@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 yes, I bought one, the important part is the spindle size, make sure you can get one that's appropriate for your machine. Otherwise, on my machine, given the shape at the mounting point, there is a large gap all round, however, this doesn't affect anything. The only issue I've found is that the oil doesn't circulate unless you are around 1500rpm, so I run it hard for a bit before using it. I did upload some pictures to the Leatherworker website but it is currently down, if you check there later you might find them, search JacobsMess and Direct drive.
@@jamesclifford194 Fascinating! Thank you for the reply. I didn't know these existed until I started researching servo motors for my Thompson PW-301 (apparently similar to the Sailright Ultrafeed). I really like the idea of maintaining portability. How's the performance for what you are doing? Edit: The more I look at it the more it looks like there doesn't seem to be a natural attachment point on my machine. Btw, I looked for your post but couldn't find it.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 so far it's been great, I love the functionality it brings and the weight savings have been great (as I've had to move the machine several times recently). it's also a lot neater than belt driven, you can get down to 200rpm which is plenty slow enough for me but if you want slower than a belt driven machine with smaller pulley is best. That all being said, I've not had much opportunity to really put it's through it's paces yet.
@@jamesclifford194 I found your post. Very cool. It looks like if I can put it on the shaft of my machine I can just copy your idea of bracing it on the table. Simple but effective! Thanks so much for the fast reply. Sounds like you got a great price also! Do you have a model number or is it the same one as the video?
