Hi @brentmartin3085, we're glad that we could help you and your team! Thanks you for your kind words 💙💚💛 this helps us to know we're on the right track with our content and motivates us to produce more of it! Cheers!
Hi @peterwand3455, you can do this by adding the "create from template" macro to the page. We have a video about templates and how to use them best as well: ruclips.net/video/IkRmyUCnRDo/видео.htmlsi=gVfxnmEoa0nSHBFg&t=533 I've marked the point in the video where it's explained how to insert this. Hope this helps. Cheers, Steffen
As a Product owner / scrum master .. what templates from confluence do we use on regular basis , there a loads of them in it .. can you please suggest the main one we PO need to be familiar with ?
Oh wow, there are so many useful ones, depending on the type of product you're creating. We'd recommend checking out: -Live meeting notes/Meeting notes -Product roadmap -5 why’s analysis -Capacity planning -Change management -Dependency mapping -Design decision -Disruptive brainstorming -My user manual -Out of office plan -Problem framing -Retrospective -Sprint planning meeting
Hey @sucmitra, we're hosting a livestream around Confluence Databases on July 16th. There we introduce Databases in more depth. ruclips.net/user/live4E3eCCZ860c If you have any questions regarding Databases we're happy to read them in the chat once we're live! Let me know if that would help you! Cheers, Steffen
Sure thing! We'd recommend using User Profile macros to add all the team members to the page. Maybe even add some fun facts about each person. Then use the comments section at the bottom of the page to add those kudos. Don't forget to mention the team member you're giving kudos to! support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-user-profile-macro/
Loved the information in here. Some of these practices I want to use to clean up my current project management process. Is there any way to grab some of these templates from either here or your website for myself to copy into my space and manipulate to fit our needs? Again, one of the better contents I have seen on the utilization of confluence!
can we create a project. plan/task management in confluence itself as you talked about adding trello/jira boards in confluence but is there a way to create project plan in confluence ?
Well, this isn't really Confluence's strong suit. You can certainly create simple tasks in Confluence, but they're not nearly as flexible as issues in Jira or Cards in Trello. You also can't really create a proper project plan like you might with a Trello board or Jira board. So check out tasks, but we'd suggest using Jira or Trello, since they're purpose built for this type of thing.
This video is really helpful, it will be really grateful, if you make video on that. Like importing source from XD, Zeplin, Figma etc... in Confluence "iFrame" to present the customer.
Hi, what do you mean by that, can you explain this further and why you want to have this? How I image it is to have an overview of all comments made in one place - is this assumption correct? Cheers, Steffen
Hello there. I really enjoyed the video, but it's too much information compacted in 11m (which you managed brilliantly). My question is: is there a way to notify the team by gmail? And the stakeholders too (considering they do not have access to confluence)? Ok, two questions... The second one is: when we are distributing the tasks to the team, can they automatically be updated on google calendar? Many thanks!
Hey, thanks for your comment and your feedback - it is a lot of information, would you prefer two videos for that or single videos for each "chapter"? On your first question: Yes this is possible. If your users are registered via gmail in your Confluence system, all they need to do is watching the page. Then they get notifications every time the pages is updated. If the gmail addresses aren't in Confluence - you can build a straight forward automation in Confluence (if you have an enterprise plan) which listens to page updates for that page and sends an email to the given email addresses. Your second question: We're not aware of in integration like that. What information would you push to google calendar for you team? If Google allows a web request to update tasks then this would also be possible with Confluence automations - there you can trigger a web request which could be Google Calendar. Hope this helps! Cheers, Steffen
@@_k15t Thanks for your quick reply, Steffen! It was really helpful, yes. First, about your question: I think this video is amazing because it gives us a general view, which was exactly what I was looking for. So, perfect. In the meantime, I visited your website and I didn't spot any specific videos for project managers. Like, videos with more detailed information about what was summarised in this one (maybe I just didn't look hard enough). Well, at this point, I'm just looking for information about possible platforms so the organisation I'm working for can make a decision. Confluence was pointed up to me and it seems really great. However, if we decide for Confluence, I will have to learn everything from scratch. Do you have more videos like this, especially for waterfall methodology? I really enjoyed the page with the description of the project! It's amazing! But... does it have GANTT diagrams, for example? Can you track the project like that? I know Confluence was made with Agile in mind (and I might be able to adapt), but my training is waterfall. About Google Calendar: my organisation is very small (we will probably go for the free plan, at least for starters) and the work is scheduled directly on Google Calendar. My idea was to use Confluence and Google Calendar (at least during a transition point). Plus, we have people working with us that need their work scheduled, but are not part of the managing team. I'm thinking: how can I schedule their work automatically via Confluence? Maybe the web request trigger could do the trick. Notifications to Gmail is important also because the way people are used to work until now. If they don't receive notifications, they will not probably go to the platform... Most people work part-time and have other things to do. Plus, I need to figure out an information distribution scheme (which you mentioned in the video and it's so very important) between the team members. Now, there is none. Again, thanks very much! Cheers, Ana Catarina
@@AnaCatarinaPalmaNeves Thanks for your reply. We do have a livestream about project management and how to collaborate best with the team. You can check it out here: www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/videos/confluence-use-cases/livestream-how-to-effectively-collaborate-on-projects Matt is taking a closer look here how this can be achieved and done in Confluence and we're planning to do more in depth videos like that. This video you saw here was more meant of an introduction to the whole topic, so stay tuned there is more to come :). We don't have specific videos for GANTT or the waterfall methodology and I know that Confluence doesn't offer this out of the box, but there is an app for it. Here is the marketplace of Confluence which make Confluence really powerful: I searched here for 'project management' already: marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=project%20management As you can see GANNT is already popping up here 🙂. You can find all of our videos on our hub: www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/videos or right here on RUclips. Our hub offers also articles and guides around Confluence. Google Calendar: Ah ok, with the free plan you need to be aware that Confluence is missing some features which includes Confluence Automations. So if you're testing this on the free plan you won't be able to test this specific integration. But what works well with Confluence is Atlassian Jira which you might want to check out as well. www.atlassian.com/jira You can manage all task by ease here and assign them to people and it's well integrated with Confluence. If Jira is too much for you (since its a well grown product) you can also take a look at Trello which is also well integrated with Confluence and you still can do simple task management. Notifications are sent via Confluence, Jira or Trello always to the email address they have signed up with. So in that case you won't need the automation I suggested since your co-workers would sign up with their gmail address. If you introduce Confluence to your company we have an article on how to activate your team really using it. We have one specific article about onboarding new team members which might not fit 100% in your case but maybe you can change it up for your needs: www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/misc/why-you-need-to-onboard-new-team-members-into-confluence-quickly Here is a link to more best practice articles when working with Confluence where you can find article on how to structure a confluence instance and more: www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs?cql=siteSearch%20~%20%22%22%20AND%20type%20in%20(%22page%22)%20AND%20space%20in%20(%22SCM%22)%20AND%20NOT%20label%20in%20(%22search-exclude%22)%20AND%20label%20in%20(%22featured%22) We're also happy to get feedback on those and feel free to mail rockthedocs@k15t.com or reach out to us in your preferred way if you want us to cover a topic which solves a problem for you!
