I grew up in Pensacola from 1961 to 1977 and off and on tell 1987 wish I was live there now but life put me in Missouri thank you for your videos of photos and commentary it takes me home thank you
Did a 1 thru 4 watchathon. Great work. Pensacola did a great job restoring itself mostly true to what it was. Finding more reasons every day to make it my home soon. Thanks Oh, now 5 and 6.
I love your videos. I lived in Pensacola from 1951 to 1955. We lived in Gulf Breeze and I rode the school bus across the 3 mile bridge (the old one) each day to school. There were very few homes on Gulf Breeze at that time so I had a paradise to roam and explore. One of our favorite eating places was the 'Old Firehouse' drive inn. Please post more. thanks.
Awesome videos! Thank you so much for making them. I grew up in Fort Walton but would come to Pensacola often and have always had a love for it. I moved away from the area in 2007 but I miss it so much. I have watched all 4 parts with my 8 year old daughter who wants to become a archaeologist after the many stories I have shared with her about Pensacola. I plan on moving back to the area as soon as I can and your videos help cure the homesickness until I get back. I hope you make more! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for making the series. I know a lot of hard work went into it. I love the music you added to all the videos. The pictures along with the music gave me goosebumps because Pensacola has been my home town now for 27 years. Great job!!
I have some cool photos of my great grandfather's shop from 1949 downtown Pensacola and also our shops form 50s and 60s off nine mile rd.and current shop
I think I have pictures and updates in all the other parts. I could probably make one whole video on that because there are a lot of pictures. I even found some inside that would be awesome to recreate.
Yeah, this was the original one. It's pretty much abandoned now with some businesses connected to the old building. They built the new one on 9th a good while later.
I've had it for a little while now and typically only use it for crane style shots or establishing shots. I thought it'd be cool to do a whole historical video with a drone though.
nice series! i'm a pensacola ex-pat, so seeing some history i wasn't aware of (like the lynchings) was quite interesting. you focused mostly on downtown and the east side of town, how about some history on the brownsville area of cervantes? before the malls came along in the early 70's, brownsville (stretching down to where martine's was) was the area of town to shop and eat, and it had a pretty rich history before that area of town got run down. also, maybe some pictures of pcola beach before hurricane ivan, in the 70's/80's when the bungalows were still around? maybe pics of cordova and university malls from the 70's and 80's, before cordova mall expanded? maybe more santa rosa island/ft pickens pictures? how about some west side history, like the chicken box, and mariner mall, formerly known as fairfield mall? i grew up on the west side, and places like that were where my friends and i would hang out before we got drivers licenses.
Dude ...literally my stompin" grounds coming up in the "70s ! Went to Woodham High...home of the Fighten" Titans! My parents went to Martines at least once a week for...ever? Wonder if it still exists? Crap...now I want to come home!
Why not do a video on how important the deep sea going tug&barge business has been to Pensacola. Start with IRTC/GMI=INLAND RIVER TRANSPORTATION CORP, GENERAL MARINE INC. Owned by Robert, Bob Lashay. Capt Lowell Brenter was one of his famous captains and his wife Bobby Brenter played the sheriffs secretary in Jaws 2 when they filmed it down at Navarre. Also research Brown Marine Service. IRTC I was a Capt on the Ocean Star, Ocean Wave. The biggest problem with deep-sea going Tug&Barge business and all other high-paying blue-collar industry in Pensacola Is that it is not a clean industry. And the powers that be that run Pensacola have done all they can for the last 50 years to drive out business like this. Take the shipyard the port they have done all they can to kill it!!! Back when I was 18 years old Pensacola was a much more industrial town had so many more high-paying blue-collar jobs. We could’ve been the biggest port between Tampa in New Orleans. Because we are the closest naturally protected deep water port from Tampa to New Orleans. Shipping companies like to be located in ports that they can get to the sea buoy as quickly as possible. Our port is that. Mobile blew right past us and it was never supposed to be that way our port has so much more to offer but certain powerful families wanted our downtown to be such a yacht club type environment. Tourist industry, which is the lowest paying industry in the world it sucks for jobs.

I moved a few years ago to Texas, so, watching your videos kinda brings some nostalgia back :) keep it up man!!
Glad I could help with the nostalgia, haha.
Ditto!
Another awesome job Mr. Hardman!
Love the drone footage. Maybe do Perdido Key or west Pensacola...if there's any old photos. That would be great.

Would love to find out more about the old sacred heart
I think I have pictures and updates in all the other parts. I could probably make one whole video on that because there are a lot of pictures. I even found some inside that would be awesome to recreate.
Cool, I used to deliver linen to the, I guess new sacred heart and just find Pensacola history really neat, hopefully I can learn more about Molino Fl

So you got a drone.
