AH!!! THIS is the one I've been waiting for! Your slow description made it go smoothly! Wasn't getting there on my own. For those who haven't bought from Stache I HIGHLY recommend it! I bought several of his DVD's and there's a TON of great information and skills to learn in them. I've gotten a lot from his free stuff too but you MUST support him financially to get the free stuff too. He puts a hell of a lot of effort into this for us, pay him back by buying something! I'm about to turn 60 and still rocking (AGAIN after an extensive hiatus) and this kind of thing goes a long way for me, especially when I get stuck on a plateau. Rock on dude! Great teaching technique! (from a certified flight, karate and NRA instructor!)

how do I mute strings with hybrid picking so my tone will sound clean
is it generally recommended to not use your left pinky when shredding like this, or is that just your personal preference?
