- I finally decided to bite the bullet and subscribe to Worldpackers to open new doors for volunteering all over the world. Not long later, I came across Papa Sao's Farm which is situated in Northern Thailand, not too far from Chiang Mai.
Throughout the video, I discuss the activities I got up to, some of the things I learnt, and my thoughts on volunteering.
Have you ever considered volunteering? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for sharing :) It was nice to see an authentic video of what it's like to be volunteering.
Of course! Volunteering is a lot of fun. It's a great way to experience something you might not come upon in a regular job. Awesome to try new things!
Thanks for this girly! This was a very authentic video, please continue to share your adventures 🥰 I would love to see more
Thankyou, thats so kind!! Plenty more travels to come :) x
awsome i will try it this year thx for sharing your experience with us
Have fun!
You are so authentic and kind person ❤ Beautiful and peaceful video. I'm new at worldpackers and accepting volunteers in my land in Portugal CasteloBranco, I hope you and people like you came to visit us😉
Thankyou! Thats such a sweet comment. Incredible! I will be in Portugal soon. I may stop by ❤️
Video was so good to see what it's actually like. I am on the cusp of buying a plane ticket out to Thailand and travel SE Asia, but want to do volunteering (i have subscribed to workaway). I am not sure if i should get something booked before i go/and if i need a visa to workaway at somewhere like this farm - do you have a work visa?
Thanks for the feedback :) It’s a great place to travel, and I recommend it.
I recommend looking into volunteering visas in Thailand, but I was only here for about 4-5 days so I just went in on a tourist visa.
I’d recommend applying to some places before you head out, but they’re usually pretty chill and you shouldn’t have too much of a problem getting a spot!
Safe travels!
What a great video. Keep up the good work
Thankyou kindly. Loads more travel vlogs to come!
love this video
Thankyou kindly! I may have to do one in the future :)
I’m flying to Bangkok right now. I’d love to connect with you about worldpackers! I’m trying to decide what to apply to and if worldpackers is worth it :)
Hey there! I hope your trip is going well! Let me know if you have any questions about Worldpackers; I'm happy to help!
Gee wiz. You is kind, you is smart, you is important. My 1st vid of yours. I love it.
Im planning on traveling to Italy for my 1st World packers adventure from USA.
That is so kind of you! Be sure to subscribe, I’ve got loads of backpacking videos yet to come :) !
Amazing! What will you be doing in Italy?
@@AshleeMorgan already did! I guess with WWII, a lot of the mountain towns and cities lost roads. So, many of the buildings were abandoned. Theres a lot of restoration and ecological opportunities that I really want to join.
Absolutely incredible country
Thankyou for the support! Awesome, loads of incredible history to explore. Safe travels!
Hi Ashlee, Amazing video 👍👍👍 I was thinking of doing some volunteering myself. Any recommendations on how long you should stay on farms like these?
:)
Thankyou kindly! I totally recommend doing it. Its a great way to experience a different lifestyle. Papa Sao told me that some people stay for weeks on his farm, and I can absolutely see why! I think 5-7 days is perfect if you don’t have much time. But if you enjoy it, why not stay a little longer?
I will so love this
Its a very fun experience!
Interesting. Prayers on your journey
Thankyou kindly. Hope you enjoyed the video :)
awesome vlog! i wanna be papa sao"s friend
Hes an incredible man and so kind to offer visitors a view into life of the Karen Villagers :)
Thanks God bless you for your inspirational video, are you open for more questions about the world packer experience?
Such kind words, thankyou! Absolutely, go for it
Once you're signed up with a account how long does it take before you're accepted? I'm a "nonviolent and predatorial previous offender" in my youth, meaning I'm none that's in quotations. Very proud of the choices I've made but some of the bad choices involved cannabis and driving mistakes. Will things like this hurt me being selected? And my last concern is vaccines, I support medicine but I'm against vaccines majority the COVID-19 vaccine. Will this affect my general involvement? Again thank you and God bless all that you are doing!
You can sign up with an account and then you will need to do a little bit of training to understand what worldpackers is all about and how it works. I dont think past choices will affect your selection. It’s not like applying for a job.
Depending on the country you’re visiting, they may require a covid vaccine. Otherwise, the host of the volunteer experience could possibly ask for their visitors to be covid vaccinated. (This can assist in protecting those in vulnerable and small communities that havent had exposure to the virus like we have.)
Hope that was helpful!
Thank you Soo much Ashlee 🌞
Most welcome, safe travels! :)
Hi!! can you share the link of the worldpackers experience?
Yes of course- www.worldpackers.com/en/positions/54478
Thanks for help, you are very pretty😁 How old are you and what do you do for work?
Thanks! Im 26, and working a few different odd jobs!
Has it changed your life for the better..if so how?
It absolutely did! I got the chance to learn skills I wouldn’t typically come across and I was exposed to a different way of life. An experience like this makes you realise how much unecessary junk we bring into our lives and how we can live with much less. It’s incredibly peaceful and simple, a really beautiful experience! :)
Hi how do you manage your expenses
Hi! I like to use an app Tripcoin to note down all of my expenses. However, i plan a daily budget and do my best to stick to it!
New subscriber 😊
Welcome! Thanks for subbing :)
Did u going alone ?
Yes, solo backpacking
Plant that rice faster! Seriously, if you've made the trip to go work in a rice filed, try to emulate the work force that's doing it.
😂 sorry dude, but its a skill and takes a little while getting used to. Id rather do it carefully and correctly than mess up one of their main food sources. But thanks for the insight!
@@AshleeMorgan Oh, don't apologize to me...put that towards those working there that thought they'd actually have help with the labor.
They didnt actually want our help. Papa Sao didn’t want us to plant the rice but we wanted to do it for the experience. The people from the Karen tribe are incredibly lovely and were just stoked to see us getting involved. We still did something, and I’m proud of our achievements.
