except you have shifted the window you are looking at, with it now starting when the device is fully ramped up, instead of when the trigger is pulled.
    Honestly, I think these review channels should just do this with all pressure washers they test, since all of them differ in time to reach full power. Why not just do what I outlined above, but make T = 10 seconds and test EVERY pressure washer this way. No pressure washer takes longer than 10 seconds to ramp up, and this way, you are getting the best, most accurate comparison and data possible.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Месяц назад

      You make a valid point I myself have not changed much I weight the water now, but the ramp up itself is not going to make that big a difference in the end result. I just now if it has a 2 second ramp up I just stop a second late since even durign ramp up it is moving some water. if its 1.51 gpm or 1.53 gpm thats not enough to make a difference. Plus you can get a different result every time you measure. Water temp, water usage in the house, voltage , etc. can all change constantly.

    • @andrecoetze33
      @andrecoetze33 Месяц назад +1

      @@CarsWithKeav You're right, it has a marginal impact on the results, but as you always say: You're a "numbers guy", so I figured if anyone was gonna appreciate my suggestion, it would be you. Although, for something like the Greenworks Pro 2300 PSI 2.3 GPM, the ramp up on that is insanely long. I think specifically for a pressure washer like that, running a GPM test with, and without accounting for the ramp up time would have a pretty substantial impact and the results. When I watch Obsessed Garage review that pressure washer, they tried to get around the ramp up time by having someone hold the bucket, while Matt ramped up the machine and then, while running, try to get the pressure washer nozzle into the hole in the lid.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Месяц назад

      @@andrecoetze33 For sure I’ll try that if it’s a really long ramp up. Since I normally deal with machines that have auto start stop most have a quick ramp up. I watched those videos with Matt was entertaining watching them do that. I don’t have a helper to hold the bucket to even attempt and not sure I would want to. 🤣 I really appreciate the recommendation I for sure don’t know all the best ways, but comments like this help a lot to get things dialed in.
