AMA NATS 2016, 426 Quickie 500 Pylon Racing

Fly off for third place in 426 Quickie. Robert Vess, Marcus Blanchard and Roy Andrassy. I am calling for Roy. Roy takes one cut near the end of the race and finished the contest in fourth place

i got quickie 500 too, my experience is i need dual rate control, low rate while racing and high rate during takeoff and landing. Control sensitivity too much difference during high speed and low speed. do you guy have similar experience?

Yes. You got it exactly. Low rate for takeoff and racing. High rate only for landing. You shouldn't need high rate for take off. Just a bit of up and right rudder, right aileron on take off. CG set at 2-15/16" from leading edge

@@cx9drvr thank for you confirmation, i alway suspect is my setting problem, now i know this is the normal behaviour of this aircraft and noted on the takeoff no need for high rate. thank for your info.

Agreed. Never heard any of that when i was racing in the 90s. Poor reflection on the hobby and racers for sure.
