- RUSSIA has released chilling new footage of its 7,000mph Zircon hypersonic nuke missile that could hit London in five minutes.
The Kremlin had previously branded the deadly weapon, which carries a conventional or nuclear warhead, “unstoppable”.
And now terrifying footage shows a Mach 9 Zircon - or Tsirkon - missile being fired, showing how the Russian President could launch a hypersonic nuclear strike on the West.
The clip showing the missile being fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate in the White Sea was revealed amid veiled threats Putin and his top officials to go nuclear if any country intervenes with his invasion of Ukraine.

this is not a “nuke”, it’s a cruise missile, possibly the fastest of it’s type which can do severe damage to an area but it’s absolutely nothing a nuke like the Topol can bring, Russia would only use these for tactical strikes on targeted areas.

Thats incredibly irresponsible reporting given the context of everything thats going on, you could give some poor person a heart attack, with headlines like that. I think it's a simulation or a test just to show what a missile like that would look like, but this network should have said that in the title and not be using it to fear-monger.

I like how people makes simple assumptions that any missiles are “nukes”… No one needs you to be expert on knowing the velocity and arc range of such missile but at least understand there are different types of missile that is not of nuclear payload.

It all depends on the carrier's capability it may or may not carry a nuclear warhead.
Just about any Missle can be loaded with a nuclear payload.
The target ship was obviously not struck by a missile traveling at Mach 9. It’s also likely it was struck by a different weapon system. Even with an inert warhead, the sheer inertia of a hit from a missile traveling at 7,000mph should have obliterated the bow beyond all recognition, not to mention the lack of plasma visible. This footage was obviously filmed and released via Russian state controlled media. This fact alone should make the rest of the world suspicious.

It's big enough for the tactical nuke warhead. Comes in both versions, as every other Russian cruise missiles. Nuclear is for aircraft carrier groups if need be, conventional for everything else.

My thoughts exactly. Why blur it out on the closeup, so we can't identify it and have to take their word for it. On the impact shot you can see the missile, were it really traveling at hypersonic speed you would not and the kinetic impact energy alone would have been much more spectacular. Just more propaganda as usual. putin is trying to flex and appear stronger than he actually is. The entire invasion is a dumpster fire and putin knows it.

It can reach a target at 1000 km far at a speed of Match 9 and can be mount with a nuclear head. The distance from Kaliningrad to London is 1,417.36 km but often Russian ships are closer than that to GB and France for instance when they are crossing the British Chanel.

The Russians have faster missiles anyway. Mach 9 is fast but hypersonic is something like Mach 20.
Hypersonic is classified as a speed anywhere between mach 5-10. Mach 10 to mach 25 is generally classified as high hypersonic.
an ICBM goes to about 15,000 MPH....Hypersonic missile to about 8,000 MPH and less range.

The trick is knowing which 5 minutes it will hit London in, then be somewhere else for half an hour. Also, London is a massive place. It hardly speaks volumes for its accuracy. It would be more impressive if it could hit something like the Kings Arms.

A hypersonic cruise missile, I assume being test fired in the black sea, I'm not sure a cruise missile type would have the necessary range to reach the UK, I may be wrong if anyone knows more about them.
Just checked this out, a range of 620miles, so they would have to get pretty close to the UK undetected.
In the old days journalists were taught to assume nothing and always check the facts.
It looks like a very generic missile. Maybe that is why they blurred it, so no one could recognize it.
