Retired Sgt. Betsy Brantner Smith, spokesperson for the National Police Association, tells NewsNation’s Marni Hughes she thinks this is an “excellent idea.”

I like how media can not talk about the elephant in the room, and that's the mass civil rights violation done by an agency who swore an oath to uphold said rights. That's why Americans don't want to become police officers because we are slowly learning our rights.
Maybe it's just you that's the slow one. Police have been defunded, prosecutors don't support and defend the laws of the land that officers are employed to uphold. All the shitbag criminals are out for lawsuits against the police force who claim they are a victim. Your mentality is part of the reason there is a shortage. Then you have cities like Oakland that have supported these policies for years and are now begging for more public safety. Knowing your rights and supporting public safety are two different things.
