Two questions: 1. The dsg in the b9 a4 is rated to only 400nm. This is not very much room for improvement/tuning. But WHY do these cars not respond well to big turbo builds? I’ve seen a couple individuals tune big turbos and it seems to be barley and sometimes less than the ie stage 2 numbers on stock turbos? 2. Upon research, many people including Darkside Development have claimed that even though there is a rating, the dsg can be pushed well beyond sometimes beyond 800-900nm. Others claim the transmission is weak and cannot handle this. What is the truth?
Hi Nick, in our testing, the DSG's in these cars are capable of more than 400nm. We've tested them beyond that and they have held the power perfectly. With a tune, they can also handle more. DSG's are usually underrated for what they can handle and with a tune they are super capable. We haven't gotten into upgraded turbo testing yet, but if we do, I don't think the DSG is going to be the limiting factor.
Any updates on the DL382 Gen 2 TCU? Is there a possibility I can still try to flash it and maybe it will support it, and if I try and it doesn’t work is there any risk of not being able to flash back to stock?
I wish you guys showed off the drive modes more. I’m stage 1 right now and the comfort drive mode is absolutely horrible lol. Just to much torque, I can’t wait till I can get this tcu tune 😂😂
The drive modes work and function same as stock, they don't have the programming functionality to reduce torque or power output, it's all in the shift behavior. Sounds like our TCU tune would be a great upgrade for you.
How does this work with a Stage 1 TCU tune (matched with an Stage 1 ECU tune)? Does launch control only work in Sport + w/ traction control off? I'm really just looking for an improvement in daily driving and not really drag or track use. I guess I'm asking if it's beneficial if I just use in Drive mode (dynamic) with traction control on.
Launch control is enabled in sport/manual mode with traction control off yes. But the TCU tune adjusts all modes and you get the benefits in drive mode and the others as well. So yes, it is still just as beneficial.
Hello. I have an A4 B9 and its already tuned with Revo Stage 1 91 octane. Could I install your TCU tune to complement the ECU tune or is it not advisable because the ECU has another's tune? I guess what I'm trying to ask is can I purchase this tune without worrying about reliability in my use case?
Our TCU can typically be paired with another ECU tune. I would check with your current ECU tuner and make sure it is ok on their end, but we haven't seen issues typically. It is best to run matching software for best compatibility and performance, but if you want to mix, that is typically ok.
Yes, we have plenty of customers that have high mileage vehicles. As long as the car has been maintained and you take care of it, you won't have anything to worry about.
These transmissions target torque load, not RPM, so depending on location conditions, fuel, tune stage, etc. the RPM will vary in each setting to hit the target launch torque. This is the reason we use street/aggressive/race on the ZF8-based Audi trans platforms.
We have a separate TCU tune for the B9 S4/S5. That can be found here. performancebyie.com/collections/ecu-software-tunes/products/ie-audi-b9-al552-zf8-tune
You need the stage 2 TCU file to get the different launch settings. The stage 1 TCU doesn't allow adjustable launch control options so it will launch at the factory settings.
There is a switch at the bottom of the throttle pedal called the "kickdown switch" you would push the throttle all the way to the floor to push the kickdown switch.
The Gen 2's have a different security access and changes in the box code that make it so we can't tune them currently. We are looking into it but no ETA of when those will be tuned.
If you contact support, they can help you find our which you have. Also if you connect your Powerlink device and go to the transmission tuning portion, it will show available files in there if you have the Gen 1 DSG that we can tune currently.
Times are variable depending on a variety of factors. Temperature, weather, DA, elevation, tires, etc... So there's no saying it's going to increase exactly by X amount. But you definitely see an increased 0-60 by quite a bit with the new TCU tune.
When is Mk7/A3 launch control coming out?
Already released with our DSG tune for those cars.

That TCU is still very locked down with new advanced security. If your car does not have a supported TCU, then no tune will show up on the app.
Will there ever be a stage 3 ECU tune for the TTE440L?
I wish you guys showed off the drive modes more. I’m stage 1 right now and the comfort drive mode is absolutely horrible lol. Just to much torque, I can’t wait till I can get this tcu tune 😂😂

Well why would you get the ecu and no tcu tune

@IEtuned I bought a 2013 A4 with stage 2 already in it. The guy gave me the IE tune obd2
Can I add launch control with Manual transmission?
Unfortunately not, we don't have a file for launch control on a manual transmission.

@@IEtunedThanks for your detailed explanation.
Very helpful.
did u have a battery charger connected to ur engine for this video or no?
What are the rpm ranges for the race launch?
Between 3800-4200RPM
my car has 3 times the milage of this one would it be safe to do a stage 2 ECU tune and tcu tune as well?
Yes, we have plenty of customers that have high mileage vehicles. As long as the car has been maintained and you take care of it, you won't have anything to worry about.
@@IEtuned sounds good 👍
Thanks
What’s the RPMs Rev on street and also aggressive launch thank you

Stat nerds want to see spec sheets
Do i still need to connect my battery charger for the TCU tune as I have to for the ECU tune?
We recommend a battery charger anytime you are flashing just to be safe.
What tires were on this car? Just for comparison
245/40/18 if I remember correctly.
Whats the difference between the stage 1 tunes and the stage 1+ tunes ?
Stage 1+ files are for an upgraded HPFP added to the car.
Does the ECU stage 2 have a crackle file?
For B9 A4/A5? Yes, there is a crackle file on stage 2.
Does this work on the S5 B9 !?! I have stage 2 and it only launches at 3k
We have a separate TCU tune for the B9 S4/S5. That can be found here.

Mine doesnt have the option to choose the 3 different launch modes, I have the B9 S4, could you please help me?@@IEtuned

I have the stage 1 TCU tune@@IEtuned
You need the stage 2 TCU file to get the different launch settings. The stage 1 TCU doesn't allow adjustable launch control options so it will launch at the factory settings.
When will the mk7 6speed manuel get this??
Our MQB TCU tunes already have adjustable launch control.
@@IEtuned you now have launch control for manual mk7 gti ?
Manuals do not, DSG cars do. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
what does "plus the kick down" mean?
If you know, you know...
There is a switch at the bottom of the throttle pedal called the "kickdown switch" you would push the throttle all the way to the floor to push the kickdown switch.
mine says dl382 gen 2 not supported why?

@@IEtuned oh ok i hope it comes soon
How do I check what dsg I have?
If you contact support, they can help you find our which you have. Also if you connect your Powerlink device and go to the transmission tuning portion, it will show available files in there if you have the Gen 1 DSG that we can tune currently.
How much does it improve 0-60 time on a stage 1 ecu ?

This is JUST what I was looking for 😎
