Tomoko Aran, nacida en 1958 en la prefectura de Aomori, es una destacada letrista, compositora y artista japonesa. Su primer acercamiento a la música se dio a los 8 años cuando quedó impresionada por el estilo de Cliff Richard, convirtiéndose en su mayor influencia. A partir de entonces, comenzó a tomar clases de inglés para comprender las letras de artistas como Elton John, T.Rex y The Beatles, mientras también desarrollaba su interés en la composición de canciones, desde la letra hasta la estructura musical.
A los 19 años, Tomoko conoció a un productor a través de una amiga, lo que le permitió debutar en la escena musical.
